I'll say it. They're terrible.

QuoteYou always get dicks who lack an open mind when it comes to music. I can guarantee neither Pslocum or 'Medical Waste' have actually taken a listen to this album.

I love when this happens. Whenever someone says X band is terrible, it usually leads to two things: a) accusations of being hat0rz who don't have an open mind, or b) accusations of being hat0rz who haven't listened to the album yet.

I've got an open mind. Why? Because I listened to some Korn albums. My conclusion: A bunch of angsty high-school wankery from a bunch of angsty, untalented dorks. They do the same angsty bullshit on every album and that's all they'll ever do. Compare the lyrics of one of their recent songs to one of their earlier songs. It's all the same: "hi i'm an outsider of society who craves sex to ease my pain of dead bodies everywhere but my girlfriend fucked me over so i hate that bitch whore meanwhile i fucked my best friends girlfriend and now i hate myself and i also hate my parents so i now want to kill myself fuck fuck fuckity fuck".

I've heard a lot of people say they're musical geniuses. Why? Because they invented nu metal? Bloody hell, look at other bands spawned under the nu metal tag: Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, P.O.D., Slipknot... I mean, Jesus, I've never heard of a more untalented category of bands (yes, more untalented than polka bands and barbershop quartets). This is what Korn created? Seriously, the music industry could do with out that shit.

And describing Korn's appearance on MTV as a "great show" is like eating crusty two-week old hotdog from the fattest, hairiest, smelliest carny you've ever met, rubbing your belly and saying "YUM YUM YUM! MORE PLEASE!"

Your post lacks any consistency DG. You accuse me of using the comment 'people who lack an open mind towards foreign music genres', but you've obviously got Korn summed up into your own nice comfortable stereotype.

Doing this means that ultimately you're going to end up listening to the same old until you get sick of it, and when it comes to the point that you're looking for something new all these bands you've stereotyped into genre's will be unaccessible to you.

If this is how you like to deal with bands that you obviously don't know anything about then that's fine but i'm not going to take the time to explain to you why your wrong.

I don't know if your a musician yourself but good luck finding other musicians who want to work like this.

My comment was more aimed at pslocum than you MW. With his pointless one word reply it reminds me of a lot of the shit that my band and the bands that i promote get from the few mindless people who call them selves musicians but in reality will get no where without an open mind.

Maybe 'dick' was a little ott  :=

And Korn are regarded as 'Musical geniuses' by a great deal of people, i myself only have two albums but i can appreciate that they have a very unique and distinguishable sound to their music, one that will live on far longer than a great deal of other 'mainstream bands' (MCR, FOB, iamghost, Aiden come to mind).

After listening to it a few times Evil it really has grown on me, not so sure about freak with Amy Lee she really does overpower Johnathan with her voice.

The Creep cover is ace, even if he can't hit the highs :) The track with Robert Smith is ace in a completely different way, they've managed some amazing dynamics with their vocals (although the use of old lyrics puts me off a little).

Worth a download anyway, did you get a video version or audio?

An amazing cover of Creep by Radiohead and a version of Freak On A Leash with Amy Lee from Evanescence, who in my opinion has the best female voice in music today.

But the best part, by far, was the duet with Robert Smith and the rest of The Cure. Combining Make Me Bad and In Between Days, and the polar oppositions of their voices make for a blood chilling work of art.

Im f'cking sold. Will download immediately.

On another note, they're now confirmed for download festival. I saw them last year but unfortunately Johnathan Davies was ill and unable to play, this year shall be good :)

Your art has always reminded me of comic trace overs, i'm not sure what it is. There's a lack of consistency in your backgrounds.

Come to Devizes!

Devizes is a small quaint town with very little to do, the nightlife is dead (in more than one sense) with young pubescent teenagers running a mock wielding samurai swords at lest twice monthly.

If your lucky you may even catch one of our many Indie rock nights (woo!) and experience the pure talent that Devizes has to offer.

Seriously, i would imagine the tourist attractions are the last place that the dirt england has to offer would choose to cultivate. You're probably safe there. Unless there's a JJB Sports near, or Tesco ... or brothel.

Thanks for the comments guys but (all be it they are very valid points) i'd appreciate less of the criticism. I guess i did ask for peoples opinions but a lot of the critique is beyond me being able to help, i'll show the chap we recorded with your comments but as far as drums goes we don't have the chance to add any extra.

And we're going to have to pay extra for any extra mixing. Heh.

I will let the guy know what you, Sylpher and Helm have said and see what he can help. Remember that myspace compresses the files to 92kbps (iirc) and its own file format so there's some compression there.

Also on another note, we're not really going for any conventional sound, we don't want to sound like anything else out there. And none of us have any real technical knowledge so our songs are written how we've developed to be the best way of writing. Its worked for the past two years or so. I don't mean to sound bitchy or cocky in any way, if anyone got that impression.

And we're bloody happy with it! Please take a listen, add us, comment us and generally send us some love.

Most of you know but it's me on drums and backing vocals. 'ohhh, lets go' and the like.

hmm, this is a sprite Bulghart (sp?) did a while back for a sprite jam. Same colours as yours but that could just be a reference thing.

Just trying to stir up some controversy :)

'i hate you' would be better as 'your mother has just died'

Or something...

simple answer my friend, change resolution.

here's your bg (640x400 looking empty)

and here's the same bg, rearranged and in a different resolution (320x240)

See how it looks a lot more interesting and busy, all i did was change the resolution and add some foreground objects.

*edit, seems my version is a little over 240 in height but you can still see my point.
