Edit:  I can't seem to get POPUPMODAL to work to freeze my game during the intro sequence (just a series of Waits and animations).  The gui is designed to allow you to skip the intro, but the intro plays regardless of what I try while the gui just sits there as the game continues from screen to screen.  I even went so far as to run PauseGame() after the gui is open and it does absolutely nothing (popupmodal should run pausegame anyway).  Every time I try to access it the debugger just says 'game blocked'.  I've tried starting the gui from repeatedly_execute with a keypress (and without) and in the repeatedly_execute of each room of the intro.

I struggled with a similar thing some time ago, but finally found a solution:

Actually I don't get it. Is this some sort of a publicity stunt or are they just plain stupid? And here I was thinking programming requires brains...

The first one was brilliant and is still one my most favorite AGS games ever. And this one looks to be even better, so I can't wait for it to be finished.

Nice fun game, but you really need to find a mirror, since the whole downloading thing seemed like another puzzle ;)

I live alone and I still have to go to the darn shop :) Though I don't find it pathetic or upsetting.

I was lurking on these forums years before I finally registered in 2006. I'm a daily reader, but don't post much, so this should mean it's my 107th post. No games yet neither.

I've been wanting to give a visual novel a try, since some of them look stunningly beautiful, but most seemed to be in japanese so I didn't download any. I didn't even know if translated ones exist, so thanks for the heads up. I'll probably check out a few.

Gunnar is a pretty common name where I come from. Anyway, welcome to the forums.

I suggest you look for some 1 point perspective tutorials and try to recreate your room based on it. As for composition, the room looks very empty. Filling it with objects like plants and shelves might help.

I may or not have had a pony tail once.

I don't even know which one was worse, the first or the second. Those two movies have done nothing good to either of the original movie series. Loved the AVP2 game though.

Don't worry. Even if no one else did, at least I got the joke.

To stay on the subject, making decent looking sprites is something that usually takes a lot of time and practice. I often fail and give up, but you shouldn't be afraid to scrap something and start all over again. Give it another go, I'm sure you can do better.

I have bought mp3's on several occasions, but only directly from artists themselves. The fact that no one else is taking their hard earned money from them is a big factor for me. But usually I buy vinyl records and CD's, though I mostly download it illegally first to see if it's worth the money. Haven't done much downloading lately though and I've only bought like 2 or 3 CD's this year (and without hearing their contents beforehand).

I still think it's a nice country. I've traveled most of Europe and I liked Austria the best for its nice people and beautiful scenery. Like something out of a fairy tale. But I suppose even fairy tales have their villains.

3) Venus adds his addition and sends it on to Jelfish (why has Venus seemed to miss that? or am I missing something?) to finish part B-2

You might have missed this:

I think Jelfish will have to be skipped aswell. He hasn't signed in since march 21st.

General Discussion / Re: Gay, the insult
Sun 06/04/2008 14:04:32
My friends sister played a rather cruel prank on me a few months ago, telling one of his gay friends that I was also gay. That lead to a quite awkward and uncomfortable situation later on. And even after explaining it was a joke on me, I think the guy still thinks I'm gay. I'm not offended by that joke, but it was not a nice thing to do neither.
Anyway, even though I've been hit on by men before, it's still nothing I could ever really get used to. Not that I'm homophobic, but it's just always unexpected or even a bit shocking. Some say you must be great looking to get hit on by other men, but I think I look rather average, so I have no idea why it happens.

Jazz Jackrabbit 2 anyone? Mine bombers?
I also loved that adlib sound - Dune 1 & 2, KGB, etc.

Tunatic is the same thing for PCs.

I used to play Leisure Suit Larry when I was a child...

I have a creative muvo tx and I love it. Good sound quality, equalizer, works with one AAA battery and no wires needed to plug it into your computer, because it has it's own usb plug. Very comfy.
