Awyeah. :) Here's another game from my childhood:

I only had the shareware version of this one, plus it was really confusing to navigate in the later levels, but was quite fun overall, actually.

It's Hogs of War!
Remember playing this one with my friend on his PlayStation, jolly good times. :)

I know that game!
It's Mayhem in Monsterland.
Fun game. :-D

Correct! It's Mayhem in Monsterland. :D A great little 2D platformer from the late C64 era, loved to play this one, along with Creatures II and Great Giana Sisters. Your turn, Danvzare. ;)

Aw yeah, glad I could use some of my old RPGs knowledge. :D

So, while we're at it, here's one from me:

One of my all-time favourite Commodore 64 games. :)

Isn't that Tunnels of Doom? :)

I haven't played this one, as I never owned a TI-99, though I read about this game quite a lot back in the day, when I was doing a little research about oldschool RPG games (as I flippin' LOVED some of the 80's RPGs when I was younger, notably Ultima and Wizardry series... heh, who am I kidding, I still love them - proudly owning a nice collection of Ultima games, also started playing Ultima IV Remastered on C64 recently. :D)

Thanks again, everyone! :D Your support is totally awesome!

Anyway, we've been extra busy for the last couple of days, but we still managed to get this and that done in ZA. :) Here's another night time location artwork, now featuring 100% more glowing mushrooms and 100% less sun!

#367

Seriously though - that was totally unexpected! I was checking the game's page while at work, and ZA was still in the queue limbo, and when I returned home - bam, suddenly I got a mail from Valve!
Thanks a whole bunch for everybody at the AGS forums! The game wouldn't be Greenlit in 18 days, if it weren't for your support, news-sharing and votes! :D You're such an awesome community!

Bingo, CaptainD! :D It was also released in March 2016 on iOS devices, as a Flight of the Amazon Queen 20th anniversary edition.

Lucky! I never owned any Amiga computers when I was younger, though one of my friends had a blazing Amiga 1200, with hard drive as well. :) I only recently bought the Amiga 500+, just for the sake of my retro collection. :D Amazing little thing, too bad I don't have as much free time as I used to. ;)

But anyway, onwards with the game! How about this one?

General Discussion / Re: DOSBox
Wed 11/05/2016 09:00:24
Hey, back in the day I used DosBox on a daily basis, so I can assure you it's something you want to use, when it comes to accurate DOS emulation. :)

I own two retro PCs, both with Windows 98 and DOS 7.0, and I can definitely tell DosBox does the emulation pretty well, even nailing down some of the things like the pretty good FM synth (I have a Yamaha OPL3-SAx ISA card in one of the oldschool rigs, so I have a direct comparison between those two ;)), not to mention you can even emulate Gravis Ultrasound quite accurately under DosBox. Stuff like floppy/CD images, or controllers also works well (there's a separate mapper for both mouse, keyboard and a gamepad in DB, so you're not limited just for the in-game configuration). And if you're passionate enough, you can grab the DosBox megabuild and install Windows 3.1/95 on it. :)

For the hundreds of games I've ran on DosBox, only one of them refused to work (Montezuma's Return, dunno why, it works on my oldschool rig...), and that's really something!

Wow, is that Mentor? I vaguely remember playing this game at my friend's place, who happened to be extra lucky and own the Amiga 1200. :D

Success! (and after only 40 tries) :D

Found a while to play it. I really liked the artworks and animations, as well as the fullscreen cutscenes, though I already liked them, when you were still developing it. ;) Gotta love Ivan and his dialogue lines too. :D Motherland surely needs more men like him!
I totally enjoyed playing it, though I encountered a small thing, that forced me to restart (hooray for autosaves!)

Spoiler
On the wide screen with the city, Ivan got stuck on the pavement between two buildings on the left. He couldn't get out, and fiddled in place, while Olga was standing still, most likely she was the character that was blocking his walking path.

There were some other things, but very minor, didn't affect the gameplay at all.

Overall - a great game, nice atmosphere, characters and graphics. :) Grand job Blondbraid!

The Neofeud world just keeps getting more interesting the more I read it seems...(roll)

Seconded. :D Since I'm really digging that kind of futuristic stuff, Neofeud hits all the rights notes for me!
Nice animations SilverSpook. :) Keep'em coming!

Thanks a whole lot, guys! We're really glad you liked them, thanks for all the support as well! Yeah, I hope one day we'll get Greenlit. :)

Anyway, today it's time for more animation goodies! The mysterious dinosaur from the previous artworks returns! Who might that be? Hint: no, it's not Zid.

One day I'll actually start worrying about that 30k sprite limit... :D
#375
Murder/mystery stuff with a comedic twist? You have my attention, good Sir. ;) Nice idea with the live footage as well, sounds really fun. :) Good luck with the project!

Oh yeah. :D

So, how about this one?

#378
Yes sir. :D Sorry for that little offtopic.

Dunno exactly why, but many people apparently like that lake room, so, since it's fully finished, I'd like to present it in both day and night-time, now with 100% more animations (and 95% less colour)!

You can also check the step-by-step creation process here, from the rough sketch to finished background. :)

If I remember correctly, it's Liath: World Spiral. (or, by the Polish name, Liath: Spiralny Ššwiat :))

Yup, just saw it on the crowfund watch. Congratulations Mr Underhill, and the whole Gibbous team! There's still some time to go, so I hope you'll also nab some of the strech goals. :D
