Thanks guys and gals, and great with feedback too!  :-D

VW, put up a start, then an end... then fill in the middle as time allows.
If you can fill little "meat" in, we get a shorter game. If you can fill half of your planned, then we get a medium game. And if you manage to get everything in, we get a complete game. But in any of these scenarios we get a game!  ;)

I would hate for it to end in nothing again.  :(

Is your room_load() function properly plugged?
As in, you didn't just copy/pasted or wrote. You actually opened the room, clicked the event button (the yellow thunder icon) and then clicked the ... button on the "Enters room before fade-in" line ?

You need to use regions.
Make the character stop when he steps in/enters the region, then turn off the menu and character (you can just use cCharacter.transparent=100) then run your cutscene, and at the end change him back to the previous room (and remember to turn him visible again in the new room in room load).

So their excuse basically boiled down to "We don't want to make a female character who is as tall as a male character".
[/quote]

Because it's unthinkable that women can be as high or taller than men...  (wrong)

Sure, go to General Settings > Visuals > When player interface is disabled, GUIs should >>> change "Grey out..." with "Display normaly"  ;)

I haven't tried using the module, but I think that's just what it does. Only it's set up to work as a chat. But you could probably see how he did it an adapt the code to your needs.

Have you checked Khris's smartphone chat module? I know you don't want a "chat" function, but it might still help you get the effect you want.  ;)

No it's not.

Seems to me that the hotspot mouse code might be in rep.exe_always. If so locate it and move it to rep.exe.

Mandle's right, game self needs to be new, reusing assets is just an attempt by our part to make people create more games and not go "oh, I can't draw" or some excuse like that. Also allows for creating sequels, and easily re-use your pre-made main character, something that wasn't possible before.

Then again, all this is on "honour" base, meaning that we really can't "see" that you started your game a month or more ago (unless it's obviously fitting a previous MAGS theme).
Most of us are still creating new art and assets for our games anyway.
I reused and downloaded some assets  on last MAGS since it was sort of a sequel  and it made sense to not use time redoing stuff someone already had made. But game, story and code was all new. If the rules hadn't allowed for that, that game would not exist.

Hopefully you'll finished soon and we can enjoy it?  (nod)

Yes, that looks a lot better.  (nod)

You realize that just editing your post and write "SOLVED" in it doesn't help anyone that might have the same problem.
At least write what the problem was and how you solved.  ;)

Yeah, I ended up writing my own verbcoin too, even though I started with the template, realized it didn't do what I needed it to, then went and tried using monkey's verbcoin, but wasn't exactly hat I wanted either. In the end I just wrote my own based on monkey's code (cause otherwise I probably would have never gotten there) and don't regret it one bit.  :)

I'm pretty sure I made it easy...  (roll)

Spoiler
Maybe you really suck at choosing a weapon?  ;)
