Really fun game Hobo, despite the rush I think you handled the ending well. Yup, would've been nice to play out another room or two with less senses, but I enjoyed what you've created here. Will be keeping my eye out for a follow up ;) Well done to Cino on the awesome music :)

My work colleague was telling me about this shader today, I didn't believe him and kinda dismissed it like 'Oh, this guy probably doesn't know what real pixel art is', I figured the end result would be anti-aliased like mad, here I am looking at a turnaround sprite with my jaw on the floor. That wouldn't take much fixing up to look really nice! Finally my basic 3D skills will come in handle for something ;-D

Granted, released exclusively via digital distribution on Xbox Live.

I wish I had the power of flight!

Wow, all in 8 hours? The camera moves and character animation really tie it together. Would love to see a little game with a couple of rooms and some moody dialogue. Keep us updated Layabout, good to see you posting!

Also quite excited to hear what Darth is working on ;)

Hey Shaun, awesome background! I love the character, and the rustic colours.

I did a quick edit to the shadow, trying to match the shading you used on the bed. May or may not be what you're going for :)

I had to resize the image and the mustache dude went a bit blurry.

Wow, I really liked it Captain D! Really looking forward to the rest of this, interesting puzzles which challenge the norm for adventure games. Great voice acting too! :)

Fun Jam, if a little confusing :P

I made your image have a bit more of a consistent pixel resolution, if anyone wants to use it:

Spoiler
I also missed the hatch for a while :)

Great short game with a lovely concept, you did a cracking job with the writing and managed to establish a very convincing scenario with a super low resolution! Congrats on the release LostTrainDude :)

Really fun! I loved the cold eerie British atmosphere, it's something that we missed this festive season (still holding out hope for snow...).

The voice acting was pretty good, my favorite was the creepy old guy in the pub.

It's been a pleasure seeing your progress on this, I absolutely LOVE the teaser trailer! I now have great confidence in your ability to make me giggle Pug, err, Seventeen Uncles.

So many unique characters, can't wait :)

You've really pushed the bar with those visuals Ben, lovely detailed scenes with tonnes of personality! That character portrait also fits the style perfectly Mr Grundislav.

Reaper and Rebirth were fun but teasingly short, excited to see how they tie together :)

Haha Dualnames, this is so awesomely frustrating. I'm absolutely terrible! I kept getting twitch impulses in my hand causing it to freak out every few retries.

I love the artwork and sound, the intro was super cyberpunk := All in a month - crazy!

I will be drawing a doodle every day! I have no idea how i'm going to keep this up, but today wasn't a failure: http://doodleham.tumblr.com/image/106833122397

Also, release my first game!

Hehe, no one's mentioned Hatred yet, the game where you mindlessly kill everyone and everything. Seems this title has spiked quite a lot of discussion on the topic of violence (the game was pulled from Greenlight today), lots of different opinions across the board.

Personally I think it's another small step back for the gaming culture (following on from the Gamergate nonsense), violence is far too commonplace in video games and it's taken a lot of work to distance ourselves from the misconception that all games are mindless shooters. I'm not against the game being released but it's a shame this has to draw so much media attention, which will inevitably lead to a lot of sales. Maybe the title was announced as a big social experiment, it's certainly got people questioning just how far violence can go before it becomes obscene.

If you do a google search you will find a lot of opinions on this extreme example of video game violence, I think you'll find your answer there Slasher.

Violence can be great but it needs to be done with style. In film, Tarantino dramatizes the action and gives it an artistic flare - the same can be said for a game like The Last of Us. Is video game violence any worse than that seen in movies and television? I'm not sure but we are yet to establish just where 'the line' is.

Aha! This caught my eye at AdventureX, we were stood watching it on one of the screens but I shortly forgot the name :-D

Lovely style with a great choice of colours. Story gives me a Monkey Island vibe too, love it! The backgrounds are really consistent, do you draw them yourself or have an artist on board?

A lot of the basics have already been covered here, just one note:

Sensor size: The Canon 60D has an APS-C sensor, this is regarded as a crop sensor when compared to a full 35mm frame (most Camera companies reference 35mm as a 'full frame' sensor i.e - No crop) 35mm is often used as a point of reference when talking about how the lens behaves.

This is important for a couple of reasons - the same lens will produce a different image on different sensors, which affects how much of the scene you can fit into the frame and also how well the lens handles levels of light. As you can see on the image above APS-C is a smaller area than 35mm, so a lens designed for a 35mm camera will not produce the same image on an APS-C camera, even though the lens may fit your camera. What looks like a nice wide on 35mm would be closer to a mid/portrait shot on APS-C. Think of it like a projector out of the back of the lens, only the projection board isn't big enough to cover the whole image. EF lenses will fit your camera but example images taken with these may have been shot on a larger sensor, therefore not representative of the crop from your camera.

This is why it's important to look at lenses designed for your camera, I would suggest looking for EF-S, 18-55 would be a nice counterpart to your current setup. You might want to look into buying a variable neutral density filter to help step down light coming into the lens, useful if you want to keep your aperture open for shallow depth of field.

Be careful Darth, you might get the photogeek bug and before you know it you'll be buying vintage Russian lenses ;)

Also please correct me if I got anything wrong Anian! Most of my knowledge comes from a video background.

Happy to have a version that's bug free and playable on modern systems but it is a shame the backgrounds are suffering in resolution, guess someone deleted the 3D scene data! :-\
