While I'm here I might as well mention this. We've been spending the entire year doing resource gathering from previous project iterations, organizing and planning a development structure that would work well with open-source development, fixing bugs and doing a major cleanup in the source code.

We feel as if we're ready to start doing major work in moving the game forward now. At first we need to deal with the great behemoth that specifically for this game has always been a major hurdle, the plot. Currently the expertise field of the development team has a 100% shift towards programming, and thus we urge anyone who would be interested in writing to take a look. More info here.

Ahh cool I see that 'More Info here' link in your post takes us to a brand new Hero6 forum! It's so great to see you guys working on the game again.

I miss the old hero6 forums but they were in bad shape (spammers etc) so its nice to see Hero6 has a nice new forum for fans to help out in. I'll go sign up now! :)

Hey everybody! 1.5 years on since my last big update to my Quest for Glory Page and amazingly I've found a whole bunch of new projects and materials so its time for another one! As always thank you to everyone that contacts me with new information! :)

New QFG related projects found:
- Betrayed Alliance - Full tribute page created! Brilliant new & finished QFG1 style SCI game.
- QFG6 Hero's Legend - New project recreating Silmaria in 3D using own engine.
- Heroism: The Art of De-Fence - Full tribute page created! Cool 3D QFG project using the Unity engine. Attracted the attention of the Coles!
- Quest for Glory 1 Extended - AGS remake of QG1 with open mountain pass & extended areas like QFG4.5. Don't know more details. Author ignored attempts to contact.
- Unknown QFG Project: By Dormant - AGS QFG title. Don't know name or details. Author ignored attempts to contact.
- Legacy of Glory - 3D QFG style game. Don't know more details. Author ignored attempts to contact.
- Unknown QFG Project: By Jimbeanus - AGS QFG title. Don't know name or details. Author ignored attempts to contact.

Changes made:
- General - Updated music to mp3, fixed broken links, switched to java frames, forced frame loading, 'sneaky' linking redirects to entry page
- Original QFG1,2,3,4 & 5 - Finally finished my maps! Created slideshow videos with high quality QFG music that show many screenshots that didn't make it to the site.
- Mage's Initiation: Reign Of The Elements - Stunning new pictures found
- Heroine's Quest - Split both Heroine's Quest projects to 2 different tribute pages at authors request. Recorded video of rare Legend of Fair Spring demo.
- Quest for Infamy - Decided to do the same & split QFI pages which means my old 'damp brigand cave theme' QFI page is back from the dead! Stunning new pictures found
- Hero6 - Project re-activated by new team! New demo & more long lost demos found.
- Quest for 3D - New pictures released
- Grim Quest - New graphics & story. New pictures & demo released

Opps sorry I didn't reply to this.. haven't visited these forums in aaaages!

Mostly yes. When I built the site in 2010 I downloaded every demo I could to test them out and take pictures etc. There were many I sadly could find a copy of and are lost forever, but I'm pretty sure I still have copies of all the ones I did find. I'm currently doing a very overdue overhaul on my QFG webpage adding new games, updating projects, and testing links. The kind folks at http://www.infamous-quests.com/ have offered to host any rare demos for me so if there's any dead demo links on my site and I can't locate a new working link for them I'll get them to host my copies soon. :)

Not sure what happened to this forum over the last year or so but something broke all my links in my previous post doubling the https in the addresses. They've all been fixed.

ChamberOfFear:
Thank you so much for collecting all the Hero6 demos and source files. It has been a struggle for me to keep active links to them all on my Hero6 page over the years so now I've updated my page to take people to your sourceforge page. And well done on locating the 2002 forest demo, I requested that here in the game request thread and people told me it didn't exist lol! Even Delta couldn't find it when we talked but I knew it existed and sure enough you got it!! :)

Radiant:
YES!!! You read my mind! It broke my heart a few years back when I built my Destiny & Nightfall tribute pages and just couldn't get the demos. Found their websites in the internet archive, found the download links but the files they linked to were not backed up. There's gotta be some fan out there who eagerly tried their demos and still has a copy laying around. A few owners of long dead QFG fan projects have contacted me over the years and given me new stuff but sadly I've never heard from the people behind these 2 projects. Wish we could get in touch with them. PS I know you've been at me for ages to split the Heroine Quest pages but I haven't really worked on my QFG page much over the last few years but I'm doing a big overhaul atm and I've finished splitting the Heroine pages and they'll hopefully be to your liking, will upload them very soon.

Looks so awesome guys!

I posted a link to your Meet the team article at indiedb on the Quest For More Glory facebook group and once again it attracted the attention of the Cole's. :) Corey viewed it and Lori posted "I love the look of the main character - she rocks!"

Thought I'd let you guys know that I posted your trailer in the Quest for More Glory Facebook group and QFG's Lori Cole herself posted this comment: "This really does look like it could be fun. They did a great job at re-creating the old Quest for Glory" :)

Well there's 12hours left on the Hero-U Kickstarter and they've aaaaalmost got there.. I keep refreshing every hour.. this is gonna be a close finish lol!

I've been broke lately plus Im not sure if I'm gonna like Hero-U but I threw in a nice $90 for 3 reasons:

1- My way of saying a big thankyou and showing loyalty to the Coles for the 5 QFG games that I’ve love so dearly since my childhood. To me the money is really a payment to the Coles, not HeroU.

2- The Coles have hinted that if Hero-U is successful then there's a good chance of more QFG games in the future. If it’s not then we can probably forget about any more QFG. So I consider the money a future investment for QFG!

3- Ya never know, maybe HeroU will be good. It is being made by the Coles after all!

Hope they get there!!!!!

Hey guys,

It's taken a few weeks and some help from Deltamatrix over at QFMG but I've finally finished my Hero 6 videos showing quick playthroughs of the big 2006 MAD engine demo and the smaller but more polished 2009 AGS demo. If any of you out there have been following the project over the last decade wanted to see how much was done and see all the brilliant work that went into the game over the years (from so many including a few people here I'm sure) now you can! It is my hope that by showing the world this game on youtube it will never be forgotten and maybe more fans will be inspired to help bring the project back from the dead or create great QFG style projects of their own.

I've posted new screenshots, download links and embedded the videos in the Hero 6 page at my website but I'll post the vids here too to make it easier. :)

2006 MAD Engine Alpha Demo (in 2 Parts)
This demo boasts a very large game world to explore with a town and 2 villages containing many npcs to talk to (with a QFG4 full screen protrait style). There are many monsters to fight and even some jobs to do for the npcs.

2009 AGS Engine Alpha Demo (in 3 Parts)
This demo reflects the downsizing of the project with a smaller game world however it is much more polished and contains story and multiple quests to complete therefore making it much longer to play! In a way it almost feels like a sequel to the 2006 demo as places you could visit before are now dead, overgrown and haunted. The battles are better as well with new enemies and gang fights.

As a Quest for Glory fan I have to say:

1- Hero 6 (started on MAD but ended up on AGS)
2- Project Katrina
3- Destiny (not sure it this was AGS or their own internal ags style engine)

oh man Ryan's recording just put me in tears... brilliant!

I've seen a few projects still exist over at www.questformoreglory.com, I know one of them (Grimm Quest) was posted in these forums somewhere.

Yeah I'm the one that posted the 3 thousand word beta test report for Grimm Quest (what can I say.. I'm an obsessed QFG fan and I had the week off of work lol) over at the Quest For More Glory forums so all good mate. Just haven't got around to sticking it in the list yet. :)

Am still updating my site to will do a brand new updated Quest For Glory Fan Game list here soon. :)

Thanks man :)
#34
Yeah definitely do as Blueskirt suggests.. I think its pretty hard for anyone to resist a QFG style badass antihero game, this could really explode if the word gets out! :)
#35
Because I'm oldschool.. lol I don't know!

I guess at the time when I started it I figured websites come and go but Walkthroughs spread around and last forever.

Perhaps 1.2 will be web based with an option to download.

Hello Adventurers! It’s taken me a while to get around to doing this but today I’m releasing Version 1.1 of my QFG 4 ½ Walkthrough. I released version 1 at the end of 2010 and got a lot of helpful feedback over email and from the various forums. I certainly wasn't planning on taking a year and half to do implement the changes but it was hard to find the motivation to come back and replay the game multiple times as multiple characters, all for a second time haha! But now it is finally done.

As always if anyone has any new information or errors to report after playing the game please let me know. I promise further updates will happen much quicker if they are required!

You can download my map and updated walkthrough from my Quest For Glory 4 ½ Webpage . There are also some quick tour videos on the page that I made a year ago if there's anyone out there who's never seen the game. Much to my surprise they've been getting more hits than my other QFG videos which just shows there is still interest out there for this old crude buggy game. ;)

Version 1.1 Changes (thanks to lots of helpful feedback from fans!):
- 2 new compatibility suggestions to get the game working.
- Meeting a band of forest adventurers who can teach Magic Users the Leprechaun Gold spell.
- Using Leprechaun Gold on various NPCs.
- How to break in and steal from the Jones’s House.
- Many more fixes, changes and improvements to various quests.

Known Bugs & Issues:
- Random crashes when sleeping till day or night (not the smaller rests)
- Random crashes when looking at your stats (particularly at start of game)
- Always crashes when you try to play cards with the rednecks
- Rumoured corrupt savegame issue (I didn’t succumb to it through because I rotated between 4 savegames to be safe).
- The food on the tree at Erana's peace (after kicking out the hippies) doesn't seem to sustain you.
- Stealth & Run modes don’t seem to work
- Stamina & Mana potions don’t always work. Health potions can become everlasting.

Unsolved Mysteries In The Game:
- The true purpose of the Camouflage cape is unknown
- You cannot seem to do anything in the spores area, may just be authentic decoration this time
- You can visit and chat with the now alcoholic depressed Hermit at his cave and at the bar yet he appears to have no related items or quests.
- The ghost’s murderer is almost impossible for the Thief & Magic user to defeat in combat due to it being monumentally difficult to raise their health & stamina points. No alternative strategies have been found to beat him.

Wow.. these new shots look great Corby! So glad to see you, Radient and the gang are still at it! :)

I've been meaning to email you again as I've been doing some big upgrades to my QFG fan games page. I've updated the Heroine's quest page now too.

Also you may find my new Hero6 page interesting as I remember us chatting over email about finding an old Hero6 demo lost out there somewhere. Its not the the MAD engine forest demo we wanted but instead its a recent pre-alpa AGS version of the game (before it shut down) with MUCH more content.

My website has moved. I'm sorry for that.

Opps sorry for the delay mate, I haven't checked here in a while! Have fixed the link to your game on my website and list.

Am doing a lot of visual upgrades to my QFG fan games page at the moment plus there's some more projects I've discovered and some new demos found/given to me allowing for more media to be put up for several fan games. Am also finally finishing off my playthroughs for the orginal QFG games and soon I will have finished Version 1.1 of my QFG 4 1/2 Walkthrough. Will share updates here when done!

This may have already been posted here but if you haven't already you should check out this poll thread over at AGDI and vote on your top 3 most wanted remakes you'd like AGDI to do (IF they actually do another one).

Needless to say along with requesting a KFG4 remake to complete their series as a die hard QFG fan I couldn't resist voting for the two QFG options haha. Don't get me wrong I LOVE QFG 3 and 5 but I'm dam curious to see what AGDI could do with them.

Already posted this in a couple of other places where I chat with fellow QFG addicts but I keep forgetting all the fans here lol!!

While working on my QFG website a few months back I wanted to add to my fan pages some rarely seen demo trailers of the Quest For Glory games.

Dissatisfied with the dodgy versions already available on Youtube I recorded & uploaded my own high quality versions (no compression prior to Youtube) of the original Sierra QFG Series demos. For any QFG fans feeling nostalgic here they are! :)

I always love watching the QFG4 one, makes me wanna get out the game and have another go! :)
