There will be a gangbang at the airport for those who arrive early.
#422
Well, not "very" late, but at 0.15 at least :)

Strange that you can't find it, try this url, it should be the first one in the list:
http://www.ebookers.com/afo/micro/mrjet/step2.html?SID=QrCeRMCoyWYAAFjozO0

EDIT: Hmm, that linked worked one two different computers but not this one here at work, it just redirects me to the main website, maybe it doesn't work for you either. Anyway, just searched for flights from Gothenburg to Athens on the 14th of August and back on the 22nd. It should be the first one that pops up in the list, the ticket price is 3200.
#423
Cheaper than 3200? Poopsicles!!!

I booked my tickets off www.mrjet.se (or maybe it's .com). I travel with the KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (fancy!). KL 1158 to Amsterdam and then switch to KL 1581 to Athens.

2ma2 said something about moving to a new apartment so he could be without internet.
#425
Ok, I've booked as well. I will leave one day earlier on the 14th and arrive at 0.15 at night. Wouldn't want to miss a day of Mittens ;). I'll be waiting at Athens airport together with the others who've arrived early.

I'll be going home on the same flight as you though, Andail. Atleast I think so, unless you're going home earlier or later than the 22nd. The flight I'll be taking home is KLM 1576.
#426
Andail, if you havn't booked yet, look me up on IRC and maybe we can book at the same time. Either way though, let me know where you book your ticket.
#427
Well, let us know what exactly what flight you're going to book (a url would be nice) and I'll order mine as soon as possible too.
#428
2700 for both from and to I hope :P

I will find out today if I can go or not, I'll let you know when I do.

Edit: Okay, I talked to my boss and it seems I can get the time off. Now I just have to knock down some pensioners for cash on my way home.
#429
Hmm, I might be able to go after all, depends on if I can get time off from work.

Andail, have you or/and 2ma2 booked tickets yet?

#430
Unless I bump into you in town before that, I'm back in Gothenburg now.
#431
Looks great! Seems very promising, 2ma2. I'll add a bookmark as well.

Meanies! Why didn't anyone tell me it was going to be in Greece earlier? That's what I get for not visiting the forums more often I guess.

I would've loved to go, but I didn't save any money since I thought it would be in Australia. Oh well, maybe next year, provided it's not in Japan or something like that.

General Discussion / Re: Tom Waits

I'm still grateful to Eric for introducing me to Waits' music. I guess what I like most about him is that his songs are so full of atmosphere and images. I don't like his 70's stuff as much as his later material though. The albums I've heard from the 70's are not as varied and interesting even though there are few gems from then as well. My favourite album is Swordfishtrombones followed by Rain Dogs and Frank's Wild Years. Appearently he's releasing a new album next month, something I'm looking forward to. Alice was a great album.

Hehe, just popping by to clear a few things up. The reason why the graphics are rather simple is not because I wanted to copy Manhunter's style exactly or anything like that. I didn't want to spend too much time on the backgrounds because I think I would've gotten tired of the game if the progress had been too slow. There isn't really anything I spent alot more time on than the other during the development of P:DA, allthough I wish I had spent some more time on the dialog as somebody mentioned, there are probably several things I would have done different if I made the game today.

Anyhow, spending little time on the backgrounds really did speed up development, because with Revenants I spend much more time on each background, and it takes up so much time that I eventally get fed up with the game and take a few weeks off. A good idea might have been to make shit graphics to start with and then finish the real graphics when the game's structure was complete. Right now the game is on hold unfortunatley, I'll have to think about another way to do it without loosing too much of the detail I want. Since my 3D skills are improving I might just make it in 3D at some point.

Nice to see someone else who likes the series as much as I do.

I've often though of making a sequel to the Manhunter series as well, at first I figured London for the same reason as you, but just in case the original authors decided to pick up the series and the plot at some point I decided not to. Another alternative would be to set the game in another city with different characters.

What I loved most about the Manhunter series was the atmosphere and that you had to figure out exactly what was going on all by yourself by tracking people, finding clues etc. The blood red skies, the deserted streets and the silence helped set the mood perfectly. You never knew for sure what you might find every time you tracked a suspect to a new location. What I didn't like about the Manhunter series was the at times annoying puzzles and as with most Sierra games, the dead ends.

Regarind the images, they're all good but I feel only the first one captures the mood of the Manhunter game, the map looks a bit out of place with the other images. As for the third one, the tree and surrounding grass looks rather good, but the street and the buildings look out of place with these two areas.

I'd still like to do something with the series at some point but right now I don't have much time. Good luck with your project though, it sounds like a fun idea!

It's Steve Buscemi!

Hehe, I've been playing the game a little and it seems very promising. The movie inspiration sources are very obvious though. Other than The Thing,  the beginning and the main character and his girlfriend are very similiar to the couple in Hitchcock's Family Plot.

Very impressive trailer indeed. The only thing that bothered me a bit though was the "ripped" music, if I'm not mistaken it was taken from Sleepy Hollow.
