General Discussion / Re:Inhuman

QuoteIf, as I believe, you are referring to the assassination of Ahmad Yassin, I largely disagree. With or without it, the Hammas would have strived to pull out the terrorist attack, that in light of recent events will inevitably receive the title of 'vengance'.

Assassinating Yassin still doesn't make the situation better.

If anything, it makes Hammas angrier -- Thus, they're more likely to increase their bombings.

The way I see it is like this:

No one is going to solve anything by assassinating other people.

If anything will result from Sharon's action, it will be the death of more Jews and Palestinians.

I condemn both sides for what they have done.

I saw it on the news -- Yes, it's pretty dreadful stuff.

But it's also not surprising considering what happened to Yassin earlier this week.

Barcik, you might not like me saying this, but I'll say it anyway: I think your Prime Minister has made one of the most stupidest mistakes in the history of stupid mistakes.

Having said that, I'm going to say something that you probably already know, but I'll say it anyway because I'm concerned for your safety:

Be very careful.

I once found a dictionary (OED, I think) that defined cute as "ugly, but interesting".

So:

Hehehe, he looks like Two-Face from Batman.

Insomnia must be a common trait among journalists -- I know alcoholism is.

Plus, I'm a net user, which doubles my insomnia, and I'm an Aussie, which triples my drinking.

General Discussion / 3 hours sleep...
Thu 25/03/2004 00:23:03
I hit the sack last night at 3am. I downloaded an Atari ST emulator. It kept me up all night. I played those classics like Typhoon Thompson, Verminator, and The New Zealand Story.

I loved that trip down Amnesia Lane. Only one problem: I had to wake up a six this morning. I had to help design the journalism department's newspaper. This means waking up at 6am, spend an hour getting ready (shower, dress, breakfast,  etc), and a two hour trip to Uni.

9 am. I arrived there and the paper's offices were locked. No big deal. I'll waste an hour at the computer labs.

10 am. The offices were open. No sign of my lecturer (also the senior editor of the paper).

I check my e-mail. There's a message from him to our class. Apparently, there's a problem with the paper's new templates and fonts. Not only that, he was called away on "news events in other places".

This means I'm currently waiting for him in the paper's offices.

And I REALLY need some sleep...

Meh, I guess I brought this on myself anyway.

No, it's cause Terran made a joke that didn't really make sense -- How can Def be comparing himself to the horse when he says "Me and Jerrod"?

Bah, I'm just being petty I guess -- Nevermind, I've withdrawn my offending remarks.

Not even market research can save this thread.

Sam n Max 2 is dead -- may it rest in peace, and may all of us too.

MODS, time to work your mojo on this thread.

1.The reason I don't want to react, is because I'll get into a lame discussion. Like in dg and farl case.

At least we can talk peacefully and make sensible comments in our lame discussions.

Farl: Nah, it more so started with Trumgottist's reply -- I think he missed my point and it kinda built fromt here.

So, I had to get a little more in-depth with what I meant.

Granted, some releases that Disney and LucasArts do are good, but they don't compare with their past releases.

For example, I'm sure Lilo & Stitch is a good movie but it's hard to match it against Snow White or Mary Poppins.

They did hit a smaller peak with their releases from The Little Mermaid to Lion King, but they still pale in comparison to the peak of their older movies.

Same with LucasArts: I appreciate some of their new Star Wars releases, but I'd rather play Monkey Island or Sam n Max.

And as I said before, a lot of the real talent behind LucasArts and Disney have left.

Now, both are just trying to make profitable products, rather than trying to make unique games/films.

It looks like The Eagles fanclub reunion.

QuoteNot quite sure how ironic that is, but nonetheless

Well, it is ironic when you consider her two cousins are in a movie directed by her hubby.

You mean, how they're shooting with two Nicholas Cages?

Or did you mean the strange dude with the pink shirt in the background?

Edit: I also read that Marc Coppola (Nic's brother) used to stand-in as one of the Kauffman brothers.

Ironically, recent Oscar-winner Sofia Coppola (Nic and Marc's cousin) used to be married to Spike Jonze, the director of Adaptation.

And, as an extra side-trivia, aparently the Giovanni Ribisi character in Lost in Translation was based on Jonze.
