Mats Berglinn's DOTT fanproject (not sure whether it's dead, though)

I've read about the rebirth of this project in the "Adventure games in production" thread, where it was locked soon. This game has a crowdfunding page at IndieGogo, just like Kinky Island. It's very heavily inspired by both Maniac Mansion and Day of the Tentacle, but it doesn't use any copyrighted things from those games. Instead, it's a completely different story set in the same universe. It's created by Desperate Studios team, who created their first games in the days of C64 and Amiga. You may check this out for details:

The latest year saw the resurrection of several game projects from the early 2000's, which were considered dead until now. This includes Kinky Island, Run Hot, Day of the Testicle (the ressurection came in a form of a sequel), Zak McKracken and the Lonely Sea Monster, and Crazy Mansion. Any other projects you'd like to see revived?

I'm not going to enter due to lack of time, talent and tales to tell, but I want to share these walk and talk animations I once did for a game that would have nicely fit this month's theme:

[imgzoom]http://home.arcor.de/tith-ags/FireStationWalk.gif[/imgzoom]
"blah, blablah bla!" [imgzoom]http://home.arcor.de/tith-ags/FireStationTalk.gif[/imgzoom]

The game would have had locations - here a fire station, if you can't tell - as characters, and characters as locations. Too bad I didn't have any storyline beside this concept, only randomized puzzles/items/NPCs/locations, so the game never saw the light of day.

But maybe it inspires someone to make something similar for this MAGS. In Soviet Russia, MAGS wins YOU!!

I agree, it's something that must get made!

There's no definite release date, but it seems to be early 2013. Have you seen the official website: http://thecavegame.com/?

An update:
QuoteWe are launching the first of our new Sam Suede incremental goals!  When the pledges reach a total of $20,000, we will reveal details of two of the game's important characters.

Top secret until now, only the core team has been privy to this important information.  But now we're ready to share with you.

Who will these characters be and what do they have to offer to the game and our hero?  Stay tuned and help us reach this goal quickly!

Now they have some more physical rewards for backers: Invitation in a Bottle and Tiki Bottle Opener, Sam Suede Shot Glass, Adventure Hat, etc. Check them out!

I particularly dig the background with neon signs. Is this anyhow inspired by Jasper Fforde (sounds very similar to his Nursery Crime series)?

Oh, it's being developed by Wizarbox with the use of their engine Unity. Would be pretty cool if the new Sam Suede looked like So Blonde or Captain Morgane.
#112
Have you got any sprites, except George himself? Maybe some aliens? ;)
#113
Nice  I really wish somebody did the same for Sam Suede...
#114
Do you have any sketches, screenshots or gameplay demos from the BS fangame?
#115
Oh, I'm glad to hear this, I've been following the project since 2007. I think it's a great idea to combine the universe of Broken Sword with aliens.

Maybe start a separate thread in Adventure-related talk & chat?
#117
I hope it does! I'd suggest using an art style similar to Discworld II, it can be either an original story or an adaptation of one of Pratchett's novels.
#118
How about setting up the forums?
#119
I'm bad at drawing and animating, but I could help with the script
