You know i've been waiting for this Ben! I saw the exclamation mark on the main forum and was worried that the GIP wouldn't be worthy of such an awesome title, but then i saw that it was your experimental project! This looks brilliant! Love the pallet, downloading now.  :=

I was planning on using a darker grey and then using it again for a bit of AA.

All of that 3D looks suspiciously like Spore and that doesn't sit too well with me.

Why not use those awesome sketches?

Stupot, i am waiting on the snow by the second :P I live in Wiltshire and we haven't had any yet but i can't wait.

I will post at least two snow cats (my girlfriend will make one :D ) and i will probably post a video of my cat Indiana (Jones) making friends with the snow cats because he loves the snow.

The new characters are great Jim. Make sure you don't add eyes, those blank faces make the pixel pushing in the clothes and body language shine.

I made a B+W game once and thought it was awesome, it's so much fun to work with. I ended up cheating and making the white on the characters a light grey.

Your game looks brilliant Dark Link and the characters have a lot of charm! I really like the idea of the secret room, clever idea ;) Are you planning on switching to a third person style for this room or will it simply have a mirror on the wall?

I would have kept the body as it was in the ref pic, his body looks very strangely positioned in the paint over. Something i can't quite put my finger on.  

You have a very nice high res look to your portraits, the smudging and brushwork doesn't show at all.

You could try rotating the body c-clockwise and the head clockwise a little to make him look more natural. Punks strike me as being fairly comfortable in their appearance whereas your sprite looks a little awkward.

Screw it, here's a bodged 2 minute edit to show you what i mean.

it's a pretty good sprite Crimson, nice and clean.

I would play around with the colours a bit, then rotate the head and legs clockwise (from a birds eye view) a little to match up with his belly. Try having the crotch where that button line ends, the legs look shifted to the right atm.

I would play a game with this style of art :)

Awesome screenshots! I think you got the wrong idea about vectors though, m$paint can't do vectors. You could get the same effect but it would take a tonne of time and fancy anti aliasing (and would still have none of the benefits of vector). Maybe change the title to 'We are pixels'?
