I can sure vouch for the 550D/T2i.  Note that you will want more glass once you've played around with the kit lens a bit, it's like crack.

Sketchup is great Darth, that and Hammer Editor are about as far as my 3D skills have ever gotten.

That said i have decided to make the plunge and pay the $40 for the pro version, it would be a great resource for SFX in my films and a fun learning experience.

Obi, glad i could help  :)

Nikolas, it seems to be a high profile 3D software, they claim the film industry guys use it. I'm not sure what that means for your wife but they have some lovely render modes for lighting etc. She could possibly import her models and render them in this program, if i understand 3D right.

Okay, there's only 10 hours left of the promotion. Some of you may have already spotted this but i'm a bit late on the update.

I'm no 3D guy but this offer may benefit some of you so i figured it worth a post.

Pre-purchase Messiah Studio 5 for just $10 or $40 for pro version, a saving of $1,150.

JmRssll555, this is an international forum. There aren't a great deal of UK folk, not enough to warrant buying a personalised plate on the off chance that someone else from the forum would spot it.

Then again i'll start the bidding at £50, would make a nice present for CJ's birthday.

This is so fucked up, i feel for you Rick. I love my cat, i trust him for comfort more than anyone.

Recently a friends kitten went missing, after 6 months of owning her. Months pass and no return so they adopted another kitten, three months later that one goes missing D:

It's been a further two months now and no return of either kitten, silver lining is that some local kids have spotted the first kitten a number of occasions and attempted to catch her. No luck so far but it really does show that they can fend for themselves, if they find somewhere warm where a rubbish bin can be accessed it is often a no brainer for the cat. 24/7 food supply appeals to their natural instinct.

I'm not religious but your cat will definitely be in my thoughts, i hope things get better for you Rick.

I'd be all for Ireland. I've been to Holland; it's flat and dull and the weed's hardly as good as is commonly believed. ;D

Haha nice, this man knows what he is talking about.

I'm totally for Ireland!

Child actor? Adult audience? That's as far as i got, try Hard Candy.

I would add some black pixels with 35% transparency to outside of the washing line, this will make it smoother. Try layering them up a bit.

This looks great Icey, I would carry on the way you have been going, add another shade to the floor and use some green and red for details. I really like the statue, is it original or traced?

Genius! Absolute genius! Me and Dualnames are gonna play this one together  :D

I'm pretty sure you have to 'make a game that takes place under water'  :=

Maybe a little less suggestive gesture when removing that map  :=

I call bullshit, you can't draw like BarnRunner Dual  :=

There were several different soundcards in that era.

Are we talking

Adlib?

or
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3dB0qEcG20
MT-32?

Those are the two quintessentially retro sounds I remember when I play 90s games. There were others, but they're either wavetable or beepers.

Dammit, I haven't been able to get the Monkey Island theme out of my head since I read this thread yesterday and spent an hour watching people play different versions of it on various instruments.  And this morning I went to the cafeteria of my uni to try and teach myself how to play it (just the basic melody, since I can't read sheet music)... This isn't going to end any time soon  :-\

It's dead easy on a guitar! You should be able to learn it by ear...

Yeah, he's totally seen my downstairs mixer!
