Sorry for bumping this but does anyone have a working download link for this module? The original link seems to be broken and I can't find any copies anywhere.

Thanks

I knew I'd seen that! I remember Neil Gaiman retweeted that picture, Hellblazer is an amazing comic... I think it's why I always imagine the fire mage to have a northern english accent...

A shame that the Hellblazer game didn't happen hence my delight when Unavowed was announced

Hi Ladies & Gentlemen

I'm looking for some assistance with my Horror game.

It's in 320 X 200 resolution mainly in black and white (see trailer & screenshots below) and I need someone to help with the following:

2 X Characters with full walkcycles (side, up & down)
1 X character with just side walkcycle
5 X characters with 'static' animations (i.e. smoking, turning head etc.)

I've got placeholder designs which I'll share etc.

Hoping to release game for end of November so plently of time.

It'll obviously be freeware, but I do have a very small budget for expenses etc.

interested? for a further discussion email: aaron.best@bluebeeagency.com

TRAILER HERE (NO GAMEPLAY)

Figured it out, it was processing the clicks as 'outside inventory' as the original inventory wasn't open...

I can now sleep.

Being a bit of a ripper-nerd I loved this!

Well done.

Hi,

So I'm probably going to create my own verbcoin from scratch on this one, however, for my own sanity (and to satisfy my OCD) I'm wondering if anyone can give me a pointer on the following:

I'm utilising a second inventory (with a dummy character) as a note system, using the verbcoin template packaged with AGS (the idea being the verbcoin would also be used on this second inventory to 'review' or 'link' notes.)

not being an expert coder I used it as a learning experience and I've had the 2nd inventory working in previous games. However using the verbcoin I initially encountered the issue that the verbcoin wouldn't appear in the 2nd inventory GUI.

I managed to overcome this by replicating the code that deals with inventory clicks to include the 2nd GUI - however the actual act of clicking the interaction buttons doesn't do anything.

I have spoken to members of the community directly regarding this who have advised me to create my own verbcoin, as the templates code is a bit messy and broken so I'm in the process of doing that, however for my own piece of mind and knowledge can anyone advise on the code within the template that effects the above?

Thanks

Hi All,

I'm using a GUI which pops up when you move the mouse to the bottom of the screen - like so:

I'm utilizing the tween module to smoothly move it from below the screen rather than it just appearing.

When you click the button it opens up the inventory GUI... thusly:

All working fine... except, when the button is moving it ghosts out... also when I click on something in the inventory (which obviously is a seperate GUI) it ghosts out the button GUI and the left of the inventory GUI... like so...

Any ideas? - Just incase it matters I'm using a heavily modified version of the verbcoin template...

Thanks in advance

Hi all,

I'm wondering what the easiest way to implement a broken sword style dialogue system where the inventory is displayed during a conversation with an NPC and clicking on the inventory starts a conversation around the item?

Can't seem to find anything covering this.

Thanks in advance.

Well done guys and thank you for this absolute gem.

Hi all & thanks again for all the kind comments and support.

I've fixed all reported bugs and the game can now be downloaded via the original link: Here!

The only stumbling block I encountered was the issues with the saving/restoring of games... It's not an easy fix given the noise effect etc. so, given the relatively short length of the game (it is after all a playable 'trailer' of sorts) I've elected to remove the option of save/restore.

In addition to bug fixes I've also added:

*A new scene with an important new character
*a couple of new puzzles (Including one that resolves Mandle's pet hate!!!)
*Additional dialogue to flesh the characters out a little

Please, download, (or re-download) and let me know what you think...

remember, this game acts as a prologue to a planned series of games - updates on the first full episode (including screenshots can be found here... http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=53313.0

Thanks again for all of your ongoing support (especially Mandle & Shadow1000 for their keen eyes and comprehensive bug reporting!)

Hi guys, and thank you for your really kind comments - despite playing around with AGS for some time this effort represents the first time I've had the confidence in my ability to actually put something 'out there' so to read such complementary comments is really really encouraging.

@mandle & @shadow - thanks for spotting those bugs, I'll look into & fix those. again, limited experience in actually getting to this point means I probably didn't put enough time into the testing - we'll call it a learning curve.

I'm hoping to have the first full episode entitled 'It Never Rains' (which is set 8 years after It's Always Darkest) out by October time. so thanks again for the encouragement.

Presenting...

A Supernatural Noir Horror

AGS Page: HERE

September 30th 2008.
It's been three months since 'The Abacus Killer' claimed his first victim. The only clue, the figure 8 painted by the body.

Since then he's claimed a further two victims, each time a number left at the scene, counting down - but to what?

DCI Warren Blake, over worked and under pressure is called to the scene of a further murder - has Abacus claimed a fourth victim?

This horror themed point and click adventure game, set in modern day England and with Noir overtones acts as the prologue to the 'I Can't Sleep In Silence' series currently in production HERE

Thanks again for the support.

I've added a playable prologue teaser - set 10 years before the start of the 1st game. it's a self contained (albeit short) game, and can be found here.

feedback appreciated.
