Congrats on the release Lewis.

@Ponch - I shall call my epic "Indiana Rodent and the Legend of the Rich Dame who Cut the Cheese, and that's why the Lady is a Cat".
@WHAM - what, you mean you missed the subtle social satire, metaphysical, allogorical and pseudo-philosophical subtext of my story, and just thought I intended it to be a laugh?  :-D

I guess I'll have to be boring and vote for WHAM too, although I thought all the other entries were good and loved the twist at the end of Baron's story.

Most indie publishers are very reluctant to give exact sales figures (also, because of reports coming through at different times from different sources - Steam, Desura, IndiVania etc) it's often very difficult for them to even have a particularly clear idea of how many copies a game has actually sold.

Dave Gil has publicly released some information about the level of sales of different WEG games over time, but this was a comparative study without reference figures, so you can only see how games sold in relation to other games.

The only thing we can say with confidence is that adventure games sell enough copies for a small (but growing?) number of people to actually make a living from it.

The game will now probably suffer a slight delay... Cause, as all the Fathers on the forum surely know, amount of free time drops considerably with newborns:) BAD!

Yup, you're definitely right there - it's worth it though  :-D - congrats!

The lack of an actual blue cup is indeed a tragic blow to this game's chances, but I have to admit that I am intrigued.  Will definitely give it a look - congrats on the release!

"You've already voted, so you've got 19 days and 2 hours left to wait before voting closes!"

Yup, that seems to have got it.

Just tried that, still have the message I'm afraid.  Tried logging out and in again, and used Chrome, FireFox and IE... all the same.  :-\

It seems to me that YOU really feel that a different style and artist is needed.  Discussing it is good, but at the end of the day you're the publisher and need to be happy with the direction it's headed.

A thought though... have you asked these other composers what their ideas about the cover design are?
#4689
Also, even though they're different composers, would it not be a good idea to create an identifiable style for your own brand (as a publisher)?  I wouldn't think it would take anything away from the other composers.

You might also find that your artist can surprise you if you actually ask him to do something a little bit different.

Thanks Bicilotti!

I'm getting the big red "YOU HAVEN'T VOTED YET" sign even though I've done my votes and they seem to have gone through okay... do I need to vote again?

I've recently played Torin's Passage, which had a teleport option.  I did use it, sometimes it felt like a good feature, but to be honest I think the best option is for double-clicking on the screen exit to directly take you to the new location rather than having to walk there.  Unless your character moves really slowly to begin with, it shouldn't take long to reach something actually in the location; usually when you want to move quickly it's to another location, not within the same location.

Thanks to everyone who voted for Captain Disaster as best demo!  :-D

What has 4 legs for breakfast, two legs for lunch, and 3 legs for dinner?

A housebot with detachable limbs?

Welcome to all the new guys and gals!  Look forward to seeing what you come up with in the next few weeks / months / years.  :-D

Not sure about the specific programming issues but I think we got round this by quickly fading out the currently playing track on room exit and quickly fading in the new music for the next room immediately after this.  I'm pretty sure this is what we did for the Captain Disaster demo and the music doesn't skip even on my laptop (which it does for other games).

I think a lot of us were considering using them and have decided against approaching them.  I'd heard rumours before CBE Software issued a press release announcing they had cancelled their agreement with Lace Mamba and why - I have since seen on GameBoomers that Lace Mamba's European Managing Director has resigned.  I think it will take a very long time before they can try to establish themselves as someone indie developers will want to have dealings with again (if ever).

Wonder what you were drinking when you concocted those puzzles :)

Tea, of course - Earl Grey, hot.

It's still telling me I haven't nominated... if my nominations definitely didn't take for some reason I'll go through them again.
