Cool... thanks for the indepth crit. I really like the edit, I like the new glair on the S and the position of the subtitle, I also like the 'Another worlds' style character. I have taken your edit and edited the shading a bit, making the left side of the face darker. What do you think? Plus is it ok to use your edit in my game?

Looks MUCH better. Good edit. Honestly, I don't mind you using it. I'm just happy someone is doing something with the Farscape universe. :D

No way.  The glare on the S is what makes the title.

Not when the glare is being cutoff....notice how it looks REALLY wrong when the glare is created but ends for no apparent reason. I suggest he remove it or include the whole glare.

BTW, the character looks like something out of 'Out of this World' or Flashback. Not a bad thing either. haha :D

EDIT: Even though no one cares about my professional opinion, Ill still put up my version of the title screen.

More colors make it feel lively and most of the time welcomed by gamers. :)

Reasoning behind it. The title is brighter with a neon yellow. This directs the viewers eyes to the title first. Then to the subtitle. To prevent the viewer from spending too much time on the background (stars), I lowered the contrast, making the stars appear grey. This also allows the viewer to focus more on the title and character than anything else.

Its okay to create a color theme out of the whole image, but since the brightest color in your image was the stars themselves, it distracts from the image itself, which is suppose to be a title screen. Also, the general color (tan) used in the image makes it feel flat. There isn't much differentiation between lights and darks.

Not bad, I like it. I think it would look better without the glare on the S in Farscape.

It can use a little more shading in the character too. Looks good nonetheless.

The biggest mistake a lot of young artists have is the straight back syndrome. No human has a straight back, we are build to have a very specific curvature. If you look at a human, you will notice an 'S' shape along the spine. If you can capture the S shape and apply it to your work, they will look more human instead of a really long stick stuck up there @$$.

Things I think you should rework is the blue cup girl (the way you drew it gives her the protruding head look. Its slanted in a way. Basically, if you don't apply the 'flip the page' technique, you will start to see these problems.) That applies to the Lydia stance. She looks as if she should fall over. Her shoulders are to manly, and her boots are to big. The last thing I think you should fix is the last image. Her eyes look REALLY weird. I'll be brutal. She looks like she has down syndrome and a stroke victim. Her eyes are melting off her face!

Im only being critical mainly because these type of criticism truly pushes the artist to there limits. Without painful criticism, no one would improve.

The game '30 Days' from Frogwares is a good example of Wellsian design. Trains to airships to giant boats. Its a beautiful game, besides the horrible voice acting (gay sounding main character which says things that sort of put you off), horrible vehicle dynamics, and more!

Okay, enough about the game. The reason why I brought that up is the fact that the skies the limit to this. So, there is no reason why no one can submit some quality work!

@Evenwolf: What is that pic of the sky ship from? Stardust?

Is this related to Limbo of the Lost?

I kid. :D

If you want pixely, use the Mosaic filter in Photoshop.

His shoulders are sagging to much, giving him a very lazy british look with some sort of upper body weight. needs to show dominance in the upper body than the lower.

^_ Accidentally safed it at a low compression. >_<

Changes I made: Raised the waste, making legs feel longer. Reshaped the upper arms. Positioned the arms differently. Made the boots look less dorky by making them fit to body.

HG Wells....your question doesn't really make sense when its already stated that this is a HG Wells competition.

Thankfully finals are over. No more stressing. Hopefully things should open up for me this weekend.

So Dexter....I mean Nacho. Basically what you are saying is that you want the entries to have the same Anatomical sizes similar to LucasArts characters. Like for instance. The broad shoulders, he spatial distinction of each area of the body. Am I wrong?

Well if he wants to see LEC type sprites, then he should of said so in the first post. Its not fair to say such things if you didn't state the correct requirements.

Eeeer... Ok. I was meaning that I wanted sprites looking like the LEC ones as FOR THE SIZE.

And restrictions have been specified in the first post.

So, unless BradN wants to take this to the UN or the Supreme Court, I think we can go on with the contest...

. . .  :P

Ok, fine. Lets go to court......I kid though. :D Sorry.

By death, do you mean the player might face death, or does the player create the act of death.

Congrats on the default King.

Give us something awesome for next month.

I kind of wished a lot of people entered this comp. Sounded really interesting.
