Firstly, congrats on the nomination! ;-D

Secondly, LostTrainDude did a nice review of this game for my site - http://www.indiegamenews.com/2014/02/indie-adventure-game-review.html

Theo was kind enough to take time out of his busy schedule and working on episode 2 of The Journey Down to do an interview for me.  Thanks Theo!

Don't even joke about that stuff man, too soon, too soon

Sorry man, the loss of your wooden sword has obviously affected you more deeply than I realised!! (roll)

Have only recently had a chance to play it, and I have to say that it's quite brilliant.  Love the humour too - especially the DOOM SQUIRREL's voicing and the way the old wizard talks.

Your copy has been hacked by animal rights campaigners, who saw you kick the poor helpless little squirrel OF DOOM and decided you had no right to a reward such as a wooden sword.

Spoiler
Go to the area you saw in the dream, by the tree with the sword stuck in it - the wooden sword is still there.

Can you provide a screenshot?
Ah.  I was going to, but the colours were  more messed up from doing that (the colours in my screenshot are not true to the colours that were on the screen when I took the screenshot).  Using DirectDraw5, the colours were fine in windowed mode, they were different when I played it full-screen.  I couldn't run the game using Direc 3D 9, either in windowed or fullscreen mode.

Probably a weird bug to do with my graphics card - it's an ATI Radeon Mobility 4250HD - not a great card.  Although I don't recall having this issue before.  Anyway it's not a big issue, just weird!

Yes, that's the room and I did complete the game.  All of those pink objects were green on my PC though?!?!?!  I'll have another look and see if I was imagining it... maybe so much pink had addled my brain. :-D

Also, Rex's trunks were white on my screen, not blue as in all the screenshots I've seen!
#4071
Hadn't seen that, thanks.

Well, that was... different!

Couldn't work out why all the stuff in the pink room was green though!?!?

When a small group of his former comrades manage to free him, Yssan embarks on a journey to discover his true identity

That would make for a cool origin of Yssanspirit Dennis! Is one of the former comrades wearing a really nice felt hat? The possibilities! (nod)

Perhaps in the sequel... also, Akoanthia may be synonymous with Reality on the Norm, who knows?

Did you find the bottle of wine? From frozen water, go to east.

Ah... no I haven't.  Will have another look!  Thanks.

EDIT - right, thanks, didn't relaise there was another screen to the right - thought I'd gone as far as I could.

Spoiler
Okay, playing as Sissi, now I'm naked and need to get the bikini back before I exit, talking to the monk at the entrance doesn't bring up any new dialogues and I can't see anything new anywhere... clue please!

Had already used on both.  How is that meant to help?  Tried walking on the frozen water / interacting with it but that didn't bring up anything new.

Voted.  2 very strong entries I took a while to choose between, congrats to all for finishing their entries on time though - I know how difficult that is!

Got the pills. taken the pills, but can't find any new objects (or locations)... must be missing something?
Tent, Frozen Water, Hole, Pink Room, Door, Door to Study Room... don't think there are any other hotspots, please give me a pointer to what I'm not seeing / doing!  Thanks.

Funny and some clever puzzles.  Nice one!
#4078
Hmm... haven't entered one of these for a while!  Nice theme.

First Paragraph

I awoke to the sound of a silent scream from a distant dream, voices of the dead echoing in my head.  As my dulled senses came back to me, memories came back to me â€" memories of terrible cruelty, abominable acts, intolerable atrocities.  I had been told by my captors, time and time again, that I had been the perpetrator of these evils â€" yet something deep inside of me told me that they were lying.  Yet the memories, the dreams… I couldn't deny them, couldn't rid myself of them.  The sound of approaching footsteps reached through the stupor of my drug-induced state through to my consciousness.  They were coming.  Again.

Blurb

Imprisoned and tortured for the worst atrocities the land of Akolanthia had ever know, Yssan Allondor faced years of suffering, but a nagging doubt over his own guilt plagued him almost more than anything done to him by his gaolers.  When a small group of his former comrades manage to free him, Yssan embarks on a journey to discover his true identity â€" and in doing so, uncovers and incredible secret about the land of Akolanthia itself.

Yay! - 5 whole entries!  I've already played 3 of them. ;-D

A really interesting experience.  Perhaps not very much actual gameplay but I enjoyed it while it lasted, and those very blocky graphics worked superbly and somehow managed to be quite beautiful at times!
