When I first started this project I had no idea that it would grow this big, and I will add even more before I finish this game.

Haha, I know what you mean. ;) When we first started Zniw Adventure, we planned for it to be a nice and short adventure game... and now, (almost) two years later the project got, let's say, a bit bigger. :D

As for the new screens - well, judging from that saw under the bed in the sick room, I guess some, er, nifty stuff happened there, eh? ;)
Nice stuff you posted, totally digging that animation style. Keep it up!

Another non-adventure game made with AGS? And a strategy game, on top of that? Awesome! Any chances of a demo version anytime soon? ;)

An adventure game set in the future? With intelligent robot protagonist? You have my full attention, good Sir. :D
Great character design/animation and the choice of the overall world atmosphere. Will definitely be checking this one!

Wow, gotta agree with the rest of the good folks here - it really does look gorgeous. :D Can't wait to see more!
It's nice that you're also posting some design and development sketches/notes - always happy to see those!

Isn't that The Watchmaker from the 2001? I mostly remember this game from having a bizarre copy protection, that ran even on the original (unpatched) version, and simply made the game unwinnable.

Hey, thanks Rocchinator and CaptainD! :D
A small update today, but with lots of moving pictures. That's right, Twarda's been quite busy for the last few weeks, doing all sorts of different background and character animation! Let's play a little game - can you name all dinosaurs below? ;)

Also be sure to keep yourself warm and eat plenty of apples during this winter! Or else you might end up like our buddy Leptoceratops here. ;)

Thanks Stupot. :) Hope you all had a great grand Christmas, and the beginning of the 2016.

Here's a little update (with a huge image :D) from Twarda, showing all kinds of different portraits, used in conversations. During your travel you will meet a whole bunch of different creatures from the prehistoric times (and hopefully also learn a cool dinosaur fact or two. ;)) You might recognize some of these fellas from the demo version, but several of the characters, making their apperance later in the game, are also included! If we had to include EVERY portrait Twarda's been doing, it would take too much space, I believe... ;)

Really liking that clean pixel art style, very neat. :)
Also - time travel? Niiiice, that's more than enough to make me interested in the game! :D Best of luck with the project!

Ok, I'd like to start this update, by wishing everyone the Merriest of Christmas! All the best in life and the internet from Twarda and Crash - hope you're much more excited about Christmas, than our good ol' Zniw here. :D

And about the game update... well, we already showed you the forest, the riverside, the jungle, the caverns or underground passage. So why not something totally different today? Meet the varied inhabitants of the dinosaur village! (along with the animation samples, woo).

The granary houses all sorts of different dinosaurs... some are simply mesmerized by the pile of disgusting worms, other just focus on chewing.

And just like in real life, some will be very annoyed by seeing a total stranger marching around their home.

And, as promised, some animation samples. Did you know we already have more than 1000 frames of animation for different characters/backgrounds alone, not counting GUIs and other stuff? Thank the heavens the engine supports 27 000 more sprites!

Aaaaand that's all for now, see you in 2016! :D (hopefully we'll announce a release date of Zniw Adventure soon!)
If you'd like to see smaller, but more frequent updates, feel free to visit the Zniw Adventure Facebook page. :)

What a coincidence, I recently picked up a Final Cartridge III for my C64, so you get bonus points for nostalgia, good Sir. :D

Great trailer, it's truly awesome you managed to do it purely in AGS. :) Can't wait for the full version of Magenta, then!

Now that's a really nice idea, you rarely see desktop games aimed for children only nowadays, especially on the indie scene. ;) I'd actually really like to check it out!

You just have to trash the "written" elements for something more intuitive (for kids that can't read yet - or read English :P ).

Yup, or use voice samples/spoken dialogues, instead of text. ;)
I actually used to work on games for children, from what I saw they are much more keen on finishing the task, when they are told to do something (^voice samples), rather than having a visual/text clue (sometimes they don't really care what's on the screen, they just click all over the place. :P But when they hear what they should do, in order to advance the game - that's a whole different story). But doing so you will limit the target audience to just native speakers, or kids willing to learn the chosen language - so it's up to you what you'd prefer in your title. ;)

Besides, they also love bright, colorful and cartoony art style, so the graphics suit this kind of game really well. I'd actually love to check your game after it's finished, so good luck with the production! :)

QuoteBackgrounds created from real locations in Sussex.

Nice, such photo-realism approach really takes me back to the good ol' days of adventure games. I really like that, good luck with the development! :)

The general idea behind the project is great, plus mixing such diverse art/design styles into one package makes the game, as a whole, really unique! Looking foward to this one as well. ;)

@CrashPL : Thank you so much! and IndieDB can do that? wow.. i wish i know that, tell me how to do that pls? dont want to miss the updates from other AGSers!

(hope nobody will mind this little offtopic!) While on the game's IDB site, there's a "Profile" box on the right. Simply click the "Track this game" button in the "Game Watch" section. ;)

Just by looking at the screens I'm having a huge nostalgia trip, as they remind me of my favourite adventure games from the 90's. In other words - I sure do like them! Keep'em coming, and good luck with the project! All of the characters, with that cartoony slash propaganda design applied to them, sure do look great. :D

The graphics are so delightfully pixelated and oldschool, I sure do like them! And boy, am I glad I didn't sell my old flatscreen CRT monitor back in the day when I had a chance, these screens look so charming on it! :D

I already saw (and followed) the project on IndieDB (via AGS updates page), as it looks very promising - good luck with the development! :)
