To tell the full story of what I know, those Mappomedia guys were real but had a very shitty website. I'm not too sure exactly what Mappomedia did (From memory, it was just a bunch of dorks who made game mods). So I created a fake site (dead link to the original site) with an old copyright date as some kind of joke where I could issue them with a lawsuit and gain a large amount of money from the settlement. They left the forums so I let it drop, but liked the Mappomedia website so much, I used it as a "company" that produced all sorts of crazy things, like T-shirts and hi-tech (but dodgey) computer parts.
