Here's a quick suggestion:

1) Wolf is resting (player far away- eNoBlock)
2) Wolf goes up (player walks on to region - eOnce and eBlock)
3) Wolf howls (while player stands on region - eRepeate and eNoblock - you might have to check that the howl animation has ended before allowing it to restart)
4) Wolf sits back (player walks out of region by retreating - eOnce and eBlock + Wolf goes back to resting eRepeate and eNoblock)

Also what eri0o tried to say was that you don't need to type object[owolf].SetView(10) , do instead oloup.SetView(10).  :)

Crap it's not, but I don't get sold on it either. Specially the character looks bad.

But I enjoy it as an experiment.  (nod)

I do however think it's better to assume that it's a 3D graphics game, and find your own style (whether it's hyper-realistic, stylised, or something else) than it is to pretend what it's not.

One of the problems with those kind of filters, is that painting it "alive", and no stroke is exactly main to the next.

I must have steeped for a week or so, missed flashback.  :~(
But grabbed VirtuaVerse.  :-D (not that I ever play any of the few games I have on GOG)  :-[

But please do keep posting these, it's much appreciated.  (nod)

Also make sure the GUI, where the button is, is visible and it isn't set to pause game when visible... If it is, then you might want to add your code to repeatedly_execute_always instead. ;)

They probably just do it on purpose...  (roll)

An idea on how 2) might work:

Generate a txt file with the name of your music files, one per line. Then read from AGS the file and grab the name of each file, and pass it as the filename to read and play the correct file (using the PlayMP3File as suggested by CW).

Of course you'll need to generate this file every time you add a new song to the folder, but it should work (in theory anyway).  (nod)

The light source followed the cursor, and it was very cool, especially since it was entirely 2D

Awesome bumb has that too.

Edit: I was a bit in hurry last night... Just wanted to add that this prog. is open source, so maybe it won't be too far fetched, for those of you with the skills, to make a plugin. :) Assuming AGS can process this fast enough.

This recent topic explains some stuff on how to animate a character: https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=59891.msg636645160#msg636645160 (feel free to read the entire topic, as well. :)

However you need to explain this "but it never worked".

Do you mean, nothing happened? Or that the player did change view, but the animation didn't run? (the first would be an indication that you placed that line in a function that is not linked, the second that... it really that isn't the correct way to animate a view, but manualy making the player move after the change view, you would see your animation instead of the normal walk cycle.)
Or do you mean something else?
