Nice sounding midis.

1,2, and 3 completed - really nice, I like the use of timpanis
main theme - the clicking sound in the rythm first fooled me, I thought I'm having problems with my earphones, I like how the tune builds up, and the fact that it doesn't make it any less loopable
game over - nice tune, you certainly captured the game over atmosphere

Keep it up.

Those train doors slide to a side when they open, right? If yes, then they would have a probem doing so, since there would be no room for it. I suggest making them the same width as windows, and adding some empty space to the each side of them (about as wide as one door wing) so they have a place to move.
You could also add some detail to the black spaces below the train, like tracks and rubble, or concrete, trash, etc...
Then you could create a lightsource (or more than one) and shade the background correspondingly.

Keep up at it.

To keep it short:
I'm sorry you took my comments that seriously. I edited the unhelpfull parts out of my post.

And Yak, don't take up that prejudice because of one person.

EDIT:
I never said his BG or his style look bad, or that I won't help 'because my art is superior to his'. Also, I never mentioned the perspective, I don't have a problem with it being "wacky".
Sorry for sounding harsh, but emotions are hard to convey through text.
What I wanted to say is that a 10 minute modification could make it 10x better looking, I don't mean a modification of his style, but simply adding more details like:
-wood boards where the walls meet the floor - 2 lines & a flood fill
-electrical outlet - 1 rectangle, 1 flood fill, 2 dots
-bigger windows - 5 lines, 1 flood fill
-cracked walls - few freehands

Some bigger mod's:
-maybe a lightsource inside the room, at least it seems it's in the room looking at the shadows, then you could also add a switch to the wall
-if you want to stich with the lightsource coming from the outside, there would be a highlight of the window shape on the floor

That's all, take it easy.

Here is my suggestion to you regarding your future artwork:
1. Study this tutorials
  Mr. Collosal's tutorials
  Hobbes' background tutorial
  Minimi's tutorial
  Increator's tutorial
  BigBrother's tutorial
2. For more tut's check out the Tutorials thread.
3. Practice and make new art with what you've learned.
4. Post here when you're having troubles with something or don't know what to do next.

Creating your own artwork requres a lot of patience.

Personally, I don't like the floor. I think you should recreate it using two colors so it fits the other untextured elements of the background. If you're going to stick with it, I would suggest bringing the noise level down since there are some weird green, yellow and blue pixels on the floor texture, like DontTreadOnMe already pointed out.

Very nice. I decided to make a paintover, although this isn't even close to "extreme case" as you said it. Hope you don't mind.

Perspective edit:
You're using a simple rpg style where objects are viewed from bird's perspective. The tree's roots are drawn in such way, but the rest isn't. I broke it down into simple shapes so you can see what I actually changed. I also added a lightsource to the south-east part of the tree to make it a bit more interesting.

Color edit:
The tree's foliage and grass colors were blending too much, so I reduced the grass' saturation (probably too much), and created a simple shadow to give it some depth.

I hope this edit helps you, keep in mind that it was made in a very short time.

I finished it, had to click on that restart button like a gazzilion times. I kept forgetting to open the window and lower the cannon before shooting the grenade.

There is also a win32 port of Duke3d which enables opengl with 3d models, and also a windows version of the build editor. Get it here.

For Doom, Heretic and Hexen win32 ports, also with 3d models check out here.

And finally, there is Blood game port, download it + full model and high resolution texture pack here. Go to the files section that will redirect you to sourceforge pages to download it.

If anyone else is aware of some other game ports, please, share 'em.

ProgZmax- great job on the hands, that's something I'm no good at. Guess I'm going to try to draw them in simmilar way.

Loominous-  Wow! Less collors, more effect. I'll try to make use of your suggestions in the next version.

I've been looking Andrew Loomis' pdf books, but the saveloomis site doesn't host them anymore. Searching the net I found one zip including 5 of his books in odf format:
-Creative illustration
-Drawing the heads and hands
-Eye of the painter
-Fun with a pencil
-Succesfull drawing

Get it while it's still online here:

Very nice sprite and animation Cluey.

I'm not sure if your gif program is causing this, but there are too many colors for a sprite of such small size.

I need some help regarding his right hand. C&C is very welcome.

Sorry for the non-transparent gif.

Oh yes.

I'm guessing that majority of the forum members played that game. IMO, one of the greatest adventure games ever made. But then most Lucas Arts adventures fit in that category aswell.

But imagine everyone posting something about the game they just got. I suggest visiting the Popular threads board for that kind of stuff.

Oh, and welcome to the forums.

I'm not sure if this is the trailer Jet posted, since the link is dead,  but here goes:

I found this trailer on Croatian portal under 'today's news' and didn't want to start a new topic.

Very nice indeed.

I suggest adding some instrument to the background (string ensemble, synth...)  to give it more depth.
