I withdraw all my previous comments about my favourite teen movies, for I now feel the best teen movie I've seen is "The Paris Hilton Sex Tape".

This awe-inspiring film transcends the mere angst film into a pure work of art. I felt Paris Hilton's performance in this film looked very sincere, especially when Rick Solomon humped her from behind. Look for this come Oscar time. Three thumbs up!

I don't know if it'd count as a teen film as such, but my favourite would have to be Stand By Me.

I once read a Movie-A-minute script somewhere that went like this:

The Breakfast Club

All the kids: I HATE ALL YOU GUYS!!!

The kids smoke grass

All the kids: Hey, you guys aren't so bad.

THE END

Meh, I prefer Ferris Bueller.

Speaking of which, did you know the guy who played Rooney got busted for kiddie porn? -- No wonder he was after Bueller.

He wanted to give him more than just a detention.  ;D

Hehe, it always cracks me up when Rah rahs complain that "League is such a simple game" [and I know DG isn't complaining].

Aye -- I'm praising the simplicity.

It's like getting a game of Union, taking out all the stupid, nonsensical rules and replacing them with logical ones.

Actually, I think the Shapeshifter was one of Campbell's charcters -- But I think he might have taken a lot of his character archetypes from Propp.

I remember episode one from a long time ago -- you played this private detective with long hair or something.

The game had some pretty grusome murders, if I recall.

Didn't play episode two though (it was shareware).

Here's episode one, for those interested: http://www.dosgamesarchive.com/download/game/17

I used to play Union in my first two years of high school -- hated it and didn't really understand a lot of the rules.

League is a simpler game -- would have prefered to play that.

OMG!! I DUN GVE A SHIT ETHER!!! LOL RUGBY??? WHO AERS WATCHES TAHT!1!!

(On a serious note, I'm glad to see this kinda face-off -- Despite either England or France making it to the final match, the Australia vs ?? atill should be a good game :) )

I've heard of Propp, though I haven't studied too closely into his work.

From memory though, I heard there were other characters to use, like the Shapeshifter.

While on this topic, I like to incorperate the 4-act screenplay model into my games -- I noticed that Grim Fandango uses a similar model (i.e the game is split into four years/acts and the three cutscenes between the years act as plot-points)-- However, this is probably unintentional.

The swtich-o character engine for Stickmen (and Stickmen 2) was pain to script, mainly cause I had to be mindful that all events fitted the two characters i.e. I cocked up in Stickmen where one of the characters says he's waiting for himself instead of the other guy.

What is a Photoshop Phriday?

Photoshopping isn't drawing a completely new image -- It's editing images to create a new image, such as editing one image or combining several images.

Also, you don't have to specifically use Photoshop -- Paint Shop Pro, MSPaint, or any other programs can be used.

See this link:
http://www.somethingawful.com/photoshop/

And for other examples, see here:
http://www.worth1000.com/

The two above websites should give a fair idea of what is involved.

Also, make sure your image doesn't exceed the width of the screen -- If it does, I will delete it.

-------------------------------------

What do I have to do?

This week's Photoshop Phriday is: "Business Cards"

Very simple -- Make a business card for any adventure game character (AGS or commercial).

E.g.

Dear Dg,

If you were all cool like, say....wolverine and you had to fight some angry supergroup called something like "The angry fighting four!"....Do you think you could do it, or would you probably piss your pants?

I'd probably wake up and realise I'd have answer another wacky-as-Nerf question from another drunk AGSer.

Mr. Macphee,

Every time i fart i feel a burning sensation.  Why?

The burning sensation will only go away if you stop lighting them.

Look at that cowboy on the cliff and see those snails falling down -- Big clue!  ;)

Dear DG,

Where did you learn such an insightful way of looking at life? Was it a certain education? If so, I'm dying to get it too!
