Heh... sadly I can only remember the name of the one I've played.  I have a feeling I've seen that screenshot on gog.com, but I don't know the name of the game - I'm sure someone else will know it!

Hmm... is it a Tex Murphy game?  I've only ever played one of them (Under a Killing Moon) - have to admit the trailer for the new one looks fun!

[Ocean Spirit Dennis MEGA QUEST: Ponch Runner]

Here is an Idea  A women  had a dream. She  is working for as an FPI agent. She has to find this criminal. She soon realizes that her dream came to  reality. The criminal lock's her in her dream. Now her kids must safe their mother and find the criminal.

Then it turns out that the kids are actually the villains, the dream is a dream within a dream and thus closer to reality than the reality that had previously been known, and the world has been taken over by robots.  Meanwhile an asteroid is going to crash into earth and Bruce Willis in contract-tied so it's up to YOU to save the planet.  Also giant robots are coming to fight other giant robots, and then eventually team up to destroy the mutants, who are in control of the robots (not the giant ones) that have taken over the world.  Eventually the robots end up realising that they are somehow losing the battle and will have to send a humanoid robot back in time to destroy the human who might destroy the robots or something.  I shall name this game Ocean Spirit Dennis MEGA QUEST: Ponch Runner.  For the sequel, the mutants will unite against the giant robots, and the original robots from the future that has now not happened will send back another humanoid robot to stop the first humanoid robot from doing... whatever it is that the first one was supposed to be doing / has done / will do.  Eventually we will have to do a huge reboot of the whole thing or make an alternate universe.

Now THAT would be a cool game.

"Ancient Aliens - The Roots of Time follows the exploits of a jazz musician whose life turns upside down when his father dies.  It's a traumatic event in itself. but when people start showing up and and being intensely interested in the research that his father had sent him, things start to get complicated.  Can the beautiful woman who claims to have been a colleague of his father's be trusted?  Who are the henchmen who are now after him?  Just what is his father's mysterious research project that can apparently change the world anyway?

Beautiful graphics, a moody jazz soundtrack and intelligent puzzles make this an encouraging start to what promises to be a very interesting game series.  There is some unnecessary innuendo and the game is admittedly very short, but it's highly enjoyable and certainly makes you want to find out what's happening in the next episode."

[Ancient Aliens - The Roots of Time]

Since no-one seems to want to start the ball rolling... (this is completely without coercion from Miguel!!(laugh) - this is the game that I enjoyed most from the recent batch of releases):

My pick for this month is: Ancient Aliens - The Roots of Time

I guess part of the reason I chose this game is because of where it seems to be headed as well as what it is - being the first episode of a series, it's pretty short.  However the aesthetics were wonderful, the puzzles were very well implemented, and the characters / story certainly made me want to see what happens in the next episode.  It's not perfect - the pixel hunting in one location frustrated me a little and the innuendo was unnecessary - but the game as a whole was extremely enjoyable and a very promising set up for what looks set to be an epic sci-fi adventure set on a background of jazz music.

[Plumber Boy]

Plumber Boy turned out to be a rather nice - if fiendishly difficult 8-bit style platform puzzler.  Well I say fiendishly difficult, but I suck at those games so maybe it isn't.  Has a real retro charm about it.

If you like retro platformers, you should definitely check it out..

So, just to clarify... we're supposed to nominate our pick of the month and write a short description of it in this thread?

Story Elements/Idea - JWalt
Atmosphere - JWalt
Technique and composition -Anian (I like JWalt's image but the perspective looks kind of off to me)
Functionality - JWalt (clearly for traditional 2.5D, Anian's would work better, but with the characters already in place, you can really see how JWalt's idea would work.)

I'm most interested to see if JWalt's idea turns into an actual game!

Or just ZIP all the files and you'll only have a single file for your host to deal with anyway.

@Oraxon - really like it, very surreal and great use of colour.

@Ascovel - Yours really gives the impression of danger, action and speed, but to me the right-hand panels just make it a little too busy - I think the left panels on their own would have made a better cover.  I like the way the parts are subtly but clearly set inside cells like a graphic novel though.
