I had an hour spare and decided to throw together a quick track.

I doubt i'll use it for anything so if anyone wants to use it for a game they are welcome.
It should loop easily enough if you chop it at the right place

"Yes, oh omnipresent authority figure?"

Baldurs Gate!

Jaheira i believe.

Try this one,

"I'll find you, taffer!"

I wonder what the most obvious game quote is.. not counting mario ones.

"Forget about freeman"?

I do an awful lot of visual FX work on After Effects plus quite a lot of video editing.

Very brief examples of my work include;

So if you are in need of a digital fx guy, let me know.

Put the sound number on the right frame in the walk cycles view. No scripting needed :D

This sounds like the start of some elaborate fraud scheme... which culminates in you buying an island and hiring a security force.

I have to agree with cold's definition of freeware.

The only company ive ever seen sponsoring something like this is PC Gamer.. I think they sponsored the They Hunger mod for HL.

But generally to get a sponsor you would need a proven track record of delivering good games with solid content.

JC? Deus Ex? Though I dont remember that exact quote

"Guns, guns, GUNS! I thought I was gonna get your  car without too many holes in it, Vixen."

Guess the game.

Of course it counts.

I just hope you didn't use some fancy effects program that did all the work for you.  ;)

Well it depends on what you mean by 'all the work'

I used after effects and certainly didnt pixel it myself.

but i still had to do things like lighten his body in places and animate the masks and stuff.
Im not really sure what qualifies as 'animation'
#3414
heh does this count? Its hardly pixel art :p

An effects based ani comp... Yay one I can enter.

Count me in.
#3416
looks fun :p

Let me know if you plan on having voice acting.. I'd love to voice a Mr Man

Lets be honest though, the Mr Men books were rubbish.. you could brush your arse by a computer keyboard and write a Mr Men book purely by accident..

So lets hope youre better than the original Mr Men writer.

"Mr Hard Boiled sat up in his bed, the bloody dismembered corpse of Mr Apathetic lying across him... It occured to Mr Hard Boiled that he wouldn't be too bothered about the situation.."

Severance: Blade of Darkness.. Great combat system.. honestly... try it.

Space Rangers 2: Very fun.. except the shit RTS bits tacked on the end.

Oni: Fantastic fight system.. there are not enough games like this in the world.

I decided to enter this sprite jam... im not why i felt i should inflict that shit upon you but here we are.

In the year 2349, cyborg, men-in-black, style spies were introduced by the new jewish-islamic coalition for the freedom of mankind (JICFOM) to fight the evils of mutated processed cheese.

I was thinking about making a 2D character generator something like CHARAS  except for adventure games.  The user would first select a module which consists of a base and a number of components (i.e. Layers) Such as body parts, clothing , etc.  For each component there would be one or more variations from which the user could select.  When the character design is complete a definition file could be generated and fed into a client side compiler that would fetch all the necessary images and generate the specified composite for each frame in each loop.   The result could be a collection of PNG/Sprite files that can be imported into AGS  and perhaps some kind of def file that could be used by an AGS editor plugin to automatically import the character sprites, define the view(s), loops, frames, and AGS character.

Anyone would be able to upload new options for existing components.  The model author would be able to add new components  and would have moderator power over submissions.

Ahhhh, i see where you are going with this.

Sounds like a very cool idea.. essentially you are thinking of a doll system? I.e you can dress the sprite, change the head... stuff like that?

In that case i think flash is the way to go.

I assume youve seen the shitty flash adverts which encourage you to make some kind of emaciated anime avatar?.. Just hijack that in sprite form.. flash makes stuff like that easy.
