Q: Did you like Eyes Wide Shut?
A: Tom, quit posting here.

Q: Last night I got drunk and had sex with your mother. She loved it, she screamed my name over and over. My question is what are you gonna do about it?
A: Nothing Dad, you're drunk again.

Q: Can I ask a question?
A: I don't know; can you?

HAHAUHUAHAUHAHA

WOW!

Somebody read the FAQ..... and got my jokes!

You're the first person to publicly laugh at my jokes.  My life is now complete.  Thank you, thank you and thank you.

Sounds like some piece of spyware or other did that for you. If AdAware, Spybot etc. can't find anything, look for something else... such as a modified hosts file. If you're running NT (NT 4, 2000, XP et al.), look for (windows dir)\system32\drivers\etc\hosts; if you're on 9x/ME, (windows dir)\hosts. If it's that, there'll be an entry for Google there. If so, remove it. (does this happen with other browsers too, though? If it's in the hosts file, not only IE should be affected)

If you can't reach Google any other way, try http://216.239.37.99/. That should work.

Fuzz,

Yeah, that worked.  I checked the hosts file - it redirected almost all popular search engines to that Cpanel site.  Ech.  Thanks for the help; I deleted the file and it all works again.

You know, I've got this weird problem with my IE.

If I type www.google.com in my browser window, it doesn't take me to google, but some other site that says "No website is configured for this address" and a logo that says "Cpanel" comes up...... Cpanel and WebHostManager links are at the bottom.... it's weird.

to me, some underrated bands would be 999, the saints or the rich kids, who didn't get the coverage they deserved. unlike the damned, the stranglers, richard hell, etc.
but once again, someone who's not into punk would never call the damned and the buzzcocks "legends".

Well, I'm not into punk, but I know that Richard Hell and the Buzzcocks are legends in that scene.....

I think underated is really a personal preferance..... are we talking about bands that don't get coverage in Rolling Stone?  Or Spin?  Because whatever the media chooses as the moment as popular can change in years.... sure, during the punk rise of the 70's, the Buzzcocks or Richard Hell would NEVER HAVE been written about in the press, now they'll get an article from time to time with their names written in reverance....the point is, it doesn't matter - you have to like what you like, right?  Isn't that the beauty of music?

Blackthrone, do you mean Meatloaf?

Nope, I mean SUGARLOAF.  They're a 70's rock band. Look up their song "Green Eyed Lady".... it's pretty groovy.

"Miles End" - Gomez
"Hocus Pocus" - Focus
"The Scientist" - Coldplay
"Don't Dream It's Over" - Crowded House

Hey Folks,

Just letting you know that the playable demo of Quest For Infamy: So You Want To Be A Villain will be available next month, so keep watching for a link to it.

Until then, here are some screen shots made by our game artist, KQArtist.  These are edits of the original Spielburg Valley Artwork from QFG I.  Check it out.

What about Mike Patton?
Faith No More was totally underated.  They were more than just "Epic" (Which was and still IS a great song) but they bent genre and style quite a bit; too much for mainstream type fans to catch on.

As for Uriah Heep, they are one of those 70's bands who just don't get as much acclaim as they should.  Badfinger is another group I love, but isn't as celebrated - Sugarloaf is another one; "Green Eyed Lady" is a great tune.

I'd say Gomez, too.  They seem to be popular in England, but here in the States, no one knows them.  I'm in love with the tune "Miles End" of off "In Our Gun"

looks nice,

but you havnt yet shown a background drawn from scratch have you? maybe I'm wrong but i'd love to see one.

We're still working on those screens; believe me, we have a few in the works.  We want to show these edits because they are going to be in the demo, and people know Quest For Glory so we thought it'd be fun to show them a comparison.... how we age and change Speilburg a bit after twenty years...

Soon we'll have some original artwork up, I promise.  Hopefully they will be just a nice as the work we've had done up until now.  I promise, however, that this game is rolling along nicely and it will be a great AGS made game to play.  Hell, I'm writing the game, and I can't wait to play it.

It is an edit, but parts of it were completely redrawn.

Wow!  Such Controversy!  You'd think Janet Jackson just showed up, pulled out a titty and declared her intention to remake Maniac Mansion!

I loved Maniac Mansion, I've played it on every system, including NINTENDO!  It was fun.  I loved DOTT.  I looked like a fun, living comic book and was quirky.  Why not remake Maniac Mansion like DOTT?  No one is forcing ANYONE to play it.  If you want to play the original, PLAY IT.  If you want to work on a new one, Mats, do it!  Why not?  If you enjoy making it, and I'm SURE there are other's that would - and would gladly help, just do it.

These games are free.  No one is paying you to make them, or paying to play them.  If you think MM is fine the way it is, stay that way.  Don't tell someone they are wrong to remake it.  It's not like a remake replaces ANY kind of real version of a game anyway.

Jodo's work is coming along great on the remake of Laura Bow.  We will release the full source code.

Anybody know why the Anonymous Game Designers are reluctant to release their source code?  It's worrisome that someone like the AGDs will take our free work and try to sell it,...

But Jodo says this is the idea.  He wants more people to make games and he wants to see them sold for retail.

Graphics are no problem, it's a trick to make them consistent.  It's also beyond me how people can program AGS, but if people shared their work it would be so much easier.

Thank you CJ for providing forums where we can beg/borrow and steal what we need to finish a game.

A bit off topic, don't you think? And refering to yourself in the third person!

As for the Demo Quest, I love it.  It taught me the basics.  You just have to tear it apart, tweak it, and learn.  That's it.  Trial and Error.  Demo Quest II is also a lot of fun; I hope someday it is finished.  It was a nice idea.

It's okay - looks nice for a 3-D BKG, except the moon looks kinda like a golf ball.

Jodo,

You got banned at AGDI; you're well on your way to getting banned here...... just chill out and work on your game.  You could always open your own forum - ezboards lets anyone have one, link it to your page, and have your feedback and soapbox there..... people are just getting angry, and it's not worth your time or their time to be arguing about all this.

I was being faceitious.....hehe.   ;D

Frenchmen don't stink; but French women.....okay... enough about the French.  They did invent mayonaise and champagne, both of which are quite tasty.

Trying to keep up with all culture's personal pop-culture and idiosyncracies is tough, for sure - but half the fun of a commuunity like this one is learning about other people and other customs in countries.  Now, we're all speaking English here, but the slang changes so much from country to country!  From those of us who still use the letter "Z", what I've been told is an "archaic" letter,  to those of us who refer to a male friend as a "mate", difference is what makes the human race so interesting.  That we all can be different, yet we're all here, united under the common bond of gaming.   Just for the sake of creation and leisure, we comingle, learning more and more about just what people do.

And yes, we American's CAN BE very pompous and self absorbed.  So can any culture, we're just very good at it, because we're pumped full of self-agrandizing propaganda since they day we get shot out into the world.  We're a proud country, built from nothing but a bunch of religious rejects and criminals.  We went from unruly farmers to unruly politicians with way too much money in less that 300 years, and DAMMIT we rock.  Sorry if our puritan/heathen/captialist/humanitarian/war mongering/enigmatic/non-sequitorial ways are confusing.  We're just people, and not all of us are indicitive of that typical view of America.  Just as not ALL Brits are prisses with bad teeth and a penchant for TEA and ONLY TEA, or Austrialians are criminal brutes, or Bulgarians can't find their pants, or Frenchmen stink (well........prove me wrong, Batman!) etc...... we're all just learning, so sorry if toes are stepped on.  We need to teach each other.... not only get frustrated when someone makes a cultural faux-pas..... okay.  Cliche "Feel Good" speech over. Back to the regular debauchery.

Yer a pawn in my marketing blitz campaign.  You are increasing awareness of my project.  Thank you for your support!

This goes for Vel too.  Nothing you will say now will diminish the enjoyment people will get from the game.
