The way OSC wrote 'down' was quite breathtaking.

Hehehe.

Weathers has droopier eyes.

He's like a cross between Billy Dee and Gregory Hines.

General Discussion / Re: Americanisation?

Nah, it's not a good idea, cause in the Japanese version, Harry was a ninja robot that had to fight a tentacle monster that was raping all the Hogwarts girls.

In Japan, they changed the title to "Young Boy Gets Lucky Surprise Rock of the Moon-Spirit".

I recenlty visited Hollywood and found this while going through a studio's garbage:

ATT: ALL PRODUCTION STAFF
FROM: THE GUYS AT THE TOP

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAVE DECIDED TO CHANGE THE FOLLOWING OCCUPATIONS IN ALL SCRIPTS IN ORDER NOT TO CONFUSE THE MOVIE-GOING PUBLIC.

PHILOSOPHER - SORCERER
SCIENTIST - NERD
ACTIVIST - HIPPY
ARCHAEOLOGIST - BULL FIGHTER
PIANIST - DJ
NOVELIST - FINGER PAINTER
NAVAL OFFICER - POOL CLEANER
CRIMINOLOGIST - BATMAN

ALSO PLEASE CHANGE THE FOLLOWING WORDS:

CARBURETOR - ENGINE
MATRIMONY - HITCHED
TRIGONOMETRY - MATHS
GASTROINTESTINAL - FARTING
EXISTENTIALISM - WHOA!

THANK YOU!

However, keep in mind that such Americanism are a product of Hollywood movies. Sometimes, production is different in other areas and in other media. Take these two examples from different production areas and different media sources:

EXAMPLE 1:

"Good lord, dear listeners! I seem to be suffering from some gastrointestial problems! Must have been that fillet mignon I had."

EXAMPLE 2:

"Dude! That fart was awesome! Must have been that steak you ate!"

Thus, we conclude the lesson for today.

Get stuffed. It's Lando.

Actually, I had a debate with a friend of mine as to whether Lando was played by Billy Dee or Carl Weathers.

I said Billy Dee. And won.

QuoteDean Cain played Superman for several years in Lois and Clark, and he's still fine.

His career is dead, so he fits the curse.
#1169
I just like the fact that Harvey Dent was played by Lando Calrission.

And the plot thickens:

Moore Filmed Interview with Berg

Michael Moore filmed an interview with slain American businessman Nicholas Berg in Arlington, VA last December in which Berg discussed his concern for his safety before going to Iraq, Berg's family said Saturday. Moore confirmed that he had shot the interview for his award-winning documentary Fahrenheit 9/11 but said he would not make it public. He did send a copy of the interview to the family. Berg's brother David complimented Moore for handling the situation with "dignity, respect and discipline." He told the Associated Press: "Michael Moore has really been a total class act with this whole thing. ... He could have sold this to the media or stuck it in his movie."

General Discussion / Re: Derren brown seance

I once saw a special on the guy where he made everyone raise their hands in a shopping centre. I thought it was bollocks, so I looked him up.

Then I found this:
http://www.brianmung.com/derrenbrown/

I instantly became a fan of Brian Mung.

We sorted the situation privately. It was the result of a misunderstanding between SSH and myself.

So, carry on with the normal business, folks.
#1173
Whoa, you're getting the wrong idea here, guys.

First of all, SSH, I'm not too sure what you're on about, possibily because you're speaking some kind of retardese.

I politely asked Minimi why he was posting his stuff here. Publicity, sure, I can understand that. But suddenly, you're accusing me of pretending to be a moderator. I'm being polite and not condemning Minimi for his decision to post here. I merely made an observation about both Minimi and juc's recent decision to post. I don't see why you have to resort to accusations and retarded crap about George Lucas and being paid of by Minimi. I don't see why you have to act so retsrded when all I'm doing is just showing interest in what Minimi is doing.

Minimi: Read above. Like I said, I'm not condemning you. Just merely interested. And now that SSH is being an idiot, I regret even asking the question in the first place.

And with that, I leave this thread.
#1174
QuoteTo give it publicity, obviously. Why do you announce games here when you've added them to the games page and got your own website? Becasue you want people to use them!

But isn't that overdoing it?
#1175
Now you're just being silly.

All I'm saying is it seems a little redundant to post all your resource links when you've got webspace. That's why I wondered if there was some other reason why people were posting this kind of stuff directly to the forums.

It's just a simple, polite inquiry, SSH. I don't see what the big deal is in asking it.
#1176
QuoteAs it says when you post:

Three golden rules:
1. Is your post interesting, helpful or funny? If not, don't post it.
2. Post in a mature manner. Remember, the minimum age here is 16 - if you're unable to act that age, don't post.
3. If you're not a moderator, don't pretend to be one. If a thread needs to be moved or locked, the moderators will deal with it.

But I'm not pretending to be a moderator. I was simply curious as to why Minimi posted all his resources onto the forum instead of a link to his website with the same resources. I didn't accuse him of violating forums rules or anything else. I was simply asking a question in order to gain some enlighenment.

As for junc, well, I'm asking the same question now. I'm wondering why all this sudden posting of open sources and resources.

I mean, doesn't it seem a little... odd... to you?
#1177
I agree with LGM's logic.

Minimi, if you've got a website, how come you're posting all your resources here?

Tell us the method behind your madness so we may understand.
#1178
They won't if they bring out another one of those damn Spiderclones!
#1179
It might not be because of PC stuff, though, Darth. I mean, you'd have to have ESP to read the mind of Hollywood producers.

Perhaps, they are casting Beyonce to be a little diffferent and attract attention so people will go see the movie.

I remember they did that in GoldenEye where they cast Judi Dench as 'M' (in the past was a male role).

I think they do that to be a little different. I mean, people would get bored with the same old interpretation of Superman.

It's like what Delroy Lindo said in Get Shorty: "Where's it say in the script that the man has to be white? Color's what the part needs, man!"
