I could try re-compiling it in AGS 2.5, but it's been at least 2-3 years since I compiled it last so it might not work.

I am well aware of Pleurghburg's faults (especially the terrible dialogue) and the rather strange puzzles (like the whistle and all). You make some very good points and I agree.

A big problem I had was squeezing in puzzles just for the sake of having more puzzles. I should have focused more on investigation and examining crime scenes. It wasn't until later that I wondered "what was I thinking?". I guess I didn't stop to think much about anything because it was made in a short of amount of time considering its length and the fact that the plot was improvised didn't help. I did however have fun making it, I think that if I had planned out everything in advance it would've been a better game but I might not have finished it at all.

Not until a long while after I actually released the game did I realise that the finished game wasn't very close to my original plans for it. As you've mentioned for example, the computer is very rarely used and it yet it was supposed to be pretty much the only form of communication with the PDA (like the MAD in the Manhunter series). There is also way too much dialogue and I'm quite sad that it turned out that way. Because originally I wanted people to figure out what had happened and what might be going on without getting everything explained, like it turned out.

I don't think it's a bad game, I am quite proud of it. I am however disappointed in myself for ending up so far from the original idea. I have considered making a new version of it at some point that's closer to my original plans but I wouldn't want to ruin a game that many people seem like by saying something like "the old version is obsolete, get this new one!"

Okay, after a good night's rest I'm feeling better, but I must have hurt a muscle in my stomach or something because I can't stand up straight or walk without feeling a terrible pain. I'm glad it didn't happen during Mittens.

It's nice to be back, one week was a good length for Mittens, although I wouldn't have minded staying another week. The camping site was good although it would have been nice if we could've gotten one big tent-spot somehow instead of being spread out. The food we got at the campsite was pretty crummy, but the nice restaurants in town made up for it and the ouzo (sp?) was nice as well (as long as you didn't mix it with water ;) ).

Overall I've really enjoyed this past week and it was great meeting everybody from Mittens 2003 again as well as Grundislav, Disco, Lorena and Dominika.

Thanks alot for organizing this year's Mittens, Helm!

Back as well.
Dirty, smelly, sunburned, but inspired. Will upload my photo collection tomorrow.

Edit: Oh yes, sorry I didn't get to say goodbye to Farlander, Lorena, M0ds or jetXL.

I've sent a PM with all the phonenumbers I've managed to collect so far to everyone who's going. I will update the list if I get more numbers.

List Update #1: Lorena & jetXL

Ok, so here's a quick summary of how many tents there will be and how room much there is in each:

custard: 3 (4 if neccesary)
scotch: 3 (4 if neccesary
petteri: 2 (3 if neccesary)
goldmund & wife: 2
farlander & gf: 2
stalkey: 2

6 tents (out of 10 camping spots) with room for 14 people (17 if neccesary)

So we'll need at least 2 more 2-man tents.

I havn't looked through the whole thread to see who else were bringing tents because I know alot of people cancelled those plans to rent at the camping site instead. So those who are planning to bring tents who hasn't said so since Helm announced the camping tent-shortage, please let us know.

I'll send the list tonight to try and get as many as possible but I only have 5 numbers so far, I will send an updated list on saturday night for those that still havn't left then.

Also I do have a tent but I'm afraid it's a one-man tent. Might fit two if you squeeze. Is there any point in bringing it?
#409
Actually I meant that we send the list to everybody who's going to mittens. We just need someone to collect the numbers and make a list.

Unless there are any objections, I can collect the cellphone numbers. Just send it in a PM to me.
#410
Perhaps we should collect peoples cellphone numbers? Although it would probably not be a good a idea to post them on here, but maybe someone could take the responsability to collect all the numbers through PM's or something and then send the list to everybody who's going to Mittens.

Aww, and I was going to bring my swimming dress :'(
#412
This came up when I googled for swimming dress:

Are you sure about this, Farlander? :P

I was a bit confused by the pricelist as well. But I'm guessing renting a large tent costs 11â,¬ (roughly 8£) a night?

I can't remember which valve does what either, but you can turn the acid drops back on by turning that particular valve again.

A trial and error puzzle... Pleurghburg has so many weak points.

And don't forget the poop-scooper, we wouldn't want people stepping in poo all the time!

... waaait a minute. Ofcourse we would! It's always good for a laugh when it happens to somebody else! But then again this isn't Staines camping.

I'm up for a game of football even though I have zero talent for it.

I can bring a tent if necessary, it's a small tent though with barely room for 2, so I think I'd rather rent one down there.

I'll bring my digital camera to take photos of drugged-up people at the airport, provided I don't get on the wrong plane while stopping in Amsterdam. It's unlikely. But when it comes to me, anything is possible!

If there's going to be an update I have some photos and videos of people singing Bohemian Rhapsody from Mittens 2003.

I've thought about growing old too. When I retire, will I still listen to the same music and wear the same type of clothes as I do today? Or will I automatically start listening to "dansband" and schlager, playing the lottery and the wearing the typical old people clothing. I hope that by the time I grow old there will be a legal option to end my life when I want to incase I have to spend my last years in a bed.

I seriously admire your strength to being able to put up with this job for as long as you have, Andail. I wouldn't even dare consider working at an old peoples home because of the huge responsibility.

Hooray! Looking forward to meeting you.

I will be at the airport in Athens on the 15th at 0.15, we can meet up with the brits waiting there.

2ma2: bastard! I'll never forget this! Atleast not until me senility kicks in! ;)
