Congrats LostTrainDude and Kastchey!!

You did a great job with this and I'm only sorry that I was able to offer so little help.  Although glad Anread liked the SFX :P

Thanks Shaun!

We... erm... we left a couple of bugs in on purpose?! :-[

A few people have mentioned the baseline problems and I don't really know what we can do about it, but we shall do our best!

This looks really nice!  For some reason the style reminds me a little bit of Out of Order (made with SLUDGE) - which can only be a good thing! ;-D

Congrats on the release.

Hmm... is that a young Jenny Agutter?  I think this is Walkabout.  Probably just after pa shot himself. >:(

Congrats on the release! :grin:

Hmm... these Mess Goblins could explain a lot actually.  Do they proliferate when you have children?

Thanks everyone (and thanks Mandle for the bug reports - might invite you to join the official test team! :P

Re: narrator voice - actually I wanted something that would stand out as very different to the rest of the game.  I'll wait to see what other people think - you're the first person to actually give an opinion on it (I mean officially, outside the dev group and testers.)

Really glad people are enjoying it. ;-D

Cassie - Coming soon.  Gonna set up an itci.io account soon and put it there.  (Actually I'll PM you a link.)

EDIT - I've popped it in my Dropbox and set that up as a mirror on the AGS Games Page.  So if anyone was not able to download via GameJolt, you can now use that.

Thanks guys and gals! :-D

@BSP -
Spoiler
Combining the trolls isn't really covered in the inventory, it was something that I wanted people to suddenly realise they could do - it is (I think) a somewhat unusual feature in an adventure game and I didn't want to make it too obvious, though I hoped that the other trolls appearing as inventory items would be enough of a clue.

The always worth reading "Following Freeware" feature at AdventureGamers.com is out, and as usual several AGS games are featured. ;-D

@NickyNyce - thanks buddy!
@AnasAbdin - look, not all of us can produce games at a stupidly rapid rate like your good self! :P  Thanks. ;-D

Now in the AGS Games Directory - sorry didn't have time last night.

Okay, the full game is not finished yet but the first verse is fully made, tested, tweaked, re-tested, re-tweaked, dusted, polished, squashed, sat on, squashed by being sat on, shouted at, caressed, lovingly praised, tested one last time and finally released as freeware!  Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

So, the old demo really wasn't up to the quality of the game that we've been making.  The complete Verse One that we're just released is (not saying we won't find ways to add to or improve it further before the full game is released of course! :grin:)

I had a decent gaming rig when 3 and 4 came out (though I couldn't run 4 in anything like the highest settings) - fortunately by the time that rig broke irrevocably and I was forced to use a massively under-powered laptop, it was announced that 2 was going to be 2D so I could still play it. :grin:

If anyone's interested I'm running a poll on my G+ page to see which Broken Sword game people's favourite in the series is.  If you want to vote head over to:

(I'm expecting it to probably be a straight fight between 1 and 5, though personally my favourite is 2.)

Hi guys and gals

A whole two years after the demo was launched, we present "Verse One" in its entirety.  (Don't worry, the full game won't take a further two years to develop.  At least I sincerely hope not!)

This now represents the quality of the full game, which the demo stopped doing some time after Jim and Andrea (Dualnames and AprilSkies) started working on it.  There's even a tutorial and hint system for those of you who aren't familar with adventure games! :-D

Sorry dude I'm getting the feeling that I've never seen or heard of this game.  Even Gribbler doesn't seem to know it!  (Therefore, it probably doesn't actually exist. :P)

The characters look a bit stiff though, as if they were 3dmodelled characters in a computergame (roll) :-D

Don't be daft, they're just standing to attention. :P
