To play MP4 files you need to have the codec installed. Which means playing MP4 files depends on the users machine.
My suggestion is to encode your video to ogv, since AGS reads and does not rely on any outside codec to play these.

As for your other question. Yes, it is possible.
You'll need to use DynamicSprites for that though. Check it out in the manual, and don't be afraid, they don't bite and they're a lot of fun to use.  (nod)

@Julius, what error does it give?
I'm not sure it works with plugins, but have you tried setting the compatibility to 3.4 version?

Hey Bookman :)

Since the writer is normally the one that defines the story and game... Just do a plot/pitch for a game idea and try and find a programmer and artist to join in. :)
Or look for the MAGS thread, and offer there. Some people like me, can do art and/or program... and enjoy participating on MAGS...  :-D

And welcome to AGS  (nod)

Uhm, still something that my eye thinks it's wrong.  :-\

My suggestion, try faking the top a bit, so the pointy tip is lower and you get to see a bit of the leaves on the other side. That might give a better idea that you're looking at it from the top. You can see that in lorenzo's tree, specifically on the first shape and almost on the done one.

The second is your shading, it just looks very odd the way you highlight the tree, that I can't but see a cone. Not a tree with leaves.

The viewport functions have been redone.

You have 2 choices:
- Download the new updated version of the template here: https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=54762

- Go into settings and set compability mode to previous version of ags.

General Discussion / Re: AGS Awards

Questions are never stupid... and these are no exception.

1) Uploading it to the AGS DB is enough.
    - All you need to do is: Make the game, upload it, post/register it on the AGS DB. Games are eligeble by registering on the DB date... so if you make and released a game in 2019 but forgot to register it to the DB, your game is not eligible for 2019, but first when you register it.

2) The entire community. Every single AGSer votes for they favorite... all twelve of us...  (laugh)

3) Date isn't set yet, but should be around feb/march?
    - It will soon be announced and we even get to vote for the day and time that works best for us.
    - Also, a new thread will soon be opened where you can "promote" your game and remind AGSers that you did a game this year and in which categories it might apply to. Stay tuned.  :-D

I think this error msgs are there to let you know that there might be a problem with your code. Imagine that you actually wanted the character to idle in that instance. This would tell you why it wasn't working.

Also, it might work now, but if someone "fixes" the engine code it might not work later, and you won't know why. Also not releasing the view first, might give unexpected results later on... I'm not sure.

That is indeed very sad news. Hope that he's at peace now.
I'm happy to have had the opportunity to meet and interact with him, even if only online.

Actually, you should not pack them together, IMHO.
People that want a windows build don't normally want a Linux build, and vise-versa.
I don't mind too much if they're packed in the same zip, but only because I have a fast internet connection and no download limits. But not everyone is privileged this way, and then it might be a big annoyance and inconvenience for them.
#1251
You're suppose to only pack the "windows" folder inside the compile folder, not data or compiled...
As a rule I just rename the windows folder to the game name and then pack it, so it's ready to be unpacked into it's own folder. But no matter if you do that or just pack the files inside the windows folders, you are not suppose to pack anything else.  :) Unless you made a Linux version, and then you pack Linux in it's own zip file.

I haven't found anything issues. But if you do, report it in the thread so that the author can deal with it, if he's still around.  :)

You could try and see if setting the compatibility mode to an older version helps (you find it in the settings panel, I think).
