Good advice above :)

StacyDavidson i love you. This game looks freakin' awesome, i love the uncut clip.

Quote from: StacyDavidson on Thu 27/08/2009 11:09:32A Harrison Ford only comes along once every few decades.  That's why he had to pull double duty as Han Solo *and* Indiana Jones.

Gold!

Scientists like zombies too! Who doesn't?

The link to the £45 zombie flick annoys me, how can a film using no steadicam/dolly go to cinema?

If you're looking for software to help you plan Celtx is good, along the same lines as the program Snake mentioned but with storyboard support, sound clip notes etc.

Heh, maybe a little ott Brad. Now i really want him to come back and prove us wrong! Are you currently working on any games Sean?

It's good on the iPhone but the gfx get scaled down to screwy resolution without keeping to a proper aspect ratio. It still looks alright though and has all the voice acting!

I've been planning to get a pixel perfect Guybrush sporting shovel on my arm since i was like 12. I finally have the money saved to get sleeves but haven't finished any of my designs.

This way of planning works for when i'm writing screenplays, i suppose it could be applied to game making.

Write a brief for a three act structure then write a beat sheet (sentence for every background describing key story elements).
Turn the beat sheet into a treatment by writing a good paragraph for each background going into detail on NPC's and puzzle elements. You should then be able to read through your paragraphs and get a good idea of how your game will play out.

This looks awesome! Love it.

I can't believe you're looking into this in such detail, does it matter? I'm sure that something this old has had a few confused translations along the way.

You realize your sprite looks like Kurt Russell's role in The Thing.

That means you HAVE to make a point and click based on The Thing.

Very good sprite btw  :)

'I told you so' isn't going to help him guys!

If you can get the hard drive back from best buy (which you should be able to, it's your hard drive!) there's a good chance you'll be able to get the data back yourself. Something's probably corrupt or lost on the hard drive, I'm no IT expert but if you have errors in the boot sector all sorts problems can occur. The good thing is that if you can hook up the hard drive to another computer (you can use a SATA convertor to rig it up to a desktop) and you should be able to see the files on the hard drive through one of the many data recovery programs out there.

You could also try making a DOS boot disk with something like FINDNTFS (http://www.partitionsupport.com/utilities.htm) and accessing your files through that.

Like i said i'm no expert but in theory the data should still be magnetically stored on the disk, it just seems like the part that tells your computer how to start is knackered! Maybe someone else can elaborate a bit on this, i wouldn't recommend going head first into it because there is a good chance you could make things worse.

Bristol has a fairly good music scene, if you want to go to a gig then i'd be happy to keep you company.

It's hard to give feedback on something you haven't really done. The fonts you've used in the abandonia logo fit fairly well but you should try to keep to doing logo's etc in a vector based program. Seeing as EA is printed on everything, unless you're the art director or something fancy (if so give me a job, now.) there's not really a lot to say.

If you want me to say 'nice magic wanding!' then i can.

or 'wow, nice overlays!' i can say that too.

or 'man! That's some awesome use of transparency!'

...but i won't, I'm just going to sit here and mock your overuse of screaming orgasm Cortana.

Come to my town, we have AGS and comic books.

Films are fun, this one does not look very fun.

Actually, it looks like iron man and Nick Fury... the film.

Beer + Gi Joe = new marvel film.

Hah! Freakin' madness! I lost this game like... two pc's ago?

In fact, up until two minutes ago i could have sworn i'd never finished a game before  :=

Time to find out what this laugh out loud ending is.

Glad you like it Peder, have not spoken to you in a long time!

The game switches between some first and third person sections whilst maintaining the same core mechanic for interactions.
