Hm... The replies' topics are by default "Re: (whatever the topic was at the time)" and stay the same even if the original post's topic changes. So a quick look at the first reply will show you it was "The beard in the mirror is yours". Though I have to say I like your version just as much :)

Oh weird, I was absolutely certain I'd remembered it right!  Which just proves that my head really isn't a safe place to keep anything important.  :-

Still, looking forward to this game whatever it's called!

Besides, now that you've told us, we're going to feel that we're missing out on a great animated sequence if we get the smaller game.  8-0

It was "The Beard in the Mirror is not mine" if I remember rightly.

Sadly the new title is less awesome than the original  :(

I have to agree!   :~(

Just speaking personally, the larger file size wouldn't put me off at all.  I think the largest AGS game I've ever downloaded was 1Gb!

Good news!  Unhidden spoiler!  A cook that looks like LeChuck!  Release by end of the year (hopefully)! It's all good. :) :-D

Just curious (I do have ulterior motives but you'll probably only find those out much later!) - what games / parts of games do you feel did a really good job of creating suspense and tension?  Could be in terms of gameplay mechanics, puzzles, storyline, characters or whatever.  What made specific scenes in certain games suspenseful to you?

Some really amazing entries here.  Wouldn't want to meet any of them in the flesh...

Completed Game Announcements / Re: Skumring

I haven't had time to get very far into this but wanted to stop by to say that I'm finding it an enjoyably off-beat mystery game - and of course very nicely produced!

In a few months when it's released, The Apotheosis Project might be up your street as well.

Depending on exactly what your definition of techno-thriller is, I would have thought that both Gemini Rue and Resonance could fit the bill.
#4512
Now those are some seriously nice screenies!  ;-D

Terrific entries.  I'm going to have to go with Ghost for this one.

Did anyone else have the thought that possibly the John Hurt doctor might actually not be The Doctor but The Master, some kind of weird hybrid offshoot of the doctor who came into existence during the Time Wars?

(Probably just my weird brain... and the fact that this season of Dr Who is the first one I've watched since way back in the Colin Baker years!)

Star Wars is often classed as "Space Fantasy" or even "Space Opera", which just goes to show how indistinct some of the genre bindings are!!
#4516
That's an impossible question, unless someone has a particular love for one or other of the genres.  I've often seen bookstores lump them together as "Science Fiction & Fantasy" because there are many similarities between the genre.  Why not have elements of both in your game?

Drat it bbX1138, if you hadn't got here one minute before me, I would have been victorious!  VICTORIOUS I TELL YOU!

Wow I'm remembering just how annoying I found that scene in the film... it went on forever to make a point that it had made in the first few seconds.  >:(

Is it the unreleased Nelly Cootalot 2?

Nope! It's a game that's been around for less than 5 years though...

@Trampoline - yes indeed, that game was tremendous on so many levels!  ;-D

Okay this is probably a pretty easy one, but...
