Psychonauts. Let me quote a really interesting idea from the Double Fine forums:

Well, since I doubt we're going to ever get any sort of direct sequel to Psychonauts, I think it'd be great if DF made a simple 2D point-and-click task completion game within the Psychonauts universe. I was thinking something along the lines of that old Pink Panther game, Passport to Peril, in the sense of art direction and the way you went around the world and had to complete puzzles and tasks to get places.

It really seems to fit the whole secret agent thing the Psychonauts have going on, so maybe it could also be centered around Sasha and Milla?

I'm reposting it from this thread: we've started a Discworld fanproject, which would star a new main character (different from Rincewind or Lewton). Anyone is welcome to join   :-D

Alright, guys, just in case anyone is still interested: I've set up a forum for the Discworld fangame: http://discworld-fanproject.proboards.com

Don't worry about the design: I'll give you all admin rights (my username here is Imp), so you may change it

BTW, maybe anyone happens to have a screenie or two from Duke Stalker/Star Whores (an even older project)? I tried Wayback, but it hadn't archived anything.

If you're going to do anything Discworld-related, count me in!!

Well, I'm entirely for it, we can open up a forum at Proboards or something like that.

I'm also thinking about Tony Tough 3. It's a cool and undeservedly forgotten game that was recently ported on DotEmu: http://www.dotemu.com/en/download-game/4601/tony-tough-and-the-night-of-roasted-moths

There was a 3D sequel called Rake's Progress, but I desperately want a third installment.

Well, what do you know... An actual Toonstruck 2 creepypasta story: http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/Toonstruck_2

I wonder how Keith Arem feels about this...

New updates:
1) a sample of the game's soundtrack
2) soundtracks from the other Pendulo games
3) And finally, a new reward: the Summer Sale, which allows you to get a physical version of one of the backgrounds from the first Runaway. It comes with a certificate of authenticity, which includes a brief story about the background you have chosen. And as if that weren’t enough, it is signed by the whole team ;)

I do not quite understand about this game... Are you aiming for classic Hit the Road look or something else?

Update #2: the Spanish writer Ramón Cerdà, who claimed one of the 5 "Look mum, that's me" rewards and will appear as an in-game character.

And a new screenshot:

About a week ago I was rummaging through the Internet and discovered this:
http://creepypasta.wikia.com

It even has a videogame-related section, with things like this:

However, this section really lacks adventure games. So... how about a CMI or DOTT creepypasta? Or maybe Discworld or Humongous games?

Update #1: they've started writing the backers' names on the office walls! Also, some backers' avatars and banners ;)

The Pendulo Studios jump on the crowdfunding train, having started their own campaign related to the game "Day One". It tells the story of Ethan, a young and acid journalist who learns from his doctor that he’s got a terminal disease: he'll be dead before the end of the day. Back home, he finds a capsule and a note: “This will keep you alive 24 extra hours. Come to Paris for more. We’ll find you.”

They're providing a vast array of rewards, including an oldschool "big box" edition of the game, an opportunity to put your own creations (art, music, texts, etc.) in the game, Ethan Grant's Edition of The Devil's Dictionary with his own notes, thoughts and traces of events that happen in the game and even the chance to study a course in Videogame Design thanks to Universidad Complutense de Madrid and become an intern in Pendulo Studios.

Check this out for more: http://www.ulule.com/dayone/

A classic adventure game (DOTT or CMI/Discworld II visual style) which can be finished by a single action (clicking on a specific hotspot, using a specific inventory item on a specific on-screen object, etc.), but the action is pretty non-obvious. At the same time, the game has LOTS of red herring items, useless locations, characters you can talk to, puzzles you can try to solve without result and so on. I believe this could be the next experimental game evolution stage after Rip Van Bubsy.
