Ok then lets try

Spoiler

The Marionette.

I'd already figured out 'THE' though only by the number of letters, Baron has to take credit for the explanation.

Then I went all round the houses with Joan of Arc (The Maid of Orléans), and 'Minute Maid' (a beverage product line). Then it finally hit me 'Maid Marian' of Robin Hood fame. A little 'Marian'---> Marionette.

So I think this one is 50/50 with Baron, if I have guessed correctly.

EDIT: If I am correct then I throw it out to anyone who wants to jump in.

I seem to recall this scene as the last segment of a sequence showing animals mating. I am not sure which movie it is though, and the only film I can think of that had regular shots of animals in it is LUCY.

Space Quest?

...but 'space' is an almost-anagram of 'aspects'. In fact if makes 'space st' so I guess you put the final 'st' after 'que' to make 'quest'

[close]

I think this is what Baron intended :)  'ASPECTS' muddled about 'QUE'.)

Nice one.

the only thing I can think of is

BOARD QUEST.

I was thinking QUE (Spanish question) & (BOO) for lampoonery. After that I ran out of ideas.

Just a few thoughts, no guess.

Spoiler
'apple wizard wired from behind' made me think that you remove wired from 'applewizard'. Which got me as far as 'applza', at which point my brain short circuited and I died.

I may have another attempt in my next life (unless I come back as a frog).

Correct and what a frustrating game it was in my teen years, and I've only gone downhill since then :)

Your reasoning was correct though I was thinking

Spoiler
club=WOOD (golf) , and a dog that soiled it (BURY). Though your way works.

EDIT: and of course 'I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end' so 'not the Alpha' gives you Omega or 'End'.

The first word is **** (a club) & **** (think of a dog and soil).

The answer is probably too obscure so I will give a larger clue in a few hours if no one gets it.

Sorry Baron as usual your answers zoom over me (I am no Drax :)).

Spoiler
'not the alpha' is not a number, its more like the last word.

I have just done some searching, and I'm shocked to find you can actually trace my real name (by using my previous hint) if you look hard enough (though trust me its a needle in a haystack so don't try) I only found it cause I remembered my name (after ten minutes :)). Bonus 10 points for this (though PM me please, I prefer to remain anonymous). Though really don't bother as you will end up hating me for it :)

Incorrect CaptainD.

I don't like to drag these out so hints.

Spoiler
Its an adventure game from the 80s, successful at the time though obscure now.

I only thought of it because I won a copy of it in a competition a computer magazine ran. You had to design a save routine for a commercial text adventure that didn't have a SAVE command (Sphinx Adventure).

Now get googling!
