Messages - Chicky

A friend of mine tested the psychics engine last week, his cars a write off.

Dual - you get excited far too often, but i guess you would make a cute pet.  :=

AGS GAME!

Looks great bud, nice progression from the old art style.

Good shout, who cares if the game was already free. It's HD with 3D rendered characters, that's badass. Whack that badboy on xbox live and PSN. My cash is already yours, £15 pre-order for the first two episodes?

LBP2 is fantastic, of course i played the first but some of the things you can create this time around! The raycasting in the beta!

I'm currently trying to think of what to make, i've seen an adventure game engine created so might try for a LBP point n click.

Lovely bg, i don't have a problem with the perspective. Curious why there are barn door on that back light?

"You want to say something lads, say to me and not behind my back you weak f**ks!!!!!"

I'm calling yee out ya weak bastards!!!!

I want to crank out games? Yeah like a game developer, not like a useless big mouth....

You think completing freeware games and getting awards from the community mean something? It doesnt.... Getting paid for making good games and completing game development contracts does. Paid means professional, free means nothing.....

I want to say something, you sound like a victim of domestic abuse. Is daddy a little hard on you?

+1 for marmite.

320x240/200 is great for starting out. I would expect most people start using a pixel brush in MSPaint, this resolution makes it easier to manage.

Bit like starting with lego then moving onto balsa wood and glue.

Some of us never grow tired of Lego.

Awesome, it would be great to learn to use the editor after eight years on the forums. Might check out those video tutorials...

Thanks for clearing that up Chris, i was curious about how things were going. It's almost nostalgic reading a gengen post from you. To think you've brought endless hours of enjoyment to literally millions of peoples lives, asking nothing in return. You sir have truly contributed to this world.

General Discussion / Re: Do you trust PayPal?

I've been using paypal for years, no problems. It's a great service, only downfall is the monthly limits to unregistered addresses.

Show us an example of your failed attempts and this thread will move a lot more smoothly.

You could always try using Google Sketchup to create the initial room dimensions. It's very easy to pick up.

There's no denying it, the forums have slowed down and matured.

I used to be all like 'OMG Hi guyz! Fanx for all the lovely comments butI'm gonna start a new GIP thread now!!!'

Now i wouldn't dare start a GIP thread  :P

Maybe the superhero moderators are scaring people off posting, i know for a fact that a good deal of my posts get deleted within the hour; because they're off topic. Fair game, but having no silly posts leads to no silly conversations which ultimately leads to a lack of fun stuff to read.

Also i fail at spelling and grammer, so a lot of my posts fall prey to the 'i can type good, honest!' style of posting. Which becomes very sterile to read.

Oh well, Dualnames still makes me laugh :D

Oh and Butcher, Hey! Do you need me to hold the door open for you? You're looking good for your age! etc...

...and Eric, if you're reading this. Where's my copy of Time Out? It's been an epic wait!

Thank you Screen 7! I will certainly have a play, if only to see that ending again! Or has that changed?  :=

Easter egg is a great idea.
#758
Bullseye, that's the one. I wanted to add more as the song moves on but that stuff takes forever to render! My list for the next cut is looking pretty good now.

Gee thanks! Great comments, very insightful points made there. I'm glad some of you picked up on the editing, it was a bit of an experiment for me but i uploaded it knowing it could be improved. I had a lot of issues with the video cache not lining up with the timeline markers so kept having to load backups and loosing a lot of previous improvements. Wersus, the bass track was the main offender  ;)

Dhk, i went 60fps because i was planning some time manipulation in the heavier bits, slowing things down for dramatic effect. This is another thing that did not make it into this edit, a lot of people were waiting on the release of this video and i was holding things up with the editing. The 550 is a great buy, glass is the big investment though!

It's a relief that most of the problems are with the editing, it's not my forte and i am still learning the ropes, so lots of room for improvement there!

Anyone spot the CGI?

Thanks again guys.

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, totally didn't have much space using a 50mm on a 1.6x crop sensor like the 550d. The 'story' bits were rather rushed, there wasn't much of a plan for them and this was a zero budget shoot. They seem a little spaced out but will fit a lot better in the radio edit of this track which is 2:30 shorter, that would be the mainstream video sent to music channels etc.

As mentioned it was my first attempt, i'll take your comments into consideration for the next edit and any future videos!

Thanks :)
