I'm stuck,
Spoiler
I'm on the farm and I've found the knife, note, spyglass, clothes, card and newspaper

but I have no idea what to do next or how to proceed.

Wow, it looks great! Though the grain on the textures are a bit too large, it makes the building look like a small model and not a big stone structure.
Wgen you stand far away from a building, the individual surface cracks aren't very noticeable, but otherwise it's a great model.

Thanks for your input, I tried redrawing her legs and make her skin a warmer hue. Better?

Sorry for the delay, here are the results:

First place and the gold trophy goes to Flugeldufel.

Second place and the silver trophy goes to Cassiebsg.

Third place and the bronze trophy goes to Creamy.

Congratulations to all the winners!

I've been toying with the idea for a new character for some time now, and tried drawing a sprite for her:

(She's meant to be a tourist on a tropical island who gets involved in a mystery that makes her explore the ruins and wilderness on said island)
I'm not quite happy with the result but can't quite put my finger on what I'm unhappy with so I'm asking for some constructive criticism.

I'm certain it's due to artificially limiting goods for sale is a tried and tested method of driving up demand, and by driving up demand they can eventually drive up prizes.
It's another way of tricking the costumer into thinking what they're buying is rare and exclusive and that they have to buy it soon before it becomes unavailable again,
just as all big chains do with seasonal versions of their video game DLC/latte/hamburgers, not because they can't produce that all year round, but because it drives up
sales once they do have those things for sale.

Personally speaking, I'd be happy anyone thought any of my games were good enough to be worth translating.

I did try finding people in the Recruitment section in this forum, though those who volunteered backed out after
seeing the volume of text that would need translating, so seeing this thread gives me hope that maybe someone
might pick it up by themselves eventually.

Of the free ones on that list:

Opentoonz is for traditional 2D cel animation. Apparently it can do split-pin animation, but I've never tried it or seen it. It's very idiosyncratic and can be unstable, but it's got some great features. I'm using it for this WIP: https://twitter.com/MisterABK/status/1057956817404379136
That is an awesome animation! I've wanted to try Opentoonz myself, but I never managed to learn it due to the overwhelming interface,
and I haven't managed to find any good tutorials for beginners.

I've been using Macromedia Flash MX 2004 so far, because it's about the only free animation software that I felt was intuitively designed that I could learn the basics without having to sit through a dozen video tutorials.
I don't know if it's just me, but I've always found video tutorials the most frustrating method of learning anything computer based, I've always preferred text I can read at my own pace and skip right to the important bits to always having to pause and rewind videos.

Different cultures like different types of gameplay. Europe clearly prefers puzzle solving, America clearly prefers violence, and Japan clearly prefers in-depth stories. It's as simple as that really.
I think you are overlooking the fact that multiple big game studios like Dice and Machinegames, famous for the Battlefield and Wolfenstein franchises respectively, are situated in Sweden, as is Paradox, a studio which has released multiple war strategy games.
As for in-depth stories, I think that depends a lot more on the genre than origin country, seeing as while JRPG's do have complex stories, so do western RPGs, and a lot of popular japanese games, such as Mario Cart, Splatoon and Wii sports barely has a story at all.

Anyway, I've gotten the impression that the point and click Adventure genre is biggest in Germany, with most non AGS commercial games coming from german studios.

I'll try and write down my thoughts on each game I've played so far before voting:

Scarecrow and his Quest to Find a Brain by Slasher
Spoiler
It has some alright puzzles but the story wasn't too interesting, it was just a simple retelling of the movie without Dorothy participating.
[close]
Black Friday by Danvzare
Spoiler
It had a very typical slasher movie plot, but it was interesting to play as the killer and the voice acting was pretty good.
[close]
Blooded Fields by Nr. 2698
Spoiler
It had a generic intro and premise and the random reference to Jennifer Lawrence was weird, but I cannot really say more since I got stuck early on and couldn't proceed.
[close]
The Strawman Augment by Durinde
Spoiler
It had a kind of cute premise and neat pixel art, but I found the choice of music rather grating.
[close]
STRAWMAN  BOMBING  DISPOSAL by Mandle
Spoiler
It was pretty funny, although the puzzles wasn't really to my taste.

The Wicked Witch of the West by Cleanic
Spoiler
Lovely pixel art and music, plus there was some good puzzles. All in all a nice short game although I noticed a bug when I tried loading a saved game, the deafault GUI appeared over the top of the screen for some reason, but it didn't hinder gameplay.

I voted for

Great interpretation of the theme. (laugh) I was wondering where it would go.
Thank you! I was worried people would think it was a too loose interpretation, but I'm glad you liked it!

Olga and Ivan are a sniper and spotter team fighting in the great patriotic war. When a cheerful war correspondent cross their path both of them see a chance to make a grab for glory...

Sniper and spotter climbing a tower is a standalone sequel to my previous game Sniper and spotter being patriotic, and was made for MAGS in November 2018.
