I like the shampoo advert that sais:

If Panten can make your HAIR this shiny, just THINK what it could do for YOU!!!

Makes me laugh a little every time. (But then I go drink a bottle of panten just in case it's not just bad wording. Plus, Panten contains trace halucenagenics, and if you can get past the massive stomach upset you might get a little bit high off of it!)

Mitty

(I had to ask my dad for an explanation on that one a few days ago, since radio 4 wasn't telling me what it meant. hence it's in my mind! I suggest if you don't get the reference, you should say "Cypher" as your next comment, as it's the new film that's being compared to the Walter Mitty stories, and I want to go see it...)

(It was a Meat Loaf lyric you know. I was trying to be hip with you kids...)

my mum got a PS2 for her birthday, but mainly only plays tetris on it at the moment, as Tekken makes her feel exhausted (even though she wipes the floor with everyone. Damn her! She hid the manule in her room, so only she knows the secrets!)

I got her a copy of Ico, but she sais she has to finish Tomb Raider before she can play that. Only she never plays tom raider because it keeps crashing (it's on my PC, not the PS2).

Ico is really really good.

Does D-generation count as an adventure game? That game is brilliant!

"is a lemon and I want my money back!"

(I hope this isn't too long... it's a lyric though!)

Yeah. But you should be ashamed of us too!

I set up a cafépress shop simply to plop some of my old Destop backgrounds on stuff. I've naturally never tried to sell anything to anyone, but I bought one of my own hoodies and I really like it! It was probably too expencive, but then I'm not good with money...

The National Trust is kinda like pantomime. You have to throw yourself into it. The buildings are utterly utterly fascinating, and filled with incredible and bizzar details that most people miss when dragged around them as a child.

Me and my hubbie went to one near the terribly dull city of Derby to descover in the first room there were paintings of Jesus (equipped with beard and age) suckling at a ladies boobie, and a hoofed child dragging a severed cow's head by a ribbon! We tried and tried to find an explanation, but the woman was both too ignorant to explain te back-stories and too slow to make something up for us. She was terribl friendly though.

And also: You're missing the main point...

CREAM TEAS!!!!

CREAM!!!

TEAS!!!

(they're LIKE a coronary, but with a choice of jams...)

Archangel: The answer is almost certainly 2.

I feel sorry for his school friends. I bet he hasn't shut up about it for weeks.

But seriously folks: "Nescafé"? I don't think the Gen forum needs THAT sort of smut. Can we PLEASE keep to varieties of tea please (preferably in a square bag... Pyramid bags are ok if that's your sort of thing, but I don't think we need to hear about it).

I'll be in Derby on Sunday and Monday, then I'm buzzing around a lot, but if anyone ever wants to meet up in Manchester some time (perhaps in a few weeks, perhaps in a few months), I don't need an excuse to go there!!! Birmingham's convenient, but Manchester is the best city in the UK by loads!

I believe his secret has something to do with silver bells, cockle-shells and little maids all in a row... Although I may have forgotten the exact wording of the rhyme...

anyhoops, I'm looking forward to this issue as well. I may even print it off to keep (it'd be ALMOST like having something m0ds had touched! Then I could put in under my pillow and the next day he'd either ask me to marry him... or maybe get an itchy nose... I can't remember that either. It's been such a long time since I was in the playground, I'm out of touch...)

These icons make me feel like I'm picking a National Trust property out of the member's booklet (yeah, I'm a member! If there's one place you can pretty much guaruntee a Cream Tea is on offer, it's a National Trust café) to go to for a day out.

They have symbols that are very cryptic, and some of them seemingly of very limited usefulness.

The only downside of this is that I can only look at the AGS downloads page at night. Otherwise, I'm too reminded of the National trust booklet, and turn off my computer to scamper off and start planning a day out instead of playing games. It's not so bad in the winter, when most NT places are closed...

So over all: Icons GOOD

(p.s. I apologise to those of you who neither know or care what the National Trust is... PARTICULARLY those outside the UK. Those INSIDE the UK who don't know what the NT is have never lived, and CERTAINLY not got excited about a secret toilet built for King George...)

(p.p.s. I apologise for my even-more-horrendous-than-usual spelling. I'm currently typing on a lap-top, and the keys are horrible!)

I apologise for starting a new topic for this, but I'm sure I saw a topic round here asking for the increase of the number of objects you're allowed in one room. I would just like to add my clamoring desire for this to be seriously upped, as I've often found myself having to take the really long way around a programming issue due to the limit on the number of objects we can have...

I know this is probably something that comes up a lot, but a serious inrease in the number of objects per room would be a crystal boon for me (and probably a lot of other folk)... Not least because it would make it more feasable to have large scrolling locations, rather than breaking things up into little rooms (which isn't always satisfactory! sorry!)

Anyhoo, please could this be considered (if it's not being considered already!) as this object limit is the only stumbling block I ever regularly come across with AGS as a language!!!
#295
Well Squinks, I'm just about to get round to hounding you to agree to work with me on a serious and awe-inspiring new game. I just have to see what happens about the number-of-object-in-a-room issue to check how horribly hard the thing is going to be to make.

You'd say yeah though wouldn't you? It's only going to be a HEAP of work! And it might even come at a more reasonable pace than the VPXT2 stuff did!!!

1) Spyros is my son
2) I married it, and had ONE child by it who we names Spyros
3) yes AND no
4) DOWNLOAD MY GAME!!!! (I never found out about the chinchilla one, so this one is new and about vegetables, and I don't kno anyone with any swing on a proper freewre site for it to get some reviews, and it's summer so I'm away from my computer so I can't make a web site for it to be hosted on Sylpher's lovely and generously donated web space!!! I WILL GET ROUND TO MAKING A WEB SITE FOR IT THOUGH!!!)

P.s. HELLO!

P.p.s.  really hope I spelled Slypher right!

I live (when not at Uni in Derby) not far from the Brecon Beacons. I'm not sure how impressed people would be by your having climbed Pen Y Fan if they'd been there themselves (or maybe I've only ever gone up the wussy side of i   ;) )

On the other hand

EXPODITIONS ARE COOL!!!! I'm jealous.

ANDAIL HAD LEFT!!!!!!?!??!?!?!????

I didn't know you'd gone (I'm rather dense really) and if I HAD known, I'd have kicked up a fuss and told people to send supportive and needy e-mails to get you to come back! I haven't read the threateningly long .doc file, because I'm too dense to really get anything from it (I bet it's all clever and shit) so I can't comment on it. WELCOME BACK ANDAIL!!! WE NEED YOU TO PROTECT US FROM M0DS!
#299
nit-picking eh? is that why you never wear clothes?

but point taken. Perhaps I should take more notice of those signs on the back of busses

"Spelling kills! KILL YOUR SPELLING!!!"

Anyone else seen them?...

...must just be a Derby thing then.

how about "origionality quest" as the competition title?
