Thank you.

QuoteI certainly like the somewhat-painterly look (which fits the era); although it might be hard to animate.
I'm just the chara-designer here. I leave these concerns to the animator (laugh)

Congrats TheBitPriest

My reviews:

Ice Station Zero by slasher
Spoiler
A good Slasher's vintage. The drops of temperature can be very sudden but they're not too taxing. The game is quite long and the suspense builds adequately. The stealth part was "meh" since I was trying to find the path intended by the developer rather than actually avoiding the bears. I can't really blame you since I did something similar in another game (laugh)

Rain & Snow - The Bouncer by Intense Degree
Spoiler
Nicely done. I stopped when I had to check the names on the VIP list because it started to feel too much like real work. It felt so believable that I wonder if it was created from experience.
The connection with the theme is tenuous though.

The Cabin by TheBitPriest
Spoiler
Great achievement under the time constraints. I had to use the hint section for a couple of parts verging on pixel hunt (finding the bag, the iron bar...) but it was fine overall. I wish I could turn my head as in other FPS adventure games. Nice silly little twist at the end.

Not My First Apocalypse: Stormpuncher by PlayPretend
Spoiler
Another beast of a MAGS game. The challenge was quite low but a major effort was made on the staging and the dialogs.  It was funny and I enjoyed carrying so many living things in my inventory, like in your previous game.
Strange use of a herringbone brush in nearly every background.
Dead end: if you leave the alley without picking up the tentacles, they disappear.

The Cat Case by Racoon
Spoiler
The puzzles were fair and the story was OK.
It's visually charming and I like the small scale of the scenery.

Concept: DBoyWheeler - one of your best submission so far IMO.
Playability: Lorenzo. The three pictures are nice postcards but they don't give us many elements to play with.
Artistic Execution: Lorenzo. Even if this picture is quite simple, Lorenzo's style is always pleasing to the eye. One small criticism about the cabin: its geometry doesn't read very clearly.

Belated thank you, Sinitrena. I've set Tampere's proposition for January and yours for February.

Yes, it's funny how mundane environments can become pieces of art under certain hands.

I can't wait to play Magnavox Melvin's Odyssey.

Meet Eleanor Coade, talented business woman at a time when ladies were usually forced to stay at home.

She successfully ran a factory producing statues, sculptures and architectural ornaments made of "artificial stone" for decades.

The former owner of the factory worked for her at first. But she didn't hesitate to dismiss him after he took actions without her consent.

Read this story here or here.

I haven't found any picture of her.

QuoteCreamy: Lol, is Roger the Kurt Russell wannabe?   (laugh)

Err...sorry PlayPretend. I was referring to Slasher's game whose setting strongly reminds me of The Thing.

But I'm currently playing your game and it's a treat (I'll write reviews later).
I just got a crash in the Rotel room:

In the last version of "The Cradle", I made a mistake with the inventory that could make the game unwinnable. You can download a new version with only this fix HERE.
The game is still in development. Hopefully we'll make a browser version playable on mobiles someday.

A rich harvest for the MAGS competition this month  :)
Currently playing the games. So far I've been a mouse detective, a Kurt Russell wannabe and a bouncer...

I can see the problem when I open a .trs file with tzachs' online editor.

Speech center translation editor works just fine.

Hi Baguettator,
Did you import a font with special characters in your game? See the fonts with "à" on Dafont for instance. The default font doesn't include them. Dans mes jeux ça marche  ;)

Quote from: PlayPretendBeen coding and assembling 15 hours straight today, about five rooms to go, staying up as late as I need to because I have to work tomorrow until nearly the deadline.
Now you're ready to work for CD Projekt.

That's soooo untrue. A little bird told me that you had a short night  (laugh)

In the first picture, the mountains  are too closely aligned with the elements of the foreground IMO.

I am afraid we will need a bit more hints.

It's better NOT to catch the coins.

Why not?
That's the main game mechanic. Rising Dusk is advertised as an anti-coin collection platformer.See these black blocks with "12" written on them? They disappear if you catch 12 coins.

Anybody can propose a new game.

I finished them all.

Lord of Light
Spoiler
Hilarious and thorough. I love the specific answers for every action. Our evil protagonist can be considerate towards some animals and cruel towards others. It's very living despite the lack of animation. And that dream sequence... (laugh)

The Last Light Post
Spoiler
Well thought-out and executed - another achievement. It's longer than Father's secret and solvable if you pay attention. I appreciate the lack of pixel hunt. As a side note, I wonder what happened to the four characters in the facility. I guess they suffered a tragic fate when Simon entered the wrong sequence. Yet, nothing happens to us when we do so.

Taste the Blood of Darkness
Spoiler
It was okay but predictable. I expected something more subversive.

Lygophilous
Spoiler
Like other VampireWombat MAGS games that I've played, it's just an intro. I'd like to see one of these finished properly, regardless of MAGS deadlines. It'd be more satisfying for the player and the creator.

QuoteMichel Hazanavicius's The Artist.
Yeah, the nostalgia of the silent era. The actors are good, The setting is fine.

But... it don't add nothing new.

I respectfully disagree. I found some bits inventive.

QuoteI would have loved that movie if

they hadn't tacked on a happy ending. It should have ended with her trying to pull him out of his depression and alcoholism and failing. That would have been unexpected and interesting.

Spoiler
That's what she does. Giving him a new success is a little easy but I don't see how she could have pulled him out of his depression without helping him find new meaning to his life. Surely, the success of their dancing act would fade over time and problems would start again. Hopefully, he'd cope better next time with the help of his friends.

QuoteCan you pass me a game link that uses phylactere or MIDI so I can check it? I need to investigate how to make them work.
The MIDI tunes from Oh du lieber Augustin are playing but with incorrect samples.

Freak Chic uses Phylactere for dialogs. They are skipped instantly.

I tried Tea for Two on my phone. Works great  The only problem is that the background doesn't adjust to my screen so I can only see half of the picture.

QuoteIf it was the very big bundle, that really doesn't narrow it down that much.
Yes it was. I started with a small clue.

Here's another one: in this game, the number of coins that you collect directly affect your surroundings.

It was featured on a very big bundle this year. And it's good.

That's great! I tried several games and they all worked (just some issues here and there with MIDI files or phylactere module).

QuoteJust "upload" everything there and it should work  - if it doesn't work, tell me which game you are trying to run. Games are not actually uploaded so it should run pretty fast.
If the games were uploaded, would it be possible to play on mobile devices?
