It looks like he's moving around on the inside of some weird torus shape.  Am I seeing this correctly?
I see it too when you pointed it out, is the elevator supposed to be moving down a bending tunnel?
But it looks pretty cool with the golden glow behind the rocks.

I can't find if Die Nibelungen: Siegfried and it's sequel, Die Nibelungen: Kriemhilds Rache by Fritz Lang is in the Public domain, but the stories they are based upon are. It's a fantastic take on a great story and I'd swear that the heroine Kriemhild served as the basis of inspiration for the queen for Disney's Snow White, Cercei Lannister and Danerys Targaryen, and she's making Attila the Hun look like a reasonable pacifist in comparison!
(No joke, Attila really is a character in the second movie)

But otherwise I agree with CyberUncleCat, there are lots of great litterature just waiting for a good adaption. I'm still waiting to see someone take on Don Quixote, since not only is the book itself a hilarious parody of overused fantasy tropes, but turning it into a game would make for ripe material to make fun of various game mechanics in RPG and Adventure games, such as healing potions, armor upgrades and exposition dumps, all those things appear in the original book.

Happy Holidays! ;-D

I've spent some time implementing music by Eric Matyas as well as adding a few more interactions to the game, but it's been hard to get much done in this busy season. However, I now believe that the game is about 40% completed and that if everything goes well, I may be able to complete it entirely by spring.

Anyway, since it's Christmas, I'd thought I'd share this heartwarming story about a Christmas during WW2 I just read! ;-D

I don't get it?
Is the joke supposed to be that Ulfberht swords are supposed to be super fragile?
Or that he legitimately just tried to kill that guy?

Good to see it is not me. I thought Ulfberht swords were some of the strongest of their times.
I am guessing he thinks its a real one but it is a knockoff.
Yes, I suppose the comic makes more sense if you know about Ulfberht swords. They were some of the best swords around in the viking era, which quickly resulted in smiths trying to cash in on their popularity by stamping the name on sub-par swords, proving that bootleg copies aren't a new phenomenon. I hope this clears it up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulfberht_swords

I love the design of the new characters - the tough woman with her hands in her pockets and the middle-aged officer laughing.
Thanks, hope you'll like their dialogues as well!

I love the truck :) I feel like some arm is going to fall when the truck hits a bump on the road *gulp*
I hope you don't get too heartbroken over the fate of it... (roll)

(the last windows update somehow messed up Photoshop Elements on my pc so that my tablet doesn't work with it anymore, so I tried making this background in Firealpaca and Gimp instead. Those programs are not as good, but at least they're free.)

I think Alice: Madness returns has some of the most disturbing scenery I've seen in a game, since it takes place inside the imaginary world in Alice's mind.
The story is that Alice, traumatized after her family die in a fire, end up in an orphanage run by an outwardly respectable man, but Alice suffers a series of hallucinations
as result of her trauma, and enters an imaginary wonderland that's a twisted reflection of her real world.

The game contains lots of gore and morbid imagery, but the real horror comes from slowly realizing what the broken toys and dolls with hollowed out eyes and torn dresses symbolize in the real world and the things Alice witness in the orphanage.

I tried drawing a fun comic strip myself:

"It's the second most busiest time of the year." (everyone sing along!)

So I've played everything and voted. I will post comments if I have time.
And I haven't even had time to play any of the entries yet! :~(

It was some time since I last shared something, might as well show this vehicle I drew:

It's meant to be a ZIS-5 truck, and I do hope it's recognizable despite being in a more cartoonish style.

Best Delinquent Character: Autumn by Sinitrena
Best Insubordination: Autumn by Sinitrena. It was the most touching, seeing as she was innocently accused
Best Writing Style: Sinitrena, it showed both sides of the conflict in a good way
Best Overall: Family Planning by Mandle, the ending was really funny

Sorry for the delay, the result of the vote is a tie between lorenzo and selmiak, so I therefore declare both winners.
Rocchinator made third place.

I'll try to make trophies if I find the time.

Keeping up the high standards in animation, I see. :-D
Thank you!

I wanted to have different animations for picking up things from up high and picking things on the ground in this game.

Super. I also do this (and in different uniforms). Here's a trick to even get more variations: make the animation in a why where when played halfway you can still use it for picking up stuff of lower shelves or knee-length heights ;)
Thanks for the tip, I'll keep it in mind!

I like the idea of episodic games using different characters (nod)
You get to control different characters and still see your favorite ones (laugh)
As for the animation, it's as brilliant as all your artwork.
Thank you, I'm glad you appreciate it!
I recently finished a new animation for the main character:

I wanted to have different animations for picking up things from up high and picking things on the ground in this game.

As for using different characters, a big reason I chose the commissar as a protagonist for this game is that he has a different story to tell from the previous protagonists,
and his interactions and dynamics with other characters will be different as well.
