@Tabata - I didn't knew you cared. :) Sorry, been a hard month this one and haven't managed to produce anything useful really. :(

I'm ashamed that I'm one of the people who played and enjoyed those games but didn't vote,
not that I didn't want to, I was actually looking foward to do so, but I've lost and forgot
the thread which was buried somewhere in the forum (and I'm browsing through forum
few times a day). The only reason I've got involved in beta testing AGS Award client
is because there were huge, red letters on top of forum posts. Another example would
be the fact that after spending two months here, by accident I found out that there
is awesome AGS podcast made by people from this community. I realise that many
old-timers here have no problem navigating through this forum, knowing how to find
that stuff or where to look for, but then again as a new member I must say that it's
rather difficult for me.

This little link on the top of the forum page (right under your nickname) should help you out with finding all/most topics that have something new. ;) "Show unread posts since last visit."
I use it on a daily basis, and it covers 90% of my forum needs (it's just missing flagging eventual editing on the last post, and if no one posts on a topic that I'm meant to return to at a later time, I may have a hard time finding the post/or forget about it).
And on the question of MAGS voting, I've noticed it tends to be rather low every month... I must admit I dwled all 3 but this month been rather hard and I've only had time to play one of them yet. :-[ So did not thought it would be fair to vote.

Looking forward to it! :)
Screens look great!
Keep up the good job.

I'm not a Photoshop user either, but I've noticed that my Corel Photo Paint, sometimes also refuses to save as PNG or anything that isn't a Corel format. I've since found that if I have active mask/selection or objects selected (maybe even different layers) is what is causing the problem. Try "flatting" the picture by merging all layers, and remove/de-select any active object or mask, then try saving the picture again.

No idea, if that'll solve your problem, but can't hurt to try it. ;)

I've experience such weird mouse behavior (mouse not working), I usually just close the game and run it again. It usually solves the problem and the mouse then runs normally.

Have no idea what causes the problem, though.

You may also try and fiddle with winsetup, that most AGS games come with, and see it there's a setting or settings that work better with your system.

If this does not help, you may need to provide more info, like what system/computer you have, mouse, & exactly which games (and AGS version) that are causing problems, so that the "experts" can try and solve your problem.

Critics' Lounge / Re: Snow Animation
Mon 09/03/2015 23:46:13
If the snow is meant to go from left to right, then it's perfect... otherwise you might want to revise it. (laugh)
There is some topics about making rain effect using sprites on the beginner tech forum, would probably work as well with snow...

I thought it rocks! ;)
But, it's a headache on the making...

Readability of the font might improve if the background is a steady blue (instead of the gradient?), and text maybe bold (in a white/light yellow with black outline)... or drop the blue and make it black with white/yellow font. Nice contrast! It was hard for me to read the text too when in windowed mode and no filters.

Last beta (3) run at 2x, so that made it easier to read, but 2x takes way too much space.

Oh, one thing that I noticed is that when ppl type "/me blah blah blah" text would not display on screen, just on the log. Not a bug and probably too late to implement an appropriate on screen response...

BTW, was there a way to set character in idle mode (assuming there's an idle view)? Don't think mine changed to idle, not that I noticed it anyway.

Oh... and has anyone ever considered using this irc client to make a multiplayer adventure game? ;) I've always dreamed of such game, but it's always all other genders that have multiplayer option...

Is dwl so slow because everyone is downloading, or is dropbox normally this slow? 8-0
#5611
Just download it, but is it really necessary to make the player click on 4 different "download" links? ??? :( I probably would have gave on trying to dwl it, if not for the replies here... was starting to feel like those run in loop "download" type of "scams"...

Anyway, looking forward to have some time to try and play it. Thanks for making this game! :-D
#5612
I'm using MediaFire, easy to use and fast. ;-D

Nice ones Hobo and selmiak! :-D
I do have an idea that is neither an electric chair nor an arcade machine, but just haven't been in the mood to pixel it. :-\

Actually I love it just the way it is, only thing I would change would be setting the music lower, but I do that to all games (if there's an option to do that).
The voice and text don't confuse me at all and I think the voice fits right in with the feel of the game. :-D
Of course, that might be because I am used to have subtitles on my movies and shows and have learned how to deal with it... Maybe it's more confusing for those that are not used to subtitles... (roll)
#5615
(laugh) Awesome!
Where's the dwl link? :P

Loved Dexter too, though not sure I remember all the stuff in order (not even after watching the video!) (nod)(roll)

And now I need to find me that sound track... (roll)

I've figure what's been bothering me about these pictures since yesterday, and it's the black outlines mostly.
Specially on the view from above. It makes those houses and stuff look fake and out of place. You might want to thin them down (if possible) or completely get rid of them.
Adding shadows would also make your pictures more real. Specially noticeable in the interior screen.

Otherwise great pics! Looking forward to see where you take them. :-D

I can' promise to be there as I don't know if am home by that time, but if I am I'll turn it on and let it run. :)
#5619
I guess I could take the challenge and do the Galactica brig or some other scene that I might could use on my BSG game... but am currently focusing my time elsewhere, so I'll probably not enter this one.
Good luck everyone! :)

Is "The Blue Parrot" a movie?

Actually, yes there is. :)
I thought it for fun and the googled it, and found that there was a movie called juts that. Even though  as pretty sure it wasn't it (movie is like from 53!), I figured I would shot it anyway just for the fun of it. (laugh)

I do have the feeling that I have seen that scene before, maybe a murder/mystery type of movie?
