Lovely showings! :)
You sure the user manual isn't "hiding" on the CD box? Some times it's not just a piece of paper stuck on the front of the cd case... ;)

And more amazingly is, that until recently I never knew there was more than one "Broken Sword", so lovely to see that one. :)

Maybe you were just walking around in the deserted part of the city, and you never found the room where the orgy was going on... (laugh)(roll)

Hey, would have helped if you had numbered the pages... after the 4th I lose track of which one am using... (roll)

Anyway, the first one is hard to read, the hand "written" ones give it a sloppy look IMH.

3rd, 5th & 6th are easy to read and nice. The 6th maybe be kind of boring though.
So for me the choice would either be 3rd or 5th... The 3rd one seems a bit too small, probably a good idea to increase the size by a point or 2.

Just finished it, lovely game, even though I don't feel I had any choices... (roll)

I did had to set the sprite cache to the maximum (100Mb) to get the game to run smooth, I was almost about to give up on it, when I remembered that option.

I did stumble into one bug.
Spoiler

Right at the end, when the old man goes to the apartment next door the camera did not follow him, so the character was out of screen, and I wondered what happened... until I noticed the fan on the hotspot... then I returned to his apartment and back into the new one, and all worked like it should.

I'm not quite sure I got the full depth of the story though... :~(

Keep up the good work, looking forward for more from you! :)

When you were on the

roof did you open both trap doors after you fell down and died in the first one and restored?

Spoiler

Yes, that's the book I was talking about... I never got it. :-[

Oh?! Didn't know it was possible to die! 8-0
So no, I only opened the second one... not cause I was "clairvoyant" or had a feeling... I just happened to be at the 2nd one when I figure out how to open it, and then got in... did wonder why there were 2 and if I had missed anything there... now I know. (laugh) Good thing too, cause I hadn't saved... (roll)

Am sure you can code it using transparency settings (try doing a search for it, as it's been answered not so long ago). You probably need one of the "backgrounds" to be an object sprite.

Sorry, but what exactly is the problem?
You just make a walkable area, put your character in it and then click where you want the character to move...
I feel like you need to provide more info (like which template you are using) before anyone can help you (or maybe the experts can guess what the problem is).

Looks good now. :)

Good job!
As for me, I'm giving my self a deadline of until the end of the month to get my first character done... but might be sooner than that. ;)

Continuing with ST and white Label...

EXHIBIT #42:  STAR TREK - Judgment Rites

Sorry, I did not find the box for this one (we kept the CDs on CD drawers, and the boxes got stored away some place else...)
I'll add the box if I or my brother find it...

Looking nice. :)
I did like the first helmet better though, it "looked" kind of sad and evil at the same time... like in it self had an expression.

Also, you can add a zoom to your picture. :)
just write [ imgzoom ] instead for [ img ] (no spaces) - or you can use the icon with the 4 little red arrows to insert a zoomable picture. like this:

To speak on the elbow armor, it is rather odd. Instead of coming to a point in the inside it bulges into two circles above and below the crease. (see this image: http://medievalresearch.blogspot.com/2012/03/medieval-arms-armor.html#.VK-o2b6CWJU) I believe this was to provide more armor in that area.

Yes, it does look odd, but looking at it, makes sense in a way.
Good job getting a ref. picture btw. (nod) So guess The V shape is the opposite of what I thought it was. (roll)

Quote
1. Does the arm area from the gauntlet to elbow look too bulky?

No, but it's needing an indent (probably just 1 pixel out will do the job). The arm is flowing right in the same line as the armor, losing it's "thickness" and bulkiness...

Quote2. How is the angle of the arms? etc?

I like it. :)

QuoteI am slowly getting each piece into its own layer...  Just like the actual armor would be separated.  So that I can rotate and reposition.

Is it common for one to actually create a segmented "doll" type character to allow for animations, or do most artists just draw again the image they are keeping in their mind?

Yes and no.
Most good and professional animators just make a new layer and draw the new position over the old one. this will provide the best results.
But some (like me) aren't that talented (or willing to put up with the extra work), so they do exactly that, rotate the parts and then touch up the end result to get a better picture.

Up to you to decide just how far and how much work you want to do.

The BASS is two button template. Also with Left button = interact and Right button = Look. You could try that one. Don't think it has a double click function though (if that's important for your game).

I've combined the flowers with the crumbs and the worm and fed both mixtures to the seagull but I'm not sure what to do next.[/spoiler] If anyone could give me a hint in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Another dead hint:

Try mixing a bit more... ;)

Dead on hints...

Check the pole (near the seagull) for the fish and the fruit stand (pixel hunt) for the apple (it's green).

At first glance, the arms looks a bit flat to me. Specially around the shoulders.
And the hair could use some more volume or a natural look.

Have you tried doing hair with Cycles in Blender? My few attempts looked like crap, but you are more experienced with the program, maybe you can create a more natural look using the hair modeling tool? ;)

Otherwise good job with the model... I don't have much more to criticize.
And I thought you were the one who was going to give me some pointers when I'm done with my first 3D model... (laugh)(roll)
#5775
Yes, looking good, keep up the good work :-D

Try rotating his arm a bit out on the shoulders, then drop the rest of the arm and hand naturally dangling down.
If you need help imagining it, then stand up, stiffen your body and imagine you have such a chest armor on, force your "shoulders outwards" enough for what you can thing and armor would fill, then let your remaining arm slap around on the elbow and hand. :) You can use a mirror if you have one around the house to have a better look how it would look like front end...

One thing, the elbow armor would probably be more V shaped, with the pointy end inwards to the body. And you need a shoulder joint as well. As you have drawn right now, you knight would not be able to move his arms up. ;) Unless it's meant as the medieval straight jacket armor, then don't change a thing. (laugh)

Actually I just got a crash trying to run it for the first time. :~(

Not your fault though, it's the engine that crashed, so probably CW that wants the info?

I tried running the game windowed, with 1/2 of the resolution and 100Mb cache for the sprites... I'll do a few more tests, and see if I can pin point the culprit...

EDIT: After a few tests, I'll say that the culprit is trying to scale down the game. Runs fine in windowed mode, I just can't scale the window to a lower setting.
Using the non windowed mode, and selecting a lower resolution crashes winsetup right away.

I wasn't going to add anything more to this, but I just have to make a little comment here, sorry :-[ :

When I play a game and I don't like it, I don't go in a forum or the game site, complaining and saying this is bad, no thanks, deleting the game... I just delete the game.

I'm on the side of "bad criticisms" is still better than no feedback at all.

Ranting:
Spoiler

Cause at least you know what some think of your game/art/etc, and you can either go the "I don't care, this is how I do it, and if you don't like it it's not my problem" or or can go "Oh! That's why? What can I do about it? Can I make it better? Can I avoid this in the future, even if I don't change anything in this version?" etc.
I know we all want a pat on the back, with a "great job, that's great..." and hear how we are genius... but lets face it, most of us aren't genius, we just do the best we can and hope that's good enough, and then try to do better the next time.
That's all we can do and criticism goal is just that, to help up get better.

However we seem to have been raised in the "if you have nothing good to say, then say nothing" world... which is really a shame, cause it's stopping us from growing and be better...
