I loved the business with the broom cupbourd in Spider Man 2... THAT seemed like classic Raimi to me. Although the hospital scene was CLEARLY evil dead throwback!

I thought it was interesting how much better Spider Man 2 was to the origional. I think it was mainly to do with the feel of Evil Dead Playfulness in the newer one...

Wasn't Abstauber in some way connected with The Crow's Nest..? No? Hmmm... I wonder where I got that idea...

why not start your own "Bet you never saw this coming" thread to announce your "good friendship".

ha ha ha, that made me laugh

And "JurrASHic Park"... THAT was one crossover movie too far...

I bet it turns out a massive dissapointment. I WANT it to be amazing and cool and as good as the first 3, but I just... can't... bring myself... to believe... it...

I think that it is important to let your parents know you're gay. I used to think that my sexuality was "none of their business" but that was just making excuses because  I knew REALLY that telling them was the only respectful thing to do. Also, I feel it's important that people make the most of their parents who, if we like them or not, won't be around forever. I've never met anyone yet who has lost a parent and HONESTLY didn't care, and that INCLUDES teenagers who've lost their mothers during their "I hate my mum" period of their lives.

Even if they have a hard time coming to terms with it, your parents love you and deserve to have a role in your life and be told. One thing is for certain, they CAN'T be supportive if they don't know there's anything to support you over, even if "supportivness" isn't the first town they visit on the emotional highway out of "Shocked, angry and confused" city.

General Discussion / Re: What is this film?

I saw existenze, it was really REALLY crummy and a ham-fisted attempt to be clever and cool... But then again I'm a snob. Sorry.

If the guy doesn't know Peter's gay then how can it be considered that he's discriminating against him by cracking anti-gay jokes?

Don't get me wrong, I don't think that anti-gay jokes are ok, but if this guy wasn't aware of Peter's sexuality then he won't have been making them as a direct dig at him, so it doesn't count as discrimination, no matter how little he enjoyed it.

I recon boyds avatar further up this thread is pretty hot. Is that from an adventure game? If not, it SHOULD be... "The AGS Member in: MEMBER QUEST"

He'll it's gotta be worth a download.

General Discussion / Re: Books V.S. Movies
Tue 18/01/2005 16:39:09
It's very easy to whine about poorly represented books on screen, but it's important to remember that just because a film is crummy doesn't destroy the book it was based on. They're not going to stop publishing the origional book and only publish the screenplay from now on. Nothing gets LOST except the oppertunity to make THAT film differently.

I thought it was impressive that the writer of the origional "Queer as Folk" (which was a highly acclaimed british drama which suffered in many members of the publics eyes because of it's explicit gay content) said that he didn't mind the subsequent American version being totally different because it DIDN'T take away from his origional work.

If someone who's had massive liberties taken with his stories like that can be sanguine on the matter, what possible justification can audience members have for not being?

I recon a gayifying bomb sound totally GENIOUS! non-leathal mind-fuck warfare should be the future!

Not so sure about the bad-breath-bomb though...

the carpet fluff just requires you to "use" the floor in the room just next to the red curtain... Unless I'm shamefully mistaken!

Edge is horrible! It's one of those magazines that actually puts me OFF games if they say their good! It's really REALLY vile and snooty! I guess this is their "Style" but it just reminds me of the big fat stuck up nerd in our lectures who wears a "bloodfest" t-shirt, a ridiculous leather jacket and orange shades ALL THE TIME while being sychphantic to the lecturers and saying stupid (but un-justifyably sef-assured) things really loudly. AARG!

General Discussion / Birthday Boy Hurray!

hurrah! It's my birthday!
I got a Ludo board and a copy of "Freddie got fingered" and a tarpauline and a photo album and a CD wrack so far! AND some money! Woo hoo!

Saddly there are no AGSers in Derby who I can go and look at to celebrate, but Ã, if there WERE I'd go and celebrate at them.

Hurrah for being 22!

General Discussion / Re: RPGs anyone?
Mon 08/11/2004 10:37:32
I don't usually enjoy Eastern Style RPG's, but I liked Zelda: Wind Waker.

Western style RPG's float my boat a LOT more. I liked morrowind, all of Baldur's Gate, PlaneScape, but the BEST RPG of ALL time was "Dungeon Master"

Eye of the Beholder was good too....

And Heimdall 2, although I don't know if that's an RPG as such...

My top score on this one at the moment is is 913467720, but I'll have to re-set because with the top score that high, I'll never be able to get the top score AND all the chapter thingies to progress...

I think I'll see if I can beat all the levels again, then post my top score when I get to FREE PLAY mode at the end...
