That seems quite harsh of someone! Not only posting it for you (without telling you) But then dismissing it as a Joke game!

Sill, who's laughing now eh?!! WHO'S LAUGHING NOW!!!!!!

I'd like someone to move Mittens Shooter in Non-Adventure Games catagory. It mean, it won a non-adventure game prize! I think it deserves to be upgreaded from joke game!

Mind you, this is un-connected (well, not ENTIRLY un-connected, as the move would presumably come under the remit of this hypothetical re-organiser), and something I've been banging on about for ages. So ignore me.

I thought the boobs were funny at first.

Then I thought they were minging.

then (after about 10 seconds) I thought they were just gratuitious and unpleasant (and a little in-considerate for those of a more conservative nature)

but it's gone now, so I can save these opinions for the NEXT guy to do it.

is it origionally American?!?!?! I'd be pretty surprised!

I used to like the AGS blackboard thing. But the only person who was ever on there at the same time as me was helm. And he just spent the whole time laying into me, which made me feel as if maybe it wasn't an ENTIRLY worthwhile use of my time.

I hate to be a cynic, but how serious is this project? Is there a web site? Is it an experienced team? Is there any industry knowlage in the team? What made you pick the AGS forum for recruiting?

I know it sounds harsh, but most people will immediatly assume this is a hoax!

I think people will be more trusting if you can show them pretty conclusivly it's not.

I don't know my capitols, but at least I have the decency to be embarassed by it.

I ALSO have a very weak grasp of global geography, because when I was going through school, they'd decided that this sort fo thing didn't need to be taught any more. WTF?!?!?!

I bought myself a world map poster only a little while ago, and spent a lot of time looking at it, hoping to diffuse the information into my brain. Then I took it home and left it at my parents' house by accident. But at least now I can just about tell you where lichtenstien is (although I probably can't spell it!)

I once got in great sheds of trouble, simply for making a joke about someone wearing girly pants.

The posts on THIS thread are shameful. There's PLEANTY of people *I* don't like, but I recognise when it's NOT ACCEPTABLE to just lay into people like this.

disgraceful.

I guess the only adventure game to make me actually ANGRY at how bad it is would be Escape from Monkey Island.

I mean, they were SO lucky to make the 3rd one so awsome, and we all KNEW it was pushing their luck to go for number 4 and it was SO SO DISSAPOINTING!!!

GAHHH!!!

What amazes me is the way they made it and decided to have constant fan-boy references to the origional two games, but almost none to number 3! As though number 3 didn't bring anything but a wedding to the seriese. Talk about an under-use of popular characters (*cough cough* murry *cough*) And I can't remember ONE joke that made me laugh, where there are simply BUCKET loads of laugh-out-loud jokes in CMI...

forget the feeble files, this is hardcore dissapointment! To make a more dissapointing game than this, would have to be equivalent of Run Hot being basically "Mika's Surreal Dream part 7: EVEN MORE WEE JOKES!"

Loom was just so blindingly linea and simple. Since the only thing you could do was cast spells by playing tunes, and the spells were all really specific ("turn hay into GOLD!") it was always really obvious what you were meant to be doing at any one time. Thus the only challange became to simply remember the tunes.

I enjoyed it quite a lot, but I can see why people didn't. I think that the story was also really quite contrived, but this was probably so that there were pleanty of reasons to use the really over-specific magical spells.

"Legend of Enchantia" was really bad (although I may have mis-remembered the name a little).

Yeah, that IS funny. Because like, your fake character, ALSO has a fake character, who like ALSO has a fake character, and so it's like the guy at the top is just someone pretending to be someone pretending to be someone pretending to be someone else!
I see what you've done there! Pretty damn clever! HAR DE HAR HAR

hey, not ALL of Europe is relaxed. We in the UK are JUST as uptight as America, and what's more, we were being uptight LONG before these flippin' colonials were being uptight!

We only saw Judie Finnigans Bra (not even a boob!) and the country's STILL realing with the shock!

I once saved my game on top of the cliff in Broken sword, just in tiny pawse in the action before some bald guy kills you. So narrow was this window of opertunity for me do do something that by saving I left myself no time to escape. Thus I fucked my saved game up completly, and had to start all over again, because there was no way I could get past it in the time I had left. I was quite cross, but I don't think it was unfair. I was just stupid.

I assumed it was because VPXT2 was too big for people to download. Mittens's been dowloaded lots more times than either of hte VPXT games (and I guess that most of the VPXT2 downloads are by people who've downloaded VPXT1) and I think this is because it's small, and based around forum folk.

I REALLY wish it'd be moved into the non-adventure catagory of the games page, as it's a bit humiliating to have my magnum opus beaten by a "joke game"... Gah! <further weeping>

ALSO: VPXT2 is NOT just the same as VPXT! Both games are entirly valid individually, because of the enormous game-play-changing impact that the against-the-clock element has in the sequil!!

Although this is probably just the proud parent in me talking. I just don't want to show favour to one of my kids over another!

[EDIT: Shit! I'm such a sore fucking loser! Sorry aoubt all this folks!]

much as I'd like to stifle the fact I feel this (because I like Squinky and his game), I'd like to say that those people who voted for Squink's Mittens shooter as being better than our Vegetable Patch Extreem Turbo 2 are wrong, and it pees me off!

Just because he put "Mittens" in the title everyone goes for that one instead...

squinky:
YOU'RE going to have a seizure?!?!?!?!

But seriously, well done. This just means I'll have to work EVEN HARDER for next year!

The last thing Maggie Thatcher did when she was in power was give McKellen a knighthood. I saw him on Jonathen Ross's program.

Still, I wouldn't do 'im. OR Orlando.

I've no problem with words starting to mean new things. But this just isn't one of those occasions. The people who say "my computer's being gay" when they mean they've broken are just making flippant homophobic comments simply because it's the current trend. We're not witnessing language develop here (indeed, people regularly interchange "gay" with "queer" "fag" and "bum boy" when talking about stuff that's broken, so let's not pretend it's about one work taking on a new meaning) it's just perfectly fine for people to say "people like that are GAY!" because no one ever tell's them to fuck off and die.

You wouldn't get away with it if you said "people like that are such blackies!" or "my computer's being such a nigger."

Would you just chalk that up to "a word slowly transforming into something new" - thus nothing to get upset about? Because I know a LOT of people who wouldn't! Even though "black" was a word for a colour before it was a word for a subset of society.
