Why is this even in the Completed Game Announcements? Its only a demo.

I like where this is heading, but like zabnat said, I think it would be best to start over. A lot of what you did still looks messy and out of place.

What direction are you looking for? Realistic? Cartoon? Painting-like? Horror?

Ok then.....but the thing that i have found with the other one is that it is glitchy and i just HATE the squareness of it

Its only square if you model things square.

DON"T GET ME WRONG THIS MODULE IS AWESOME!!!!!!! just it would be cool

Then use the other 3d modules.

@ Brad - Stick Figures in themselves can be a creative body to express an emotion, event, etc. Why would you be so naive as to assume they are not 'art' ? Although, I do get what you are trying to say.

Lower level than thumbnails? That's just a stupid thing to say. It's not as if I open Photoshop, and the finished image is there. I was never trying to pass off this 'style' as my own.

Hey I drew a stick figure, I should show it off to everyone. Get the point? Its not something that needs to be posted.

I like the pencil outline. It gives it more character and depth. Otherwise, it will blur into each other and lack definition.

Small input. Would the lights on the first pic, really be casting a shadow like that? If at all?

Wow, you guys are brutal..

i hope my work never pisses you off.

Your "work". It won't piss us off if it is actually your work.

I can put a lot of effort into a stick figure. It doesn't make it any less than polishing shit.

I can do all of what you did in two layers and in under 5 minutes.

Like Chicky, I really like the use of the font in Abandonia. It has some nice composition in it, especially the color scheme. Very earthy and classy.

The rest, I really can't comment on. Again, its like the film Chasing Amy, and getting made fun of for the fact that the main character can't accept that all he is doing is tracing someone elses work. lol

In another forum, a member posted the same thing, except a lot more extensive. Still, I can produce 1000 variations of one thing. That won't get me a job, or get me respect. It'll get me a "So, what will you do with it now?" comment. This is on a lower level than thumbnails.

Sure, you can adapt to styles, yet, you aren't doing this from scratch. You are still using other peoples work.

Now this took me 4 hours to do. It may not look like much, but a lot of effort was put into it. /sarcasm

Let me just say it now and save you the embarrasement from all your possible co-workers or future professors. IT'S SHIT!

Well, I need a point of reference. The last time I programmed in AGS was back in version 1.3.

My confusion was the whole room_Load function. I have no idea where it is, and anything that came close to it gave me errors. So, i'm going to disassemble the source and see how things work.

*Facepalm* Okay. I'm stupid. I forgot to open and close at the end of the function calls. >_<

Edit: Okay, thats the least of the problems. I do as told in both  basic and empty projects. When you run the project, the game starts but you can't drag around or move. It also starts in a blank spot of the background image. I noticed a lot of code within the global variables of your example. Also I noticed how the project is set to 320x240, yet the window is much larger. Why is that?

Is it possibe for you to supply the demo in editable format?

Damn it. Its crunch time at work. So I won't have any time at all for my entry. :(

Does this support repositioning the camera or just panning it? I presume the latter.
Yes, you can only turn and pitch the camera.

New version uploaded (and new demo) with high quality rendering when you stop looking around. :=

Sweet. I wanted to make a prototype of sorts which required a spherical Panoramic environment with the ability to reposition the camera when clicking on a hotspot (movement) then play a movement video.

All in High Resolution goodness.

Thanks again for this module. It did everything I needed it to do for my small project.

Curious, has there been any progress in allowing full 360 degree movement yet? I was thinking, maybe to do such a thing, instead of scrolling, we could render a 3d sphere and place a spherical texture over it. With hotspots place like the 3d modules.
I'm not quite sure what you're asking.
(a) Full 3d look around. This can be done with the Ags3d plugin in a similar manner to this module: render a cube map, and place 6 textured boxes around an immovable player. I made a demo of this a couple of years ago and the effect was quite convincing. A module-only approach is possible but would be painfully slow - two orders of magnitude slower than this module. I suppose it could be optimized a bit with say 4x4 pixel blocks which would bring it more in line speed-wise, but it would probably be pretty ugly in that case.
(b) Actual 3d movement through the scene. Not really possible with anything I've got, except perhaps some simple blocky scenes like in Ags3d.

Definitely speaking of A. I state 3d modules because that was the only way to simulate spherical mapping. What I wanted to do,  was have a 360 view and use video for movement transitions. Similiar to 'the Journeyman Project 3'.

Anyways, with the new Panorama 3d. You have just become my new Savior! :D Thank you!

This is hilarious. I've written two television series scripts, and about a week or so ago, I started planning a video game episodic series.

This might be the perfect time to do it. :D

Everyone needs to understand. An episode isn't just Act 1. An episode should contain at least three acts. Else, it wouldn't be considered an episode.

Would this be possible? I'm currently going between engines right now seeing what my best bet for a 360 engine would be.

Brad:

You probably bought the game using the old Cubecart store, which was hosted on the Wadjet Eye Games site.  When things became more busy for me and the traffic got too much to handle, I switched over to Plimus.  But, all teh orders are still archived.  If you go to http://www.wadjeteyegames.com/oldstore and enter you login info, you should still be able to nab your games.  Let me know if it works.  If it doesn't, give me a shout and I'll get you your copies.

Thank you for that! Never was redirected there, so I lost hope. It worked like a charm. :D

Yeah. You should of burned it on a CD! :P.
I think Dave can fix that for you :).
It's because then he had his own shop, now it goes through some company.

Exactly what went through my mind. I also bought a couple of other games.  Lost those too, except they were time limited....

Seriously, you guys should look into Steamworks. Selling it over Steam will definitely raise profits, especially for an independent game. Plus, the download sticks with you forever...

So there, thats my Steamworks plug for the day. lol

Hi brad.  By "link to original game" what are you referring to?

When you purchase the game a year or so ago, you were given an exclusive link to the game through email. I recall say it had an unlimited lifetime, but the link became 404.

FYI the demo link doesn't go straight to the demo file.

Anyways, I look forward to playing this. I wish the download link to the original game was still working. :( Damn it. I don't want to rebuy it just to play it....so I don't know.
