Someone is in disguise, can you guess which is which? (nod)
I bet the one pacing back and forth in a loop is a robot! :)

... another entertaining game - YAY!
I had fun playing it and enjoyed the grafics/animations and puzzles a lot. (nod)

That especially includes the already mentioned ones with the truck and the doll.
For me it has been refreshing to see a puzzle been solved in a different or (at least for me) new way.

Great job!
Thank you, I'm glad that you liked the truck puzzle!

Finished ;-D

The game works perfectly. It's fast-paced with lots of locations and a low difficulty.

Also, I think you broke the record of dead bodies in an adventure game.
Thank you so much, although I'm sure there has to be some adventure game with a higher body count considering the number of murder-mysteries in the genre.

In other news, I have asked imsomnia212 and Peter Bear to translate the game into Spanish and French respectively, so with a little luck and their hard work the game can have two new languages in the near future!

No, sorry. Won't be able to help you.
That's ok, no problem.

Hi everyone,

I'm a french native speaker and bilingual in english. If you may.
+ already worked on some ags games translations here.

So let me know, I can have some spare time to help you now.

Hi to the community, haven't been there in years :D
That's great to hear!

I don't know if you want but maybe I can help with a spanish translation. Let me know ir you want.
Sure, a Spanish translation would be great. Have you looked at the font in the link, is there any necessary letters missing?
Otherwise, I'd be grateful for your help.

I speak German but I doubt I'd do a good job. But yes, at least for German all necessary letters are present in that font.
That's good to hear!
I'm sure that if you speak German as your native language it will be good enough for this game, and you can always ask someone else to proof-read the script if you are unsure.
Are you still interested in translating the game?

How heavy exactly? How much text are we talking about?
It's a lot of text, I'd guess about 26 pages and around 14 050 words. If you want to take on the translation, which language do you want to translate the game into?

Also, I'm currently using this font, please let me know if there are any language-specific letters not present in the font that would be necessary.

Hi, recently released the game Commissar's Contrapasso, a dialogue-heavy adventure game set in WW2,
and I'd like to have the game reach a broader audience by having it translated in several languages, with French and German being my top priority.

The problem is that I tried,

but I couldn't light the fire even after putting the paper in the bonfire.

@Blondbraid
Spoiler

Did you got the match out of the box and lit it? Or were you just throwing the box or the unlit match at the bonfire?
Cause I have tested it and it's working just fine as intended.
[close]
Aw, I didn't realize I could do that. :( I'll try it when I get back home again.

@Blondbraind
Spoiler

Seems like you are now playing the game as intended. :-D
It's not a bug.
Spoiler

You need to start a fire... what would you do if you wanted to start a fire?
Spoiler

Also the character gives you a hint about what the "last" item is.

And if you haven't figured it out by now, just throw the paper in the bonfire, then light it. ;)

I've played all the games, and here are my thoughts:
Groundhog by Slasher:
Spoiler
At first I just picked answers at random, but once I saw the connection between the right answers I finished the game quickly. It's not a bad game, but there's nothing particularly fun and interesting about it compared to most other games by Slasher.

To the Mountains of Madness by Mandle
Spoiler
I have to agree with Cassiebsg that the GUI was a bit tricky with the arrow the same color as the surrounding frame, but otherwise it was an interesting intro and premise, I'm curios to what the actual gameplay would be like.

Ice in the Air by Cassiebsg
Spoiler
Unfortunately I think I encountered some sort of bug, I putt all items on the list into the bonfire but I can't light it, so I haven't finished the game. :(

Comet Collision by VampireWombat
Spoiler
It was fun seeing all the weird results coming from the choices you could make, but I wish I didn't have to restart the game every time I hit an ending.

Don't Ice your Cool by Hobo
Spoiler
It's a cute, bite-sized game with nice graphics and animations in addition to a neat puzzle, and I ended up voting for it.

Shadow1000, Thank you so much, I'm happy that you liked the game!

selmiak, Thanks for making a video of my game, I really appreciate it!

Cassiebsg, I'll admit that the card scene in the trailer doesn't show up in the game, I just added it as I wanted to have a closeup of the commissar as well as referencing my previous games. I hope you're not too disappointed in the lack of card stacking!
As for your feedback, I'm really glad that you liked the game, though sorry if I kind of spoiled the puzzle for you! :)

Good work!
I used several of your tracks in my latest project, and I think your music really helped bring out the atmosphere of the game!

Congrats Blondbraid on the release ;-D
I'm enjoying this a lot. the little jokes are very well made. I will get back with an essay once I finish it (laugh)

Thank you both, I look forward to hearing your opinions!

Mandle - Great that you liked my game! I suppose I could have added more challenging puzzles, the problem was that the people who test-played the game for me aren't avid adventure-game players
and struggled a lot more with the puzzles and inventory than most people here in the forums would do. As for the ending,
Spoiler
I toyed with the Idea of giving the protagonists a more explicitly romantic relationship, but was worried that it would come off as rushed given the time frame the story takes place in, but I definitively have plans to expand on their relationship if I get around to making a sequel. ;)

Still, I'm happy that you liked the story and found the ending satisfying!

Selmiak - Thanks for pointing out the typo!
As for your question, I've started a Hints and tips thread and will post the answer there.

Awesome ;-D

I've tried it and love the cutscenes.
The red and pink fonts don't read very well though.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! Sorry about the font colors, I didn't find them hard to read when I worked on the game, but I'll think about it next time!

Playing it... I kind of panicked for a few minutes when I was unable to find the save button. But found it saves automatically. (nod)

I have noticed a few minor bugs, while playing, but nothing that ruins the experience except:
Spoiler

In the basement, I walked into the lift room, and of course I immediately went straight to the controls, to play with the button and lever... all fine, expect Victor blocked me in place and I was unable to leave that spot from that moment on. :(
I had to close the game and restart it. Good thing it autosaves at the entry. (nod)

How unfortunate that you encountered a bug, but I'm glad that you were able to finish the game anyway, and that you liked the game.

As for you others, I'm happy that you're downloading my game and I hope that you'll like it too! ;-D

looking forward to play it later tonight. (nod)

EDIT: Oh rats and double rats. It's on GameJolt. :~( Any chance for a mirror?
I just added a mirror link to mediafire on the game page, but how come you have a problem with GameJolt?
