Not battleships... you're right that it's about Europe, in fact (huge hint) that's in the title.  This is the sequel to another strategy game that also had Europe in its title.

@Mandle - no, it's not a computer game adaptation of Dr Strangelove!
@Adeel - nope, neither of those.

I did choose a slightly trickier screenshot, but... the clue is there.  There's a bit clue in terms of...

Spoiler
what part of the world the map is showing

Nope (I like how that would be seen as topical though!).

Thought I'd choose something topical... 8-0

Sounds like my kind of game, a coloured Sodoku! :-D
Unfortunately, I can't download it. :~(

Now you can!

"Sudoku with colours" was exactly my idea for this game.

Fun concepts, although I find the rules a little hard to grasp.

Each square's colour can be changed by clicking the left mouse button.  In every line across and down, you are not allowed to have a repeated colour.  I hope that makes sense now?  Maybe I got so used to it that I haven't explained it very well!

Also I think I encountered a bug. The first large grid I generated had a white square, which I couldn't change the colour of.

Ah man I was sure that bug had gone for good!  I did encounter it once or twice early on in development, thought I'd fixed it and have never seen it again.  Sorry!  If that happens you'll just have to go back to the menu and try again, it shouldn't happen and at this stage I don't know why it does. :-[

Completed Game Announcements / Colour Clash

I made this little puzzle game to help teach myself AGS scripting.  I'm not going to take it any further now so publishing it - all you have to do is rotate through the colours (LMB) and ensure that there are no repeated colours in any vertical or horizontal line.  Takes a little bit of doing on the biggest grid.

(4 grid sizes - the smallest is ridiculously easy, I did that just as proof of concept so I knew my basic idea would work, but I'd be very impressed if anyone can beat the largest grid in under 10 minutes first time round.)

(rats it's somehow gone on twice, at http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/2069/ too, could someone delete the latter please and let me know so I can remove this message?  Thanks!)

Jun-25   14:00   Switzerland   0   vs   2   Poland    Have a feeling Poland will be too strong for the Swiss
Jun-25   17:00   Wales   1   vs   0   N Ireland       Two incredibly gutsy sides, but I think Bale will make the difference between them
Jun-25   20:00   Croatia   3   vs   2   Portugal      I can see this being a bit like the Hungary vs Portugal game, but thing Croatia will edge it
Jun-26   14:00   France   2   vs   1   Rep Ireland    France should edge this, even though they've not been at their best - yet
Jun-26   17:00   Germany   2   vs   0   Slovakia      Can't see past a Germany win here
Jun-26   20:00   Hungary   1   vs   2   Belgium       This one's fascinating.  Belgium should win though.
Jun-27   17:00   Italy   1   vs   0   Spain           Intriguing tie.  Think Italy will just nick it.
Jun-27   20:00   England   1   vs   1   Iceland       Could well end in a tie.  England will dominate possession but have been a bit toothless up front and susceptible to the counter-attack.

Mandle your game looks really interesting! But then I always loved the game Pirates! so I may be a little biased... :-D

I think Adeel's hunch about the artist was right - that looks like Andrea's style all right, from Donald Dowell.

I'll pass my turn to Adeel though (assuming I'm right of course!).

Mandle, you seem to have everyone stumped... perhaps time for another screenie?
#2732
Hehe I like the look of that mini-game.  Grats on getting near)(ish?) the end of development!

You do only mean you have a functional blaster in the game, right?  RIGHT?!?

Looking forward to seeing this.  Will it be relatively obvious how to trigger each of the alternate endings?

Some weird results in this tournament so far!

I see my predictions were for tonight were England and Russia to win... I'm not so sure about either tbh!!

Patience you must learn!

Haha thanks Mandle!

The new voice acting by Mandle and SinSin is great btw. ;-D

Oh and one final piece of news - not directly for Captain Disaster, but for all my game creation, voice acting and blogging endeavours - I've started up a Patreon campaign.  Any support will be very much appreciated!  (CD coming out is in no way dependent on getting a certain level of funding, btw - it will happen anyway!)

Well my predictions for the last 3 days have been pretty abysmal, I have much to thank Schweinsteiger for with his injury time goal that got me full wildcard points!!
#2738
Whoa this league table has certainly got closer since I looked at it yesterday!!

Maybe you could set a bool to skip the routine once it's been done?

It's funny that most of you expect a large victory of France over Albania tonight.
Let's refresh your memory :
14th November 2014, France-Albania : 1-1
13th June 2015, Albania-France : 1-0

Well all my other predictions for today's matches have been woefully wrong, so...
