Cheers to all for the positive comments so far, and for the helpful info on the startup issues. I think I might know what the issue is. I will ask about it in the tech forum for further details.

I hope so, because I've tried all sorts of things - putting them on the C drive, in another folder, in and out of folder, re-downloading and re-installing, and nothing works.

Just in case it's relevant I'm running Windows 10 (32-bit) and my cheapo desktop PC only has a graphics card that's actually designed for laptops.

Now how can I prove that? :P ..and what's the source of doubt here? :D

No need to provide proof mate, just wondered!  It's a somewhat unusual type of game to be made in AGS (not unheard of, but not particularly usual!) - and more so that this was your very first post on the forum.  Again not unheard of but sometimes when someone shows up here for the first time it can be because they're  advertising their game anywhere they can find and it's not necessarily a game they made with AGS.

Anyway now that's out of the way  welcome to the forum and all the best with development of your game!

Could you define the minimum dimensions of a banana considered to be "giant"?

Interesting theme.  Surprised guitars aren't included somewhere though!

just checking, was your game made with AGS?

Hmmmmm...I wonder:

Game features & details:
¤ 800x600
¤Direct3D9
¤32-bit colour

:P

That's not definitive proof (wrong):-D

Looks vaguely like an AGS game. I can't say which though. :-\

Yeah it's... it's... it's... gah.  Book of something or Curse of something?  D'oh... I'm sure I played this a few months back but can't get the name into my head.

Thanks Kumpel!  Really happy you liked the voice acting, I think we were going to have other people involved but eventually to get it done Chris voiced 2 characters and I voiced all the rest, so I hope it didn't sound too much like the same guy!!

I play-tested it with my daughter and the moment we had finished playing it she shouted "AGAIN!"

It was a really fun project to work on.

Welcome Wombat!

This looks interesting, and is a type of game seldom made with AGS (not the first but it's rare) - just checking, was your game made with AGS?
#2612
Ah man, I mean seriously, who clicks "continue" when they've not actually started a game yet?!?!? :P

Gah... can't believe we missed this. :-[ Should have got my 5 year-old to test it...

Or one of the "Thief" games?

Oops I think that's what I meant when I said "Stealth"! (roll)

I was special too. For me the game started working after I moved it from my desktop to C:\Predators Prey For Plants\
Might be something to do with the paths to the files getting too long for AGS to handle or something ever more cryptic than that? Not sure, really, but got it running now! ^^

You could be onto something there (although I have it in the same directory as a load of other AGS games, but maybe it's one over the limit or something?) - I'll try sticking it in the root directory.

And I was trying to tie the rope to the axe and wondering why it did not worked! (laugh)

Hehe!  Well, as soon as I read the comment about leaving his last grappling hook behind, I knew what the "rope" was for - but if I'd actually found the axe before that, I might have thought the same as you

Terrific aesthetics and atmosphere!  Really hope you expand this so we can find out what the true story is.

Typical problems of a game that had to be finished before a punishing deadline - missing hotspots and interactions - and the opening very short time limit almost put me off right at the start, but glad I stuck with it.  Intriguing stuff.
