Gonzo,

MIDI music would be great!  Feel free to send some samples to ALEXANSG@yahoo.com.  That would be most excellent if you wished to compose some themes.  I'm thinking sweeping marchs in minor keys..... and other darting themes.

Well I've really starting digging QfG this past year, it was all new to me, so a spin-off like this is exciting. Hopefully it'll be more than just a parody kind of thing and a really fun game in its own right though. It sounds ambitious but of course it's possible, if Tierra can manage something as staggeringly big and professional as KQ2VGA+.

I wanted to offer my help, but I can't really commit to doing backgrounds of that kind of standard. But if you wanted original MIDI music for this game I'd love to be involved in that in some way. I think I could manage some QfG-style tunes, perhaps with a more evil, dark feel like the game concept seems to be.

Dude,
Yeah, we are going for a darker look for our character, and that design is heading in the right direction.  Berserker, yours is good too - developing this guy to portray that sense of cunning, deviousness, and power is a tricky thing to do.

Nice work.

Oh and really, Klitos is the one doing all the AGS and Engine work.  The games technical design is all his... so I think he's the groundbreaking one.  I'm just the idea guy!

Hey all, I'm the other guy doing the ground-breaking  ;D work on QFI with Blackthorne.

Dude Man and BerserkerTails, I like both your sprites.

Dude Man, what you've designed is exactlly what I had imagined the character to look like, almost Vampire-Like in appearance. Any chance you could redo the sprite with added detail. Blackthorne may have some other comments, I just loved the look of it.

Mandarb,

  Wicked. Just wicked.

As said by others before, very professional...... and fun! Must have taken a lot of planning and testing.  It's nice to see actual work go into a game!

Can't wait to see more.  Innovative, for sure.

Dude Man,

Yeah, original backgrounds will be made - I have character design working right now, but if you're interested in working on the project, email me at alexansg@yahoo.com.  I'll tell you more about what you can do, and the characters and such.  If you would like to Graphically Design some of the characters we are working on, that would be great - as well if you would like to design a background.  We have the screens we need plotted out, so I can just send you the information.  Write me.

Most of the Sierra Pictures were used to try and capture the feel I was planning for the game.  As progress has continued, we have created many works of our own art.

QUEST FOR INFAMY: So You Want To Be A Villain?

Offical Website: http://www.infamous-adventures.com

Latest Update: 12-02-04

Set in the Speilburg Valley, 20 years after the events of QFG1, you have come from the northern lands of Britannia to escape persecution for some rather unsavory things you did. Ã, After hearing of the death of the Steward of Speilburg Valley and the unrest it has caused, you travel there to set up new residence. Ã, From here, you plot your evil deeds as one of three character classes.

Brigand - Using brute force to steal, work your way into a brigand tribe, and lead them to domination of the valley.

Sorceror - using black magic, bring the Valley of Speilburg under your spell and command, and rule with a dark hand.

Assasin - using your cunning and desire for money, gain influence as a hired gun - eventually, perhaps, becoming steward of the land.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The game will be in the style of QFG1 VGA, and feature three different storylines for each of the classes, as well as the "basic" story that all characters follow. Ã, What this means, I suppose, is that the mini-missions and ways to procede differ from character to character, making the game's repeat playability level quite high. Ã, Earn different skills as your "infamy" level gives you more influence and power. Ã, Complete fighting and stats system included.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edit:Ã,  Coming up on the one year anniversary of production for Quest For Infamy!!!!

This game is a beast for sure, and we've learned a lot about the design process along the way.Ã,  We are still in production - look for more on this title next year!

Okay, I'm having a small problem - I need to make it so when one character touches another, the player dies.... I've used AreCharactersColliding, but it only works on a certain region.... do I have to set the whole screen as a region to which this pertains, or is there an easier way to do it?

Quintaros,

Thanks for taking a gander.  Yes, like I said the sprites are temporary.  The animation is off and incomplete - the sprite I'm using now is a bastardization of a Luke Sprite from an SNES game.  I plan to have someone else design sprites, or I may do it myself if I master the Force and learn patience.  Yes, I agree, Owen is horrible due to me rushing to make a sprite.  I must say I'm kind of happy you got lost in the desert; it's a desert, and deserts are not easy to navigate.  So, I will release more screenshots in the future.... I just wanted to give people and idea of where I was going, and if anyone wished to lend a hand, I am more than willing to add you to the team.

Yeah, you need to dowload parts A, B and C in order to play the game.  I forgot to mention that in my previous post.

Download ALL THREE PARTS to view the demo. Using IE, you can right-click on the links above, and "Save Target As..." to download the zipfiles.  Thanks!

AGS Games in Production / Star Wars - Fan Game
Sun 28/09/2003 16:13:02
Hey, I've been working on my fan game for Star Wars, Episode IV - and I have a demo up and running.  You may download it from www.geocities.com/SWFanGame - that's the site, it has info on the game, it's progress, etc.  Remember this is an early demo, so most of the graphics are temporary and the storyline, plot and puzzles are being worked out.  Any comments welcome!  Thanks.

Yes, I have made some simple games in AGS before.  I will be honest; I am not the world's greatest programmer - but, I have some friends who are.  They have agreed to help me with the more complex programming parts, ie scripting.  But I have come up with the outline and set-up of the game.  I am writing all the dialouge, take from the original script and also from the radio-broadcast script, along with some made up by myself.  By trade I am an amateur filmmaker as well, so writing film scripts and directing isn't new to me.  I have always been a fan of adventure games since I was 10 and I discovered King's Quest on my cousin's IIgs.  This has been a dream of mine, to combine my love of Star Wars, Adventure gaming and direction.... this is a FUN project, and a labour of love.  The more people we get involved, the better it can be.  I know there are many Star Wars fans, and I feel I have a GOOD start going with my outline and plans.  These can easily be ammended, as well, if someone comes up with good ideas for side plots and adventures.  A good project must be organized and have a good start, which is why I have the outline, drawn plans and started an actual script.  So please, if you have a love for Star Wars and Adventure Gaming, pitch in!  http://www.geocities.com/SWFanGame

I'm serious, so I hope the inquires are!

Hello All!
Realize I seem new here, and this is a hefty message to start off with, but please bear with me.  I have been reading messages here for sometime now, and working by myself, but the time has come for me to enlist and get some help from all the really talented people here.  I am making a fan game, based on Star Wars EPISODE IV.  It's a 3-D Animated Adventure game, in which you take Luke Skywalker from Tatooine to the Death Star to Yavin IV.  I need original artwork, though - check out the website, http://www.geocities.com/SWFanGame for more details and to see the work done.  The game is in primary stages, but with all the help I could get, this could get done.  Remember this is not for profit, yada-yada, and will take some time to complete.  But if you're an artist, and you've got love for Star Wars and some spare time, make a background or two!  Please?  Thanks so much.
