Another company has been founded by LucasArts veterans, called "Suddenly Social". They've announced their first project, called "Bad Pets"; you can read more about it here.

I personally hope they'll once get to make an adventure game (or at least a semi-adventure, like Psychonauts or Penny Arcade Adventures).

That thread inspired me to start this one... Have you ever dreamt of adventure games or had dreams that would make good adventure games? As for me, I once had a dream about Toonstruck with Pinky and Brain in it, and some time after that I dreamt about Fluffy Fluffy Bun Bun being one of the ghosts in a Scooby-Doo episode.  ;D

Interesting... I think, for me it would only work if characters were presented as humans wearing some kind of really lame animal costumes with badges on them, instead of real-looking animals. That would add a great layer of abstract weirdness to it.

I love that idea! But I agree with Renodox that there could be more to the plot than escaping from captivity. I also think this game can have really strange and absurdistic graphic style, maybe some combination of cartoony and realistic.

The inspiration comes from the movie Brazil 1985 and The Trial "Kafka"

For more inspiration, you can check out Jasper Fforde's "Shades of Grey". There are similarities to those ones  ;D

Trust me - we've had some way weirder ones that got shelved! ;D
Could you release some of your old materials and finally open your Wiki for everyone?  ;D I think everybody will be interested to have a look at them.

Brilliant writing and graphics (I particularly liked the "Copyright protection" part), but in my opinion the game has more of a LucasArts-ish feeling rather than Sierra-ish and Space Quest-ish. By the way, is this pie from the Act 5 of CMI?  ;)

I'm interested to know whether it will be a purely detective story, or with some surrealistic/mystical elements.

A mystery that begins with two bad guys and a car crash... Reminds me of Mulholland drv.

Yoo-hoo!!! Most fangames that size die halfway in development, so thumbs up to you!

The first screenshot reminds me a bit of Vampyre story  ;)

I'd also really love to see Bubsy the Bobcat: Rip van Bubsy remade in the style of those 90s LucasArts-ish adventures like Orion Burger, Igor: Objective Uikokahonia or UFOs. In fact, I love Thecatamites' unique style, but I feel that such a brilliant deconstruction of classic adventure devices deserves to look and feel like a classic adventure.

Very reminiscent of Gobliiins, I wonder why no one has mentioned them before.

I thought I'd tell you about the new AGS-based MI fanproject which takes place between MI2 and MI3, about the said Carnival of the Damned (aka Big Whoop), explaining how Guybrush wound up sailing in the red bumper car in the middle of the Caribbean. The art style is going to be similar to CMI, and the game will be divided in three episodes. The list of characters includes:
- Guybrush (of course)
- LeChuck
- Skeletal Pirates
- Largo (he's finally going to make a comeback)
- The Voodoo Lady
- Fettuccine Brothers
- Herman Toothrot (maybe)
- Cannibals (maybe)
- Pirate Bar Patron(s)
- Clown with a strong New Yorker accent
- Chuckie
- Guybrush as a child
- Elaine as a child
- Old man Guybrush
- John Decringe (a reference to Joseph Decreaux and Desinge)
- Winslow
- Stan
and more, and more! You can read the rest here: http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php427

The project is currently looking for some background artists, the only available screenshot for now:

And a couple of other BG's, created by the same artist for a different project:

, and besides the art, I'm really stunned by the work of your composer! This new screen is a bit reminiscent of DOTT.

Make sure you rework the inventory items for the full game- they're the only thing that doesn't match the quality of the rest of the game.

I agree - and in my opinion Gustav's inventory looks better than Kauff's.

I would be really interested to see a LucasArts-style remake of one of those old 1980s text adventures like Boggit, Bored of the rings, Color of Magic, Quest for the Golden Eggcup, Robin of Sherlock, the Big Sleaze, Hareraiser, Quest for the Holy Joystick, etc. Or maybe a remake of some modern IF like Blue Chairs.

So am I right to assume that
Spoiler
all the cops were just multiple personalities of a single person who underwent some kind of psychic experiment?

Is this the answer?

Congratulations, gonna check it out!  ;D

As far as I know, the game will consist of several parts. Will the graphic style be all the same or different in different parts?
