Yes, yes I did. :-D Either it's an ant house, or very very far away. ;)
Now you just reminded me of Zoolander! (laugh)

(but seriously, the play with perspective in the last two entries look great! 8-) )

Some of the ideas here sound pretty cool, like 2.5D games and the like,
but at the same time I sort of agree with the others that a character and art generator
would lead to a bunch of similar-looking games, like in a lot of RPG-maker games on Steam
where pretty much all the characters are generic chibi-figures and all the worlds look the same
due to all of them using the same tiles to build from. I think it's better if game makers who are
bad at drawing asks someone who are good at drawing to make sprites and backgrounds for them,
rather than relying on character generators.

There is a contribution thread in the critic's lounge as well, maybe more artists could be
encouraged to add their art there for those who can't/ don't have the time to draw their own
character sprites and backgrounds?

At the same time, a lower threshold would mean more people drawn to making adventure games,
and I know lots of people good at writing and art but terrible at scripting.

Just looking at that short animation, makes me think I'm watching a cartoon. :-D
Yes, that really is some top-notch animation, it looks really fun! ;-D

All the new screenshots look awesome, just awesome! 8-0 :-D

All that's missing is one of the 1% making a "Let them eat cake" joke. :)

Looks nice, it's really cool that you made it feel like 3D despite being made in 2D.

Looks nice, Love the spinning effect!

It reminds me a bit of The Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy as well. :)

Best character:Dorothy Ann Maybell by Baron, hands down!
Best setting:Sinitrena, the setting itself is the plot and protagonist of the poem.
Best plot:Baron an the mystery in the mine.
Best writing:Sinitrena, I'm impressed with the pacing and rhymes.
Best editing:A though coice, but I'm going with the minimalism of Stupot+.
Best mystery:I'd say DBoyWheeler's entry is the one with most mystery to it.

I like it, the color-scheme is beautiful and the horizon with mountains look lovely,
but as others have mentioned before, it looks inconsistent and I personally think some areas would benefit from a little more detail and texture.
I also have a little trouble making out the white square structure in the middle, I can't tell what it's supposed to be.

Are we doing just one vote or concept/playability/artistic execution?
Well, with just four entries I thought it would be simplest with just one vote, on the entry which you like best, but feel free to add a comment on why you picked that entry if you like.
I kind of forgot to specify that. :-[

We have had four entries here, and now is the time to vote on them!

Here are the contestants:

First entry:

An interior by DBoyWheeler.

Second entry:

A steam ship by jwalt.

Third entry:

The Crimson Cat by Grundislav.

Fourth entry:

A shiny interior by Grok.

Based on the number of votes, contestants will receive these trophys:

A top hat with gold goggles for the winner.
A bowler hat with silver goggles for second place.
And a cap with bronze goggles for third place.

Voting time until Sept 12th.

Cool, a bonus picture! :-D
Thanks! I thought it would be funny to show her reaction to reaching third place. :)

I do have a bit of trouble adding that lovely trophy to my profile though... :(

No, I'm not that hungry, and I'm perfectly capable of thinking about things other than food.
It's not like I imagine food everywhere I go. Why do you ask? (roll)

There are comic artists out there that are much worse.
I can't remember his name, but there's one guy who traces all of his work. He constantly traces his own work, which was usually traced from porn films. No joke.
I can't for the life of me remember his name though. ???
Gerg Land by any chance? (roll)

It grinds my gears knowing that there are countless unemployed but talented artists out there, yet Rob Liefield somehow got rich and famous drawing things like this:

I have tried to do some work on a sequel for Sniper and spotter being patriotic, but I haven't gotten much work done so far, just a few rough sketches and a title screen:

The working title so far is Sniper and spotter serving the motherland, and this game will be about the scorched earth strategy the soviets were using during the Great Patriotic War.
I had a lot of fun making my previous game and wanted to tell more stories about the sniper Olga and her spotter Ivan, and intend for this game to to have the same dark satirical tone as the previous one.

The mission of Olga and Ivan will be to:
1:Destroy all supplies, resources and useful things belonging to their own side.
2:Run away and hide.
3:Win the war!

How fun to hear that you are making a comic as well!
I think this game looks fantastic and can't wait to try it out, but I know people who,
still to this day and age, think games are just stupid kid stuff and probably won't try any game any time soon,
and I think a comic or book could be a great way to reach them and show this world and story.

Best of luck to you! :)

I am at a loss for words.
Marvelous, simply marvelous,
a truly epic poem, and well rhymed too.

Second that!
A truly impressive track record,
if you don't mind my pun. :)
