Big spoiler

Spoiler

Search the ground by the bus stop sign, go inside the shop and buy some gum. Chew it, and then stick it on the buzzer.

General Discussion / Re:The Matrices
Thu 15/05/2003 11:46:17
The only thing I really liked about the first Matrix was the story, and when I saw Dark City (from which The Matrix has probably stolen the story) there wasn't much left that I liked about the Matrix.  Sure it's an entertaining action flick, but I think it's very far from great and I don't have any hope for the sequels.

Lately I've been thinking of how much less interesting CG action scenes are. I'm very interested in the movie making process, and to know there weren't really any cool tricks or clever ideas used, but just computers instead, it doesn't impress me much at all. Kinda silly I guess :p

Great game, Mike. Highly recommended :)

Can't wait for your next game!

If I were Phil,  I'd spend all my times making more guitarman comics until I had enough to publish a collection. Then I'd give a free signed copy to that loveable guy Chrille.

The thing I'm most pleased with in Calsoon 1 is this particular scene. Why? Because the situation sounds so absurd when described in first person :P

UPDATE: 2003-05-06

Another movie clip has been added to the first post. It shows the new "note" system that Revenants will be using.

The "note" browser stores every book, note and similiar readable stuff that the player gathers throughout the game. You'll be able to browse through books, and compare one "note" item to another to gather new clues.

hmmm, well, we're crazy,  but not homo sapiens!

I think I've found a region related bug. If you use a NewRoom command from a Player Steps Onto Region thingy,  it appears to ignore the "player enters screen" and the "ENTER_ROOM" parts of the on_event function.

It's simply a character that is always set to the same x coordinate as the player's.

Hehe, there is no plugin, but it's easy to do.

Hehe, I like the episode where Apu gets fired from the Quik-E-Mart. When he starts singing that stupid "who needs a quik-e-mart" song,  there's a part where each simpson makes up a line which ends with quik-e-mart,  but when it's Homer's turn he screws up  "the quik-e-ma..   D'OH!!!".

Oh well, funnier when you see it for yourself.

You can walk south from Peter's grandmother's house.

It's easy, in the on_mouse_click in the global script,  just replace the code for the mouse-cycle thingy with

SetCursorMode (2);
ProcessClick (mouse.x,mouse.y,GetCursorMode());

Revenants is a horror adventure (or a 2d survival horror game as rode put it). You play as Peter Stunch (stench, tee-hee!), a young man who travels to his grandmother's house in the village of Lindoom. But upon arrival, Peter finds to his horror that everything is not as it seems.

Revenants will be a very non-linear game. There is basically one big objective, as long as you achieve that, the game can end after just an hour or less or after several hours depending on how many of the secondary objectives (of which there is alot) you achieve. You can basically fight your way through the game,  but for fans of mystery/adventure it is easy to avoid combat, a lot of locations to explore and many mysteries to solve.

Screenshots and an old demo can be found at the game's website:

Here are some film clips from the game showing some of the effects that have recently been added to the game:

You'll need the camtasia codec to play them:

You don't get upstairs :)

You need to find a way into the closet where the blood trail leads to.

Have you looked at the victim's wallet yet?  There's a name in it which you can search for on the computer in Jake's apartment.
