Actually, I'm interested in this plugin as well, as every year around the awards time (for some odd reason), I get this idea to make a multiplayer adventure game... been waiting for the release of the awards code to see how it was done... but wasn't aware of thatthe code was hosted there.  :-[ I have now downloaded it and will look into it when I have some time... maybe during summer vacation, since I'll be home anyway.  ;-D

PS- nice to see you still around Wyz.  :-D

To  be fair they both like their sliding. Feels like there's one of his foot that never leaves the ground, so it slides instead of producing impulse.  :-\

It's been at least a month since I heard they were going to train dogs for that effect. just not sure how long it takes to train a dog to sniff a virus...

Yes, those damn false negatives are very annoying. 14 patients and health personal were recently infected in a hospital, even though both all personnel and new patients were tested a few days earlier and were all negative.  :-\

Just proves that you should treat all as infected (as in takes your preventive safety procedures and stuff) , no matter what the test says.

Best wished to your sister, Stupot.

Beginners' Technical Questions / Re: Cursors
Thu 21/05/2020 15:45:35
Open your BG and character in Photoshop, then create, in a new layer, the cursors and coin how you think it looks good...

The error says it already. You have issued a RestartGame, so the game will Restart when the function ends. And therefor you can't change room or change to another player at the end of the function either.
So find out why you have issued a RestartGame and fix it.

If you lack inspiration, just keep an eye on MAGS, maybe one of the themes is just what you need to get you started.  (nod) And remember, it doesn't have to be a huge master piece, a little simple and fun game is just as welcomed.  ;)

I'm still working on it, just adding details, but doing very little at a time. :-[
But no matter what, unless my HD dies, the world ends, or something in those lines, I'll upload an entry.

If you need someone to push your button, just say so.  (laugh)

So far nothing, I think...  (laugh)

It's on, and I don't know... but that seems like perfectly fine code, not too " convoluted" at all...

Engine Development / Re: AGS Project Goal

Just as long as it's as easy to use as AGS currently is for the end user, then I'm fine with whatever route you guys decide to move towards.

As in, I only need to download a full pack and still run the AGS editor to create my games and compile the game, with no extra steeps to install UI, script language, manual, compiler, runner, etc.

Why is it strage? If players still want to play those kind of games? Would you not make them? Specially if you also like them?

I like the idea. :)

I think you could prepare the game to accept custom images players create self, by loading dynamic spites.
That way you wouldn't not have to compile a new game for each player.
You could provide two default player characters (boy and girl) and an option for custom, where all they would need to do would be to place the appropriate images with specific name in the folder (with explicit and easy to follow instructions). And then provide help with the creation of the sprite images, if the user can't self do it. That would cut your post release effort in maybe half, or more.  ;)

Also, first time I hear someone using PowerPoint to make game graphics.  (laugh) But they look great, so whatever works.  (nod)

I haven't used the account since they started that crap, an sure as hell am not going to login now.
Other sites just delete your account if you haven't login in x time, and send a warning saying the account will be deleted if you don't login in the next 15 days or so... But they don't delete the account, cause they hope to make you pay for the account.

I have all my files on disk anyway. It just annoys me that all the old threads are now broken thanks to them.  >:(

They the ones that changes the rules, so let them delete the account.
I also used Photobucket, if they don't want us to link to old files, then they can just delete my account. I won't lift a finger, since I can't go back and find all the places I posted an image link and edit it.

You can't just copy/paste into the scripts, you need to open the room, click on events and then click on the "room after fade in" to create a link to the code.  ;)

The Rumpus Room / Re: What grinds my gears!
Mon 11/05/2020 17:00:25
A pillow is a pillow.
We have a bunch of those on the living room, but like Snarky they're more often on the way, when we want to use the sofa, than not... so instead they're nicely lined up along the windowsill... the cats just love them BTW!  (laugh)

Everything is possible (and with AGS you should add "almost).

You talking about making a 2D game, but then you looking at your BG as 3D with "floors".  ;)
The edges are there, but you don't need to use them at all!
You can use hotspots to click on to change room, or regions to detect if you have walked on one and move the player character to another place (be it a new room or a new "floor").

You can move the camera so it's focused on the ground floor when you enter, and move it up when the player changes "floor". So doing what you want isn't a problem, it just requires a bit more coding.  ;)
