lol I barely started the game (using the first team) and the inventory GUI went down and disappeared and wouldn't come back up. will play more later and edit this post.

That's weird.  That never happened to me while beta testing.  ???

Awesome!

It looks like you have a fairly sophisticated parser.  :=

The second one makes me think of 8-bit platform games!  Is that the intention?  I'm not really sure how suited it would be to an adventure game though - I actually like the first screen, perhaps with a bit more detail (said in the knowledge that I could never do anything half as good as what you've got already).

This looks really interesting - looking forward to seeing the finished game!

Anyway... back to talking about the actual game rather than the idiosyncrasies of the English language, huh?  (Incidentally I did point this out in testing but as already mentioned, it's a bit of a grey area and we all know what is meant by it, so hopefully not too big a deal  ;D).

I think this is a giant leap forward in Barefoot's game making - I really enjoyed testing it (even if the newt puzzle still doesn't make sense to me...  :P) - it's perhaps a little more straightforward than a lot of the classic games we know and love, but I felt it had pretty good atmosphere throughout.

To me the backgrounds look like they're scanned in watercolour paintings - at any rate, I think they look great!

The only perhaps "surreal" element might be that the items / characters stand out rather starkly against the backgrounds, but to be honest I don't think that's a problem.

Hmm...  I'd agree that Episode 3 has been the best so far, though I enjoyed it more as purely entertainment than an adventure game - no challenge really.  I liked the storyline and humour in Episode 4 ("That's my soon-to-be-ex-future-wife!"), but zero challenge in the puzzles.  I even felt that the hints were a bit heavy-handed in the game's dialogues and descriptions, (without the hint mode on I mean).

... systems analyst

Don't be daft, she's clearly a Complex Discharge Liaison Nurse.  (Yes, that is a real job title!)

The blue and black backgrounds remind me a little of Speccy games!  :D

This is looking very nice so far.

Hey, congratulations on finishing and releasing the game!   ;D

I'm going away for a week but hopefully when I get back I'll have time to try it out.

I like the idea for your game, sounds fun!

Also, every adventure game should give you the opportunity to make sure your belly is full.  ;D

"The mouse walking feature is just awful (it's a bit better using the keyboard but it's still horrible)."

I guess I've got used to that in TellTale's games to the point of not even mentioning it!  I really don't like the movement interface, and am not really sure quite how much effort it would take to have a different PC interface for walking than the console interface - but then i'm not a programmer.

"Most of the other problems (short, simple, linear) of it are probably due to its episodic nature though, in which you cannot have many variations in your action in order not to have the separate episodes contradict with one another."

That could be a factor, but I really didn't feel that Sam & Max or Tales of Monkey Island particularly suffered with those problems (not most episodes, anyway).  BttF has so far and Wallace & Gromit did apart from one episode; I think it has more to do with the individual episode design than the nature of episodic games in general.

Not all that much of an adventure game really, but fun anyway.

"Do you think classic point and click gameplay is outdated? "

The answer to that can only EVER be no!  ;D

Though "point and click" has been interpreted in various ways by different developers, of course.  For instance Curse of Monkey Island had a completely different control interface to the first two MI games, but it was still point and click.
